  1. It mean's what the feck, as in what father Ted says (and he's a catholic priest), what do you think it means?

  2. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/in-pictures-56016031 Interestingly there are a couple of photos about the use of solar power in the list and also several other environmental science subjects.

  3. It’s based on the shell model of nuclear structure A filled shell of neutrons or protons is a low-energy state, and isotopes tend to be stable against decay (especially beta decay), and you tend to have more stable isotopes with filled shells. (the atomic analogue is noble gases) So e.g. Sn, with 50 protons, has 10 stable isotopes. Pb, which has 82 protons, has 4 stable isotopes. 126 is also a magic number (Pb-208 is doubly magic). It’s thought that having 126 protons might at least have a longer half-life than nearby isotopes.

  4. Einstein's field equations ae satisfied by symmetric Lorentzian manifolds of constant scalar curvature, even for an empty universe, with a positive, zero, or negative Cosmological Constant. They are respectively termed DeSitter, for positive curvature ( spherical ), Minkowsky, for zero curvature ( flat or Euclidian ), and Anti-DeSitter, for negative curvature ( hyperbolic ). Anti-DeSitter has become popular as of late, because of its role in AdS/CFT correspondence, where gauge forces ( of QM ) are described by the extra ( plus one non-compact ) dimensons of string theory, and is the basis for the Holographic Principle.

  6. I'll try a short answer that opens for further discussions, this is an interesting question. Initially I would put algorithms close together with data structures. When I first studied computer science the introduction course one data structures was immediately followed by an introduction to algorithms. I believe that was a good way to start; many algoritms are tied to, or depend on, the underlying structure of the data. I think it would be less efficient to start with algorithms and then continue with data structures. I would not put algorithms at program level in the general case; many projects I've been involved in have relied heavily on standard libraries that someone else have developed, tested etc. The algorithm was, from our application perspective, pretty much a "black box". But in other cases the algorithm has been much more connected to the application. For instance when behavior of the algoritm is controlled or depends on the user input. So the answer would be "it depends". I see that you mention "main class". I have not read the book you refer to but it implies a standalone program. My quick reply above does not necessarily apply to large and/ore distributed applications and systems.

  7. On the first point, I've added a small addition to the script to reload MathJax once content changes in-browser, so edits and quick replies should now show you the rendered math once they are submitted. Looks like they were removed from the toolbar, but I have re-added those for you now. If there are others that are desperately wanted then let me know and I can add those, too. On mobile, Mark Site as Read is available if you click on the three lines at the top-right corner of the toolbar. This also shows your profile information if you need to edit it. Not sure about the recent activity; can't see an obvious setting for that within the control panel, but perhaps this is just a bug and can be fixed in a later release.

  8. What a random post for someone to neg rep. I have little hope for the continuance of reasonable exchange of ideas and mature dialog in our world if even SFN is now infected with this type of absurdity

  9. This video was shared by the House managers during the impeachment hearings. It brings clarity and perspective to what really happened on January 6. It’s a hard one to watch, but a good one with which to be familiar. More videos are available. This was just the opening... real events. Real news. Really used as evidence in the US Senate. Flagged as inappropriate by YouTube viewers. https://youtu.be/i9Xd5s0boWc

  12. It is wrong. By killing yourself you are robbing the state of your future productivity after it has already invested many resources into you. You do not have a right to damage the state's investment.

  13. Many armed persons were not acting in coordination with the protests, but were actually members of controversial right-wing groups. This issue was raised after Jimmy Dore was criticized for getting chummy with a "Boogaloo boy" on air. There is video of black protestors verbally accosting armed individuals who tried to join the protests.

  17. Don't be dramatic. I meant I was quoting Clint Eastwood on page 1 and instead it went to page 2 and since he was the last post naturally I quoted you. Cellphone texting is like my new Chess Your priorities should be on the physics not whether or not I intentionally put a comment in the wrong thread I didn't even say anything like that. What language you speak?

  18. You use words like D Trump, Senate, Replic, that have no meaning. What are we talking about here? Some random person who never sees a penny for his thoughts committing small crimes here and there as a result? And what is impeachment to someone who has been impeached since he hit puberty? Maybe that's why he's an asshole

  19. https://www.quantamagazine.org/the-end-of-physics-20201124/ Of course creative ideas are gone because we're more concerned about hand motions than saving lives and we think that there's nanites swimming in our blood and lasers augmenting our dna 🧬 That would never happen even if we could find precise coordinates because we'd be turning each other into lavafrogs after crossing a shady deed

  20. initial state is well known, and there is a limited set of basic elements (qubits) that can be manipulated by a simple set of rules—rotations of the vector that represents the quantum state. But observing the system during those manipulations comes with a severe penalty: If you take a look too soon, the computation will fail. there's analog gravity immonating from my vectors, that doesn't merely rotate but moves my m-branes (pyramids in spheres) in chaotic and unpredictable ways when the algorithms are run. You don't need to guess. https://spectrum.ieee.org/tech-talk/computing/hardware/photonic-quantum-computer-shows-advantage-over-supercomputer.amp.html This is fake news I know because I work on the foundational arithmetic in which these computers are assembled and I can tell you there hasn't been a single development since the double slit experiment. If I give you key loggers and landlords proofs you'll probably kill me as I'm no longer useful

  22. And how would that go? I usually think what I think. I do not sort out what I'm going to think in advance..... { Joigus -- asked me--around 13 hours ago } Well , you are a "spontaneous" thinker , Sir ...... I myself am more or less like this........ Sometimes people ignore( or : force themselves to forget about) this IMMANENT manner of thinking ......... they see / then they deny what they have realized This is unfortunate transcendence from observable "seeings" ........Going into higher r or lower hierarchies ....... Which is pest to an objective mind . ......And , is , of course , revocable/removable Sort of Otherism Especially towards new-comers ...... there is no Crazy Avatar involved .......... There are , instead , fresh modalities of scientific thinking ; though U have unfortunately decided to ridicule it , to apply the language of foolery satire, Dear Sir ......... but again I feel I have to thank U for your attention : reading my material and bothering to write ...........

  23. In my aforementioned Murphy's law applied to e8 Vacuum Fluctuations thread, the m-brane portion of the model dictates that di-branes overlap it is like combining mathematical infinities, can't be done, so instead we must reduce the space between them in increments equal to their radii (the planck length) per transformation (which represents a planck time). You can measure distance in three dimensions of direction. The time is change in these reductions in space created as the m-branes overlap Sorry just apart of a potential thesis paper. Maybe I'll write it maybe I won't. Depends on which decision will get me what I want. Apparently it's neither decision, or both, or just dependent on the judge.
