  1. The behaviour of matter in biological systems has a large element of determinism. If a potassium ion collides with a water molecule, the end product is deterministic.. The incidence of collisions may be random, but after that the outcome is deterministic. The concept of 'design' is applicable because the outcomes of these are pre-determined by their predictable behaviour and we can see where it's going. In a purely stochastic process we can only guess. This is where the idea of evolution being a blind watchmaker came from. The problem is dichotomizing the subject to force a choice.

  2. Though he could not articulate words, AFAIK, this man came close: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Le_Pétomane The US has a dismal record on collateral damage, from which it tries to distance itself, but the apologetic tone is undermined by its support of Israel.

  3. This is chemistry. If you insist on starting from first principles of physics every time when addressing a chemistry question, you will never reach an answer for anything but the most trivially simple systems. Physics can't accurately model anything in chemistry more complex than the hydrogen molecule ion. In chemistry the systems are far too complex for that type of approach. You don't seem to have understood the question that was asked. Nobody asked about energy release. You introduced that yourself and it's not relevant. I only included some comments about it in my reply because that was the aspect that seemed to interest you. Anyway, let's see if @jeff einstein responds to this thread. Then we may see if any of this has been useful.

  5. Not I. Look how different the area is now from what was conceived by the UN. You can see with my annotations that Israel chopped gaza conveniently to separate Islamic Jordan and Egypt by shrinking most of Gaza up to the line. All they have now is two Israeli controlled checkpoints into Egypt.: Looks like systemic suppression to me. I take it for granted now Netanyahu's MO in all this is 'burying bad personal news'.

  6. You can like Palestinian people but hate the methods they use, just as you can like Israeli people ( some of whom are Palestinian ) but hate the methods they use. That is a perfectly acceptable discussion to have. But hating Jews and ascribing all sorts of bad intentions to them, like having 1400 of their people butchered and over 200 kidnapped, means you, and the person who up-voted your ignorant post, are anti-Semite. ( or possibly, had a great uncle named Adolf ) Is that 'asshole' enough for you ?

  7. Israel kills about 9,000 civilians in order to kill a few hundred Hamas fighters. And they call it self defence. Real self defence would have involved more security around Gaza in the first place. I really do think that Israel wanted all of this. They enticed Hamas to launch an attack with lapse security, so that they would have an excuse to go into Gaza. It has a whiff of "final solution" about it. A few thousand Israeli lives lost is worth it to people like Benjamin Netanyahu, it advances the eradication of the "Palestinian Problem" and solidifies his own position. A few weeks ago, he was on a growing rack, with anti government demonstrations and reservists refusing to serve. All of that is history now. Sheer luck? I don't think so.

  8. Good grief. The "missing piece" is the design without a design. There's no such thing- It's a contradiction as I've already pointed out numerous times. The process of evolution isn't that of design. There is no design in nature unless someone is fielding some sort of Intelligent Design argument (ironic given the reply I got above) I'm going to take TheVat's advice and ignore you and your replies. Not going to spend any more time with some school child whose concept of design is expressed with his ridiculous post about his parents having sex.
