  2. Hi all, I was just after a bit of assistance on an assignment. I am a first year university student, and still learning about critical thinking and testing hypothesis. I need to answer, among other things, whether this scenario can be tested: Julie noticed that more people smile at her when she wears designer clothes. She decided to test this hypothesis on her workmates. One day, she wore a Stella McCartney dress to the office, and attended a departmental morning tea that was held to thank staff for contributing to the company’s increased sales. As she mingled with the group, every workmate gave her a big, broad, genuine, smile. At lunch time, she changed into a …

Alright so basically I'm doing grade 12 U Biology in order to upgrade before heading to college, although im entirely stuck on how to this. I remember doing punnet squares in grade 11 but this just seems a little complex, and the text books really don't help that much. And here's the questions I am stuck on. I'm totally lost. Like I tried it out and to find 2pq I didnt end up with 1. 26. A population has two alleles, B and b. The allele frequency of B is 0.73. What is the heterozygotes frequency, if the population is in the H-W equilibrium? (10 marks) Marking guide Calculation indicate that heterozygotes frequency, if the population is equal to 2pq in the …

Hello. This the problem: The population of Booneville increases at a rate of r(t)= (3.62)(1+0.8t^2) people per year, where t is the time in years from 1970. The population in 1976 was 726. What was is it in 1984? I' ve been trying integrating and then evaluating the integral at t=8 (8 years, 1984-1976=8). The answer must be 3195. I want to learn this because I saw the next problems in my textbook are similar to this one. It might be silly, but any help is welcome. Thank you.

  9. Hi guys I am writing a speech for a school video and I have a maximum of 3 minutes, but I've written 4 minutes and 17 seconds worth of stuff. I need help cutting the fat away giving me around 2 minutes and 45 seconds worth of stuff so that I can have some quick experiments and speak slower so it's easier to understand. If you guys could help me on cutting it down a bit that would be super helpful! Thanks! Speech: What are Black Holes? The information paradox is something that took scientists tens of years to understand, so let’s understand it in 3 minutes. Before we go deeper we need to understand what hawking radiation and a black holes are. Blac…

  10. Hello guys I'm really struggling with the question of whether or not a man get sick if he inherits a recessive X chromosome? On one hand I'm thinking that, yes he will get sick as he has no other alternative X chromosome to cover for the "faulty" one he has received and therefor he will become i'll. On the other hand I'm thinking that there has to be men who is carrying a recessive X chromosome that are not sick. How does it work?

  12. Hi, so I am reading Ballad of the White Horse by G.K. Chesterton, Love the book, but why do I have to write a paper on an epic poem when I can already write well enough to get A's in my english class? I'm not thinking about pursuing writing as a career. I'm thinking about doing nuclear engineering. I mean I kinda don't get very much from the class, but it's required. Not only that, but the class actually detracts from my education because I have less time to study math and science which are far more difficult and technical. That and I am pulling my hair out because my teacher wants me to use very specific parts of the poem.... Which raises the question: Why isn't this jus…

I have posted here before in the Homework section when I feel my question is very elementary and hope I can "do it again....... So... if we preclude relative motion between objects from the scenario could the geometry of spacetime be described as Euclidean **? So ,if objects are (can they be? Is there any point ?) treated as static vis a vis one another can they be modeled consistently in a Euclidean way or does one still have to take into account the different distances between objects? **by "Euclidean" I mean the geometry I learned at school;we never called it "Euclidean" ,it was just "geometry"

  18. I am new. I wasn't sure where to ask this. I got into a car accident 6 years ago. I broke A LOT OF PARTS of my body. It seems to be a LOT worst during a FULL MOON and when the barometric pressure is low. Is this normal? Why? Is there any way to help my body combat it? Thank you for any information that might help me.

Hello! The problem is stated as follows: The heat capacity of a body, in the considered temperature interval, depends on temperature according to the expression C=10+0.002T+3*10^{-5}T^{2}JK^{-1} How much heat is released when the temperature varies from T1= 400 K to T2=300 K ? My way of solving: we have C=δQ/dT so δQ=CdT . By integrating both sides on the given interval we should get the desired quantity. My computation yields -1440J but the answer is -2.1kJ?! What's wrong? One remark is that δQ is not a differential so taking integral of it may be not correct. Will be grateful for reasonable opinions. Thanks for atten…

  21. Hello, everyone! I’m preparing for Olympiad and found a task which seems not trivial to me and I can’t find any clues right now to solve it. So, here it is: The reagent is a spherical anion with r=0,25nm. Its reduction is taking place on a dropping mercury electrode in methanol with surface non-active 1,1-electrolyte (concentration is 0,014M), temperature is 20*C. Velocity of mercury dropping is 1.5 mg/s, dropping period is 5 seconds. Intraspheric energy of anion reorganization is 1,2 eV. Equilibrium reaction potential is +0,76eV. Transmission coefficient by localization on inner Helmholtz plane - 0,001. Thickness of reactionary layer is 0,1 nm, effective frequency…

Hello, For a Chemistry project i have to determine the starch concentration of two solutions of which i only know the extinction (which i had of course determined using a colorimeter) using a calibration line plotted in excel derived from samples of which the concentration + extinction was known. The problem is that i forgot to note the molarity of the starch-solution - from which i derived my samples -, even though i did note the mass concentration in g/L. Therefore i made a graph in excel with the concentration is in g/L and the extinction. Is this a valid relation? Or do i need to know the molarity of the starch-solution? Best regards, Hans

Hello. This is not even a problem but an example my book gives, but I want to understand it in order to do the exercises. It is as follows: A light L is being raised up a pole. The light shines on the object Q, casting a shadow on the ground. At a certain moment the light is 40 meters off the ground, rising at 5 meters per minute. How fast is the shadow shrinking at that instant? Then the book gives the answer that I don't understand. It reads: Let the height be y at time t and the lenght of the shadow be x. By similiar triangles, x/10=(x+20)/y; i.e., xy=10(x+20).The explanation goes on but I only want to know about the similar triangles part. I don't know wher…
