  1. I'm picturing this like a Western: you standing on a deserted street with the spray clipped to your belt. Arms by your side, fingers twitching slightly. Suddenly a figure emerges from a bar and prepares to spit on the floor. Before he can move you have drawn and fired sprayed. Nice animation showing the how big the effect of reducing contact is: This also applies to increasing herd immunity (because that also breaks the chain of transmission). So as herd immunity increases, the limitations on social contact can be reduced.

  2. Worse, it is less effective at higher concentrations.

  4. It's not intuitive. Another one not intuitive to me is cold bleach, it seems, bleaches better than warm or hot bleach. Edit: Lower concentration increases contact time so that the surface of the microorganisms protein coat is not denatured too quickly such that it prevents more of the alcohol penetrating deeper into them. Superficial denaturing may just initiate dormancy.

  5. Japan seems to be having a relatively low infection rate. An author in Japan Times speculated this might be down to being generally more reserved in social contact behaviour and people who are ill customarily wear face masks, which long predates this issue. They hold their sneezes as well if they can IIRC. They have a high elderly population as well. https://www.japantimes.co.jp/opinion/2020/03/21/commentary/japan-commentary/japan-still-coronavirus-outlier/

  6. Any fluid or squashy substance, liquid or paste, will not work for you since they do not prevent the metal conductive parts contacting. Since you haven't told us your application here is a solution for certain types of power transistor. https://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/heatsink-mounting-accessories/7128225?cm_mmc=UK-PLA-DS3A-_-google-_-PLA_UK_EN_HVAC+%26+Fans+%26+Thermal+Management_Whoop-_-Heatsink+Mounting+Accessories_Whoop-_-PRODUCT_GROUP&matchtype=&pla-339395015021&s_kwcid=AL!7457!3!413164769885!!!g!339395015021!&gclid=EAIaIQobChMInKmxiLmw6AIVRcjeCh2kYAeQEAYYASABEgJvUvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds This has a thermally conductive/electrically isolating mounting slip and also an isolating sleeve for the mounting bolt. At one time these were made from mica, but now various proprietary artifical materials are available.

  7. The force on a current is IL x B where B is measured at the place where the current is. (often it's given as the force per unit length, so you can model an infinite wire - F/L = I x B) The right-hand rule gives you the direction

  9. Suddenly Universal Basic Income doesn't seem like such a bad idea to most people. I guess it's not socialism anymore now that they're affected.

  11. Having had to remove many self adhesive labels in my time I have found the simplest method is to heat the label before removal. This strips off the glue with the lable rather well. Different methods of applying heat can be used from a hair drier to hot water. For instance I use a lot of malt and generate usable jamjars clean enough for new food when the malt is used up. Here I wash out the empty jar in the washing up water, then fill it with boiling water and stand it in the washing up water. After about half an hour the label just floats off cleanly, taking the glue with it. If I scratch off the label cold that always leaves a difficult to remove residue. The best chemical solvent I have found for removal is petroleum. This does not damage plastics as acetone (and acetic acid) is wont to do. A dip of a rag into the mower tank and a wipe/rub removes most organic material a treat. But this is best done in the open air and you should always wash the object afterwards.

  12. ! Moderator Note In short, you do not have a method to calculate the masses as you claimed. Apart from choosing numbers for the variables in your equation to come up with the right answer. This thread is closed. Do not bring this subject up again.

  14. The claim that element 115 fuel UFO's comes from before element 115 was ever actually synthesized. At that time, they would claim that it had all sorts of bizarre properties that made it suitable for that purpose, based on the fact that none existed to prove them wrong. I also remember a claim that UFO flew by manipulating gravity. But they claimed that it was by controlling Gravitational waves*. I can only assume that they had read that there was a such a thing, and thus assumed that they were what were responsible for gravitational attraction. Therefore, if you could control them, you could control gravity forces. As this is complete bollix, (gravitational waves are not what are responsible for gravity.), Their "explanation" wasn't worth spit. * Though if I remember right, they use the incorrect term "gravity waves".

  15. Good point, some people might actually do that. Like @dimreepr. This is exactly why my eyes were bleeding when I was seeing full playgrounds just this past weekend. Fortunately the quarantine here got tighter since Monday morning but theres still a lot of people who make nothing of this whole thing. One could do an animation the other way around on how much more people get infected when a single person does not comply. And that is what I’m afraid of hence I will practice drawing my bottle.

  16. Yes and the best source to look for research is Dr. Stephanie Seneff, Senior Professor MIT. In 1918 Spanish flu they would lay out patients in the sun not realizing that the sulfur from the sun changes as it goes through the skin into cholestrol sulfate and yes it does kill viruses. In fact, around every cell is a gel made up of cholestrol sulfate which is the means that all nutrients travel throughout the body. Many people, because they drink RO water add organic sulfur to their water. Another research was done on elecampane at Cork University showing it also kills MRSA and works to address lung issues. There is another research that has been hidden for twenty years and it is one on aloe vera. Aloe vera has to be stabilized in order to work pass four hours as most all people already know that use it for burns. What they did not realize is to stabilize, one has to cut gel out of plant and throw into the freezer to keep it stabilized. Dr. Reg McDaniel, YouTube spoke to the Colorado House where he shows the cells created by aloe are 400 times larger and the only thing they could name them is Gee cells. Wake Forest currently uses this technology to regrow body parts - another research you can view online. I was testing a product made from liquid pine trees and sent the product to Georgia to have the university test for glycans and it showed to have six out of the nine. I believe this is why vitamin c also shows to address viruses. The plants that vitamin c come from all are high in glycans.

  17. I hate to barge in on you like this, I just wanted to say that when I have to leave the house I started to carry a full sized window bottle sprinkler 500ml capacity filled with 70% ethanol. I’m officially living in a g damned scifi novel.
