I was thinking today about the way humans (generally speaking) view themselves as a seperate entity to nature. I mean we refer to things like artificial and man made but really we are a product of nature so everything we think about or create etc is a reflection of nature. What i am trying to get at is, is the universe in some way self understanding or using seemingly intelligent beings to self regulate as (theoretically speaking) we could one day alter large parts of the universe. I was watching a Discovery channel thing yesterday and here's a summary of it. When she was a little girl, she saw a ghost named Mr. Gordi. Her parents called a parapsychologist William Roll over to investigate. He showed her 10 pictures of men that could've been the man Heidi, the girl, described. We recently completed a lab in biology concerning diffusion. We placed half of a carrot in fresh water and half of a carrot in salt water. We observed that the carrot in the salt water lost mass, and the carrot in fresh water gained mass. One of the discussion questions is would you get the same results with a potatoe? I am not sure about the answer. My thoughts are that you wouldn't b/c of the different skins. Please help me out!
