  1. As an example, the atom was hypothesized prior to it's observation... but let us not split hairs! The OT deserves respect and there are other hypothesis around the OT question that are just as easily inserted into the blank on this. I've always been interested in the possibility that the purpose of life is to reproduce, spread and infuse into any unoccupied habitat. Looking at it from that perspective then it looks like the purpose of human life is to spread Earth life to other planets is plausible. Maybe a technological civilization is the Earth's version of gonads and we are the mechanism by which Earth Life spreads to new planets and the universe! Seriously dude, my hypothesis has just as much support as the purpose you propose... The purpose of life is to reproduce, to create new life and DNA! Even that is nothing but anthropomorphism taken to its extreme. I am having a real problem with the idea of purpose in this context. Where is that purpose coming from? Did AI seed the Earth so that eventually a new AI would emerge? If AI is the purpose of life then you, at the very least, are proposing that a metaphysical process is in charge of the Universe. Isn't that the same thing as supernatural?

  5. Robert Wright in Nonzero The Logic of Human Destiny puts it this way: more here: YOU CALL THAT DESTINY? - http://www.nonzero.org/intro.htm#grandiosity Let me just note that Robert Wright is not a scientist, Nonzero is pop science, and while his opinions do not necessarily represent mine, I like the way he thinks about things.

  6. I feel you. This is what most trailers look like to me, i must be getting old:

  7. The easiest is by actor. I haven't seen a bad Simon Pegg movie yet. Frances McDormand. Benedict Cumberbatch. Cate Blanchett. Studios with great production values, Pixar, DreamWorks. Franchises are often a no-brainer. I've seen all the other Pirates of the Caribbean movies, why wouldn't I see the next? I don't need to see the trailers to know Bruckheimer's formula. And directors, of course. I'd pay to see JJ Abrams direct traffic.

  8. Geometry is a set of measurements (or, better, the mathematics of how those measurements are related). It is a mathematical abstraction, a tool. So different observers of the same thing will apply different geometry to their measurements. It is an effect of the observer, not the observed. Or, at least, the relationship between the observer and the observed.

  10. Thank you for your nice compliment Mr. Studiot I think the answer is correct which locates in Mehmet Saygın's comment. Your answer seems persuasive. I also wanted learn this difference. Thank you

  11. I think this is the answer of your question. There is a difference between monochromatic yellow (570-590 nm) and yellow(500-730 nm),but not as you think. Yellow = Green(500-570 nm) +Red (620-730 nm) light and monochromatic yellow(570-590 nm) is the same thing, because our eyes integrates Green+Red=Yellow and this combination of the light also a narrow range likes monochromatic yellow. But yellow(500-730 nm) is a different light, this light has a wider range and continuous spectrum. Both monochromatic yellow light and Yellow = Green(500-570 nm) +Red (620-730 nm) light has a lemonish yellow color. On the other hand, yellow(500-730 nm) has a creamy white color. This is the key.

  12. I don't really mind them. In 1968 I remember seeing the greatest Sci/Fi movie ever made in 4 times in the first year, trying to figure out the whole gist of the bloody thing. That movie of course was 2001: A Space Odyssey: Then I got hold of the book and read it over three nights. All was revealed! Since then I have seen 2001 probably 24, 25 times and have it on dvd also. Sometimes I will read the gist of a particular movie I wish to watch before watching it...sometimes its fun working backwards in your mind as to how a known conclusion will be reached. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy a good "who dunnit" movie and love working out who the baddie or culprit is. Actually either way satisfies me as long as the movie plot and acting is decent.

  16. Usually am radio wave are going through matter more easily. it may be use: https://www.quora.com/Why-cant-radio-waves-transmit-through-water, Im looking for more... The answer requires that you understand electron orbitals and the amount of energy that is required to kick an electron from a discrete lower orbital to a discrete higher one. When a photon (light, radio, x-ray etc) passes through an atom, an electron in the atom can absorb it if the photon contains enough energy to kick the electron to a higher orbital. If the photon doesn't contain enough energy to be absorbed by the electron, then it simply passes through. Due to the discrete nature of electron orbitals, electrons will only absorb photons of particular wavelengths (energies) I took it from the web, its not from me

  17. ! Moderator Note OlegGorokhov, you've been given three pages to explain why all the claims you're making are valid. The members have been extremely civil in the face of your constant repetition, and your ignoring of their simple questions to help you test your idea. You are NOT doing science by behaving this way. And the above shows that you have some non-science agenda to grandstand your idea. This is a science DISCUSSION site, we don't allow soapboxers who don't listen, we don't allow preachers who ignore questions. This thread is closed, and you are NOT allowed to open this subject again until you can answer ANY of the questions you've been asked. ! Moderator Note I also want to say I'm pleased that the rest of the membership didn't sink to attacking the intellectual integrity of another poster the way Oleg is doing here. Thread closed.

  19. DNA exists, it's properties are well known if not completely understood, "AGI" is a concept with no real world existence. I've seen waves on a beach sort out shapes of broken bricks into amazingly complex shapes and I was able to predict which shapes would be next in line but the surf had no idea what is was doing. In fact the surf is about as purposeless a process there is but it was not random and it appeared to have both purpose and a goal... Both were an illusion...

First understand the mistake in the current formula for Work and Energy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! First get the Karlson's example and about the gravitational Force (about 2 identical processes during the 2nd second ). Read the text again, again and again
