Please stop spreading this misinformation and promoting myths, Jamie Hale. Science educators such as Dr. William McComas, as well as many professional scientists, are fighting to counter this misinformation about science and correct it. There is NO SUCH THING as "The Scientific Method." No such thing exists or ever existed. This is one of the greatest and most pervasive MYTHS about science out there. Science uses THOUSANDS of methods and they are all very different. "The Many Scientific MethodS" or the Many processes of science" are far better expressions. "The Scientific Method" is a disgarce and erroneous garbage. The universal, step by step, common, singula…

Well, it seems that I'm not allowed to react logically correctly in full given the interpretation of science rampant on the site. I use "paradox" as in a seeming contradiction. You still don't grab this even though I repeated this more than once. You are clearly someone of great IQ, great knowledge and great experience, great EQ and more over great creative intelligence thus correctly one of great reputation, how can that be? Your correct use of mathematics reaches exactly the same answer as correct logic does, yet much slower and with much more effort. So on this problem lingual logic wins hands down and mathematics supports that. Unless you wish to state you were quick…

I had a thought that our universe was in free fall, Similar to when we see astronauts practicing zero g in a diving plane, http://science.howstuffworks.com/zero-g1.htm I thought we may then be able to work out how fast the universe is travelling if we could work out the mass of our universe, And what speed would be needed for that amount of mass to produce zero g within its own falling bubble. PLANE=UNIVERSE in a bottle/bubble ASTRONAUTS=MASS OF UNIVERSE. Only an idea.

No, I'm not. I was there and am rejecting every single conclusion of Seralini's study, accepting even the so far (here) unsupported assertion that the conclusions of kidney and liver problems were statistically invalid - (I can't find the calculations or data, and no one here has posted them) (There's this, which is basically an argument from incredulity that overlooks its own observation about the size of the study groups: but since none of that bears on my point here, or has any but difficult and indirect relevance to the thread topic, I simply stipulated to the fact.) As one is almost forced to include Seralini's study in an overview paper on the is…

In highschool I had the geo-thermal idea myself. Same proposition: drill deep enough till you hit lava. The retractors are that you would sort of want two holes. One for water, one for steam out. How do you connect these holes especially in the presence of lava? So the bore hole thing doesn't play out. If it did, I am told that the effluent would contain a lot of sulfuric compound and be rather acidic and dirty. You would have to take that into account. If you wanted to line the bore hole with aluminum it would need some degree of insulation. If and when there is an exposed geothermal, the heat energy can be utilized. You could heat an entire city, ver…

Tidal forces don't appear to be entirely driven by force of more gravity but the tide seems to rise by the lunar forces some how. I don't know that this occurs in waves however.

In the winter months the number of hours of day light are fewer than during summer months. Below is a graph of the difference in daylight hours between Philadelphia, PA at ~39.5 north and Dallas, Texas ~32.6 north over the period of one year. Philadelphia gets more daylight hours in the summer. The total daylight hours The equator is interesting. The sun may change angle but the equator gets 12:07 hours of daylight every day of the year. On the equinox every location on earth gets 12 hours of sunlight. This is March 20 and September 23.

Let suppose for a moment that velocity is "property' of an unique elementary particle", and it is the only cause of movement. Let suppose that the elementary particle posses both the same gravity and electric ability. Two of this kind of elementary particles will be in eternal circular movement, in an absolute equilibrium between electric and gravity forces, if they are not disturbed by other similar. They will move like some cosmic bodies move in circular movement.in the geodesics of each other The change of velocity, the inertia and some other law of physic appears afterwards as interaction of pair with an third. I have often wondered from a christian point of view why the world is what it is. While personally I have faith for my fellow man. I cannot believe that of the many things wrong with humanity. It is self caused. I often do not speak of religion. This is due to the wests intolerance of insightful discussion. Barriers in place regardless of lawful or personal to take away ones faith. This is regardless of what faith it is. Christian, Moslem, Hindu, Buddhist. As someone who grew up around christian doctrine. I see the subtle changes in our society. I see the mild(sometimes more) neglect taken towards people of faith. In the past few years I have seen this neglect as wel…

"Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible. -- Tenzin Gyatso, the 14th Dalai Lama" "Kind" meaning what, primate? Kind isn't "whatever". As for Buddhists, they are evil. How do you not know the history of atheism or Tibet, what the Dalai lamas did to their people? Learn history and stop being a ignorant. Damn think: kindness according to many atheists is very different than kindness as defined by the Bible and Christians who believe it. You, and that pompous ass commit the fallacy of equivocation, because "kind" can have multiple meanings depending on what philosophy or religion it is based on. For example in some Buddhist thought, especially in Japan, suicide c…

The cause of gravity I will tell a story about my God Allah, so you can understand the topic: when Allah created the earth he made very high energy by his hand, all the high energy came to a little matter which is the planet earth. when this happened, there was left the gravitational field because it is a negative mass, the vacuum is a zero mass , so Allah created the earth from vacuum, i.e from nothing. now we have negative gravitational field attracted to its positive mass with the energy of Allah!!! so they are one entity, every positive mass attracts to any negative gravitational field, until it comes to the mass undergoing some acceleration, finally I ask my real sc…

"Sensitive in Washington State", Well good it is a very opportunistic species. In Pennsylvania we have a ready supply. I've blown the stuff once or twice as an add on. For primary growth, after all, it is not very difficult to get rid of and it doesn't grow so heighthaly that it blocks out sunlight. Its kind of weak but yet it grows in cracks. It pulls out nicely. On that note, I used to have 0 poison issues in my area. Now a days gardeners do not yank this stuff. Won't even weed wack it. If precision herbicide is not warranted, I'll put on vynils and yank it out. This plant would go well on a salad. Probably there for horses and cows. Did you ever see any …

As it seems, the discussion goes quite naturally– without some reasonable inferences. That is so since in reality only small part of discussions that are Metaphysical (Meta-biological, etc.) can have some reasonable, at least in a certain extent, sense outside the informational (“The Information as Absolute”) conception, where one can differ, e.g., at least the notions “Matter” and “Consciousness”, material and concise objects/phenomena. More – see the paper “The Information as Absolute” , at least the section 6.2. “Consciousness”, though it would be useful to read the paper as a whole. Now a little upgrade of this [earlier http://arxiv.org/abs/1004.3712] paper ap…

Beware I come with a government scientific health warning . .I have thought about this a lot. How can all these things, anything, reach out to the far distances of space to produce some form of invisible field effect.? As far as I see it they do not reach out as such. Their ( Atoms, cores Whatever), just exist where they do. Like some new extra Ball in the middle of one of those crazy children's park amusements , that is a huge volume of plastic colored balls. when a kid jumps in the middle. [yippee] he/she does not exert a field as such, it is just all the balls move a tad , little bit, and if another kid is sitting at the edge of the tank. he/she will feel…

Force is inertial pressure differential and curvature is reaction to force and image of force is relatively close but not quite the same as force. Really. Do your calculations prove or not van der waals and casimere and contact weld and weak and gravity are attractive forces just like lower inertial pressure differential? and yes 0 yes in deed allison wonderland Its pressure differential all the way down and all the way up ron

David YOU have the other side of my code. I found the bianary code hidden in plain sight and it helps translate physics to communication or language but no body is giving me the light of day. the code actually shows us where we are and how to move electrons on and off Who; what ; where; when AND HOW we choose to either make history or decide what history mean in our head. Once we have purpose the mission of life reveals itself to the leaders of this brave new world of Timeless understading and travel... If we choose to use matter to be restricted by just time then what ever understanding or wisdom we build on TIMES RULES self protect matter. THE NEXT s…

Centripetal and centrifugal forces arise from the intrinsic geometrodynamics of spacetime. The geon is the "gravitational electromagnetic entity" in which the energy flow(field lines and their associated directions) of gravitational and electromagnetic force is described.

A Scientocracy sounds attractive. It would be ruled by scientists, who would govern rationally, and use public money for the furtherance of science. Not for absurd military projects like the F-35. That plane could have been replaced by new rebuilds of the F-15. But that's another story. The point is that society would be better run by people who are interested in science. And let's face it - most people who like science are male. For example, ScienceForums.Net is an almost exclusively male.society. It doesn't have many women posting. And that's right and proper. Women aren't designed for Science. Their calling is to find a strong male, and bear his children. …
