  1. ! Moderator Note You have a limited grasp of language, obviously. iNow asked for the meaning of a phrase you used, which he quoted. You perverted that request into a definition for a single word. You display a LOT of intellectually dishonest behavior that's inconsistent with the purpose of this science discussion forum. Please take a 3 day break (we need it!) and decide if you wish to come back with a less dishonest attitude.

  2. The original machine had a base plate of prefabulated amulite, surmounted by a malleable logarithmic casing in such a way that the two main spurving bearings were in a direct line with the panametric fan. The latter consisted simply of six hydrocoptic marzlevanes, so fitted to the ambifacient lunar waneshaft that side fumbling was effectively prevented. The main winding was of the normal lotus-o-deltoid type placed in panendermic semi-boloid slots in the stator, every seventh conductor being connected by a nonreversible tremmie pipe to the differential girdlespring on the "up" end of the grammeters. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turboencabulator

  4. In 1986 when I obviously wore a younger man's clothes, I climbed up on our roof one evening, with my pair of 7x50's, to get a better view of Haley's Comet. After 15 minutes or so, a Police wagon stopped out the front and I was waived down. They told me that some woman from the four story units opposite my house, had rung them up re a "peeping Tom". It was only my Mrs coming out that convinced them of my innocent intentions!

  5. Is not a problem with the forum nor anyone here. Everything right here. Is just that there are too much things to be questioned at the same time. Everything is interconnected someway in Physics, I know. Too much things to handle at the same time. The point is that I can't manage that. Same problem I would have in any other forum. It's a problem of mine...

  8. ! Moderator Note This has become agonizingly apparent. I told you we don't stoop to the intellectual dishonesty of conspiracy here at SFN. If you open any more rigor-free, unreasoned, bad-faith crap threads like this again, you're going to be instantly booted. I'm going to ask that you be put on a list of people who are pre-approved for banning on their next infraction. This is a science discussion forum. Conspiracy is expecting us to do all the digging into your mere suspicions while you do nothing but question. It's not going to happen here with you anymore.

  13. Let's try to sum up what you have presented so far: -Claim that a bright area in a video is sun reflection. -Claim that the reflection is "too small" according to some unknown measure. -Support for your claim is an artist impression of mars as, it was believed to have looked like billions of years ago. The effect, light reflected from mars soil, that you discuss is invisible in the artists work. Anyone able to spot a few logical issues with your line of reasoning? Maybe because possible explanations, such as opposition surge, is well known in the community and not a very important aspect of the landing? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opposition_surge Here is an article specifically targeting the effect on mars: https://www.jpl.nasa.gov/images/opposition-surge-sunlight-glinting-off-mars The opposition surge effect may be the reason why a bright spot appears in both missions' landing videos posted in this thread; Curiosity and Perseverance. The sun seems to be at a very similar angle relative the camera in both cases. As beecee have said from the beginning:

  15. I think continuity is an important element - Einstein hasn't stayed on a pedestal because of unthinking acceptance of his scientific contributions and adoration but as a result of continuing pursuit of science based understanding that keeps revealing how those contributions have significance. Lose the continuity of the institutions and practices of science - of advancing science - and turning purely to teaching what is known, then significant knowledge decline has probably already occurred. And without ongoing active research as well as teaching we probably will not be able to sustain the technology that modern societies and economies have become dependent on.

  16. I doubt it very much Beecee. The current Pope was trained as a Chemist, and worked in a lab ( as well as a bouncer in a club ). Previous Popes have been Mathematicians and Astronomers. Galileo was an exception; the Vatican, and the Roman Catholic Church, have a long history of supporting the Sciences. Church has long history of supporting science - Vatican - Chicago Catholic As for Prof Reza Sanaye ... What, exactly, are you a Professor of ? Obfuscation and confusing use of the English language ? And who is the wide-eyed crazy guy in your avatar ?

  18. The problem is that both the stone and the mountain are classical objects and as such share the same fundamental properties. The same is not true, however, for the chair I am sitting on and the elementary particles of which it is ultimately composed - you can’t describe the properties and interactions of these particles with Newtonian mechanics, and conversely the chair as a whole will not exhibit any quantum effects. So these are distinct categories of objects, even though there is a definite relationship between them.

  25. Democrats themselves are in bad need of reformation towards the Left. All throughout this last presidential election, Democrats were able to show of themselves the greatest-ever recorded ability to quench the not-very-hidden desire inside their party to shed off those elements striving to return Democrats back to those policies that are not paid for by the Wall Street & by the Corporate America . .. . . .The present president is not gonna go far in preventing the not-very-far-from-now total collapse of the extremely biased capitalistic system in the US of A.
