  1. Hello, First check the appendix. This is a photo of the given problem and my FBD The description is in dutch. The translation: If the springs are coupled to eachother without the mass they are at resting position. There is no tension in the springs. When the mass is applied the springs will extend. Thereafter a punch (i.e. krachtstoot) is applied. The only value given is 60 cm The mass and spring constant and punch i declared myself. Mass, m = 2kg Spring constant, k = 10 kg/m Punch, Fp = 100 N Now where do i begin? Im not sure what my second step should be? I cannot calculate the Y position etc. (First step was draw fbd…

Im required to make a graph on which type of fabric retains heat the best. I recorded the temperatures every 10 minutes for 50 minutes when doing the experiments. I currently have a results graph that includes the time and the temperature at each time. I tried to turn this into a bar graph but I'm confused as to how to fit all the fabrics into one graph. Please help. Thanks

Hello, I am in high school and I am writing an essay for a competition about microbes inside humans. However, I am very confused about several topics that I have read about, so I would greatly appreciate it if you could answer the following questions! - What's the difference between glycans and carbohydrates? Do they get digested in the same way in the large intestine? - many sites state that the methanogens in the gut are anaerobic, so is there no oxygen in the gut? - is the bacteria B infantis a fermentative bacteria? - How do fermentative bacteria release hydrogen during fermentation? Why do they produce hydrogen (what benefit)? - Why do m…

If we have a vector that we want to define using a pair of base vectors that do not meet at a 90 degree angle I understand that one way is to combine these basis vectors and, adding a coefficient to each form a parallelogram which has the vector as a "destination". They are contravariant vectors. When it comes to the covariant vectors it seems that we have to follow these contravariant vectors until a perpendicular from them would ,if drawn go through the vector we are trying to describe. The question I want to ask is whether these covariant vectors add in the same way as the contravariant ones. Is is possible to "follow"…

  9. Hi, I'm in 12th grade and for my senior project I wanted to do an experiment on the effects that copper and zinc have on mung beans. I have copper sulfate pentahyde and zinc sulfate monohydrate, which I had purchased because I have seen information on other similar experiments where these were used to test the effects of copper and zinc on plants. I was wondering whether I should instead use copper powder and zinc powder instead as these, I think, would make for better variables because they are purer forms of metal. Aside from this, I have had trouble deciding what amounts to use on the plants and whether I should add the amounts to the soil directly before pla…

Hello, I'm a bit frustrated by one section of my microbiology reading for this week. I just can't wrap my head around the variables in the equation for cell population count and prediction of cell numbers in x amount of time. I'm reading https://courses.lumenlearning.com/microbiology/chapter/how-microbes-grow/ . One of the sample questions asks, "With a doubling time of 30 minutes and a starting population size of 1 × 105 cells, how many cells will be present after 2 hours, assuming no cell death?" The formula is Nn=N02n Nn is the number of cells at any generation n, N0 is the initial number of cells, and n is the number of generations. …

  14. I have been assembling 70/30 Potassium perchlorate and AL in cardboard tubes with glued ends. Each component is added individually and not mixed until ready to light the fire cracker. Should I have any concern when shaking the mixture to combine before lighting? I've shaken many of these vigorously to combine the two materials. My question is should I have any concern shaking within the closed system to combine. No problems so far. My research indicates that this binary mixing is the safest method since the mixture only becomes active within the closed container. Will the mixture ever spontaneously ignite when shaking without the spark of the fuse…

  15. Hi, My question is a simple one with a possibly very complex answer. I have three DNA samples (A,B and C) Sample A(female) and B(male) has the same father, but not mother. Sample B(male) and C(male) has the same mother, but not father. The Sample for the father of A and B is available, but not the sample of the mother of B and C. My questions are; 1. Can the paternal lineage between A and B be proven. 2. Can the maternal lineage between B and C be proven. Thanks in advance,

Hello guys, I need idea for high school science project. The project should not require expensive equipment or rare materials. Project should solve humanity problem or be related with humanity. I have one idea, but my idea is not complete. My idea was take bacteria’s examples from school desk, then grow bacteria’s in petri dishes and identify (Gram positive or Gram negative), but I can’t relate it with human health or similar thing. I would be grateful if you could complete my idea. It would be good if you send some links. Thanks for any help. :)

My homework task is following, i you could point me in right direction or simplify this for me i would be gratefull, im having course on my uni, but i understand only a bit of everything. Describing the genetic trait or the syndrome that we monitor does not have to be a disease, it is important to be able to follow it. List the literature and go through these works briefly. The point is to point out which gene / genes influence what we are mon…

I'm attempting to solve an electrical engineering problem. The question was to find the values of xd, xa, rs and gd in a p-n junction, as such I have completed the first three parts and am now struggling to find the value of the the last part due to my calculator stating a math error when imputing the values into the equation i'm using. The value of gd is found using the equation gd = I/ nkT and the only value i'm missing is the value for I which when I input i receive my error. With all the correct values inserted, i have put this equation into my calculator. I = 10-8 * ( e(0.5/1.4*1.38x10^-23*300 -1). Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

I am an MA student at City Uni in London UK. I am writing a novel on the Creative Writing course there, and I have a character of a chemist creating novel compounds that he is ingesting to find God. It is crucial that my *fake* molecules at least add up in terms of how they would join together etc. and react together. I am looking for someone with creative chemistry skills willing to exchange a few emails with me on these fantasy compounds and help me draw realistic molecule diagrams. I think I need to make about four of them. I am NOT interested in these being viable, but we would have to use some real building blocks in the process. You can check with my programme head …

I am on a open university course (Environmental Sciences, first year) and never had chemistry in high-school (coming from the services area), therefore I need some assistance. I just don't understand this. What's the process to get these answers? I tried the same process as with closed interval but I was wrong. Why none, none, none, none? I'm stuck. Show me how you would do it, or any other example you put to help me understand. Any help is welcome, thank you for your answers. (EXAMPLE 2, (b)).
