Restored the Constitution and threw out a repressive regime headed by a corrupt Russian puppet. It's what people who like press freedom and democracy do when a boot is positioned on their face. Zelenskiy won by a landslide. Did you know heavy consumption of right-wing propaganda kills brain cells as rapidly as huffing spray paint?2 points

Orion's belt at first glance, Seems to cover a mighty expanse. But a belt in the sky Leaves me wondering why No mention is made of the pants.1 point

“Corruption reforms have seen some successes in Ukraine since the Revolution of Dignity. Police reform, public procurement, and dissolution of state owned industries since 2014 have led to reduced waste and corruption” … "Although it still scores low, war-torn Ukraine is one of few significant improvers on the CPI, having gained eight points since 2013." They are rated as less corrupt than Russia (116th vs 137th) https://www.transparency.org/en/cpi/2022/index/ukr1 point

There are different types of reviews and they are not all written the same. A good review is typically written by someone who is engaged in the field and hence knows the relevant lit and can critically evaluate and synthesize the information in the field. Often when grad or undergrad student write a review, it starts off as a a list of facts and factoids out of the papers folks read (often having highly relevant and irrelevant info side by side) and needs to be heavily edited to provide real benefits to the reader. If no supervisor is involved, it is rather unlikely that an undergrad paper will be in a shape for submission to an academic journal in most areas. Yes it can. It serves more like a writing example and a potential supervisor can use it to judge your ability to read and write. However, in order for it to be seen as a plus one should spend a fair bit of time on editing it. Obviously, just reading something does not mean that you understood it. A paper that is clearly just a crude summary, plagiarized from multiple papers or contains guesswork to gloss over parts that were clearly not understood won't necessarily leave a positive impression. Conversely, a well written review that shows a certain level of understanding (or at least a serious effort to understand) even with gaps (that are ideally acknowledged) will provide potential supervisors with an idea of what capabilities a candidate might start off with.1 point

NK is a dynastic autocracy. A crap comparison. The first paragraph of your link tells us everything: Who is Ukraine fighting now but the original source of said corruption?1 point

I think that for wealthy and powerful - industrialists etc - the nation's good usually pares down to what is good for the near term profitability of their businesses and their interactions with politicians are largely transactional, making deals towards that end. Not surprising, they tend to oppose regulation or taxation and anything that they perceive as negatively affecting them (but they aren't necessarily good at the bigger picture and longer term; giving them what they think they want can end up worse, even for them, than not giving them what they want). Which makes politicians and parties that espouse such things - Right leaning - usually more to their liking, but not always if the deals others offer are good enough. The transactional nature of mixing politics and business has a "soft" corruption element (legal means of influence - advertising, PR, tankthink, lobbying, strategic donating, tactical lawfare, post politics payoffs) ultimately means influencing the making of the rules including ensuring the nature of legislation intended to limit corrupt influence doesn't limit their influence. I think corrupt influence and the inability or unwillingness within political parties to address it is one of the greatest impediments to improved governance - and we need governance that is capable of dealing with the profoundly serious challenges we collectively face.1 point

Only when Yanokovych unilaterally reneged on aligning with Europe more. When one does shitty things like that, one exposes oneself to the possibility of a popular uprising. It wasn't a coup, he disappeared and left his post vacant. ' Good, strong leader... not. Why aren't the Ukrainians fighting to remove Zelenskiy if he's a coup leader, and not their by popular will?1 point

“stealing” gravitons sounds like a reduction in gravity. That’s shielding. Without a model, there is no discussion that is allowable in speculations. This isn’t the WAG forum.1 point

They should take them seriously. Whether they are of alien origin remains to be seen, but regardless. Anything that is unidentified and especially so if it appears to be of some technology, then it needs investigating at the highest level, with the most qualified persons working on it.1 point

I'm glad the "point police" are still alive and well. I gave the downvote back because I don't think calling someone a "Mega twat" is an appropriate description of a person's behavior.-1 points

I'm going to step away from this thread as a poster, since it seems all the mods have been involved. ! Moderator Note mistermack, it doesn't present a conflict of interest for me to say that your objection to providing support for assertions you make isn't acceptable here or anyplace else on the site. "Tedious" may be your definition of "rigorous" and "reasoned" and "well-supported", but nobody else here is that sloppy. If you want to keep posting here, you need to follow the rules. Some people like to take a conversation to places it's never been. They don't care if it's dirty and uncomfortable and their conversational clothes get filthy. Conversations like that are interesting, and most folks learn a great deal from such discussions. Your discussion style, however, doesn't take us into the filth; it starts out with dirty hands, and insists on making everybody else deal with it. Our clothes don't get dirty because we were mucking about in unfamiliar places, but rather because we have to keep refuting the information you refuse to support, and get frustrated when you can't even be bothered to acknowledge it. There may not be any overall resolutions to any of our discussions, but most would like to see something close. That's only going to happen if everyone involved is arguing in good faith.-1 points

I dispute that the Ukraine govt. is legitimate, and certainly dispute that Crimea is their land. There's no may be about it. Most of the planet is out of pocket already. Except maybe the US and Saudis.-1 points

