Hello all -- I hope you are doing well in these odd times and keeping safe. This morning I've applied an update to our forum software, which obviously brings a few visual updates and changes in comparison to the older version. This was necessary to ensure we stay up to date with the latest security features and patches. However, from a functionality perspective, I believe this will mostly remain unchanged. Please do let us know in this thread if you have any issues with the site, and I'll continue to monitor the site for problems.4 points

Hello all. I haven't formally introduced myself yet until now. Existing Member I came here several years ago, with a mild interest in science. I was searching for something. Then life happened. Education Background I'm a non-scientist and non-mathematician. But I still hold some interests in physics, philosophy, and maybe more fields. My formal education was art. Scientific Experiments and Tools My laboratory and experiments exist only in my head. I try to maximize my imagination or visualization to better approximate my ideas or comprehension of other own ideas. However, I'm now aware these are unreliable. Forum Activity My time is freed up a bit, so I might be more active from time to time and able to learn a thing or two and maybe contribute something useful.1 point

Congratulations. But we don't do your homework for you. We can help you but you must do the work. The better the information you supply the better the help we can offer. I presume you know what integration is and how to perform some simple integrations ? But you need some real life examples. Have you no ideas at all ? How about this: Suppose you have measured a graph of some function, say current or voltage in an electrical circuit or the water flow of a stream or river or the temperature over a day or week or month or......... or take your pick of some physical variable from real life. Ask if you don't know what a variable is it is very important that you do. So you are asked for the average value of this variable and you say OK let me perform the integeration since I know that the average = the integral divided by the interval In maths symbols this is [math]Average(x) = \frac{{\int_a^b {f(x)dx} }}{{b - a}}[/math] Now choose a variable and see if we can generate an f(x) and integrate it.1 point

I fail to see why JC deserves two demerit points for pointing out that not being able o vote 'your conscience' is a fault of the American Political system, and that both dominant parties engage in this behaviour that Swansont finds scary. It's not like this is a new thing, or for Republicans only; why wasn't he scared before ? ( Sorry JC, I can only restore 1 point, but I liked your R Burns ) You know, the Democrats control the Presidency, the House and the Senate. They had better start getting used to criticism, as the ball is now in their court. And before someone says "Any mistakes they make should be forgiven because the Republicans and Trump were much worse.", I shouldn't have to remind you that THAT is 'whataboutism'.1 point

Must be rather nice to see that the Dems never do that type of towing the party line...1 point

How is that a paradox? You expect a certain behavior based on assumption(s). If the system doesn't behave as expected it's not because theres a paradox, it's because your assumptions about the system behavior are wrong.1 point

Homework Help is where members guide other members towards deriving answers to their homework. It is not where members provide full answers to members too lazy or indifferent to at least make some effort to answer those questions. Perhaps, if you make an effort now to describe what work you have done to attempt an answer and what uncertainties you have, then some members may be willing to offer you help. That's "help", not "complete answers".1 point

The claim was about a paradox in nature, not in philosophy. So, no actual example, then?0 points

actually I have exactly 15 questions. I've done 10 of them, but I couldn't understand them and that's why I found this place. Maybe I expected the people here to understand them and show me a solution. You may have scolded or humiliated in your own way, but there was no need to humiliate that much because I uploaded it with an incomplete explanation. I'm sure more well-intentioned people will come across. have a nice day. actually I have exactly 15 questions. I've done 10 of them, but I couldn't understand them and that's why I found this place. The answer to this question {{ can a paradox exist in nature? }} is YES. As things go paradoxically in logics , so do things in Mother Nature , but in a dualistically objective manner. Say, Physicalistic manner. When datawave happen to diverge from fields in which energy carriers may or may not collide , the information itself happens to get a differing reference coordinance or an identical one. It is for this reason that a certain emanation of a field can/cannot particularize itself into the format of a (sub-)particle at a certain place with a certain velocity distribution .-1 points

So, no actual example, then? You have DECIDED to think so . . . .-2 points