Tall and skinny people or so-called “lanky” people aren’t always physically strong but might be informative in how they still have an extreme mindset throughout their lifespan. As such obesity might occasionally be a result of competition between smaller and taller people where small people could match the tall and muscular people in terms of diet. Yet “lanky” people are a disproof that a high diet would lead to a more extreme mindset. So even if the super tall bodybuilders and basketball players all starved their diets they’d still be way more devout in their existence than overweight, smaller people. In other words taller people won’t shorten in stature if they become food deprived.-1 points

Spacetime is not even fundamental and your precious science is based on assumptions, e.g. classic model of universe sabine hossenfelder called other scientists uncritical believers, just because you can adjust it so it fits your data, scientists were using it because it was comfortable... https://iai.tv/articles/donald-hoffman-spacetime-is-not-fundamental-auid-2281 There are many extremely smart ppl which do only science like Stephen Hawking which said philosophy was dead and unwittingly without being aware of it, devised new philosophy of physics. Philosophy is in everything... Scientists do it even if they don't know about it. You don't even understand what intelligence is... https://astralcodexten.substack.com/p/were-not-platonists-weve-just-learned You don't understand that it is spectrum that someone can be extremely talented in one area, but then have shortcomings in other, that's why smart ppl cooperate, but this forum is just for others to stroke their ego... Life is game you don't understand, you are limiting yourself because you are excluding areas of knowledge and other ppl because your self-inflated ego, smart 140IQ don't because they know even 100IQ ppl will know things they don't and learn from everyone... You are too narrow minded to see that. Who do you think you are? You think you know better than biggest geniuses in history, you are so stupid... multiple even 160IQs told me i am extremely intelligent, i couldn't even use my wits because i was gaslit my whole life and slave morality, because other ppl feel treatened by me and wanted to push me down, which they successfully did, i am completely destroyed.. .just because i can't write doesn't mean i am dumb, i can learn shit, but i had fear of failure, and performance and anxiety and self-sabotage and all gifted issues, i never had even chance in the first place.. 160IQ doing 4 areas of science and philosophy told me i am extremely intelligent after like 200 pages and we had 1000 page+ convo... THERE IS NO ESCAPE AFTER DEAHT AND YOU ARE TOO WEAK TO SEE THAT, AS NIETZSCHE SAYS WILL TO TRUTH IS SLAVE TO MORE FUNDAMENTAL WILL TO POWER, EVEN EVOLUTION SUPPORT THIS, IT HIDES TRUTHS (UNLESS THEY ARE BENEFICIAL TO OUR SURVIVAL) and we evolved to sell our truth to other ppl, instead of get to the truth! Ppl just justify with logical fallacies their pre-existent believes, that's why most ppl are bad at logic, because only thing that matters is ability to sell your truth to other ppl whatever it is... Science is politically motivated and there is no freedom of speech, academia is no place for smart ppl... My 160IQ would destroy you utterly in couple sentences... you are so arrogant... YOu are lower men, i would put you to cage with pigs, you are disgust me!!!!!!! You didn't even know about ADs, supernerd laughed if it wasn't chemical imbalanced what it would be, lol didn't know about about biggest myth... On other ppl it was same thing elistists driven everyone out: https://www.scienceforums.com/topic/38439-is-this-science-forums-dying/#comment-395814 This forums is just circle jerk, it is not to discuss anything... it is really pathethic, you have no power in real life, only insecure ppl bully others, you act like teenagers, really pathetic i must say and then you accuse of what you are doing yourself... You are less than couple atoms... You are just jealous because you know you are worthless deep down... Only weak ppl hurt others, because they can't do anything themselves... I WON'T LET MYSELF TO BE GASLIT ANYMORE... YOU ARE LESS THAN DUST UNDER MY SHOES TO ME... YOU WON'T ESCAPE, YOU DON'T EVEN REALIZE IT, JUST LOOK WHAT PPL DID TO THEMSELVES IN MEDIEVAL AGES, AND AS EINSTEIN SAID: PEOPLES' STUPIDITY IS INFINITE, YOU CAN'T LEARN, YOU ARE LIKE BOTHS YOU OBEY EGO AND SOCIAL FACTORS LIKE STATUS AND NEED FOR BELONGING YOU ARE UNABLE TO EXERCISE AUTONOMY. ALL THINGS WHICH CANNOT OBEY THEMSELVES WILL OBEY OTHERS, THAT IS THE NATURE OF ALL LIVING THINGS - NIETZSCHE... JUST LOOK HOW PATHETHIC SCIENCE IS, HALF OF IT IS SERVING CORPORATIONS AND CRIMINALS AND MOST OF IT IS FOR STATUS... READ DE ROPP YOU ARE DELUSIONAL KIDS... WORLD CLASS SCIENTIST TOLD ME THAT I AM MATURE, OR SEAL TRAINEE ALL HIGH LEVEL PPL. BUT EVERYONE ELSE WANTED TO PUSH ME DOWN AND BULLIED ME MY WHOLE LIFE FOR NO REASON... YOU ARE SADISTIC! https://medium.com/@ryan.ehlers/everything-gets-forgiven-91ca2cb51df3 aGAIN YOU BELONG TO PIG PEN... LOSERS... BAN ME...-1 points
