  1. Ok I do not care about this reddit thing, go somewhere else about it. neither the OP or myself are apart of Lamarcus Sm*lls forum. Or at least I assume he isn't given there's only like 400 people posting there compared to the millions who'd be ready to self-identify as involuntarily celibate or whatever shortened variation. Can you imagine being so narrowly focused? It'd be like me claiming every single person who self-identifies as incel subscribes to "vaginocapitalism theory" just because the originator of that theory leads the self-identified incels in Russia.

  2. These are not new arguments born from masculinities or failure to accept whatever recent version of feminism. The arguments about guaranteeing sexual matters in some way while comparing them to phenomena such as homelessness. Arguing for incels, and arguing against petite-bougie sexual behaviour among women in market economies has a long history in human left-wing thought, not just some Reddit right-wing or misogynistic subculture from 2016.

  3. nah the first page of this thread is universally negative, people were ready to complain about some reddit subculture he doesn't belong to or something he isn't entitled to anyone but there probably is someone for him out there

  4. I can't speak for him but I know for sure there I had never met a single person willing to date me from 2005-2018 that was female and not monogamously married. And I tried. Things changed after that. I didn't change, but at some point I started vlogging out of frustration, resulting in 8-9 females willing to date me, some of whom did, and I appreciate them. But I can sympathize with incels because I know incel is real. There might be someone for everyone, but people sometimes cannot find that someone. One of my favorite hobbies is helping to pair up people rather than rag on people who want to be paired.

  5. The (current) incel culture seems to be an internet phenomenon and in its current form is highly aligned with misogyny. Because of the recency of this movement, most publicants are quite new, but I believe some have drawn connections to other misogynist movements. Interestingly, the term itself was originally coined by a woman but as all things internet, things eventually moved to a very different place (https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-45284455). A common theme with this research seems to be that the extreme (and sometimes violent) outcrops of this movement are associated with internet-based reinforcement of grievances, coupled with a strong rejections to address underlying psychological issues (see e.g. https://www.jstor.org/stable/27026635). It is obvious that these are self-reinforcing vicious cycles. Misogyny is a bit of a connecting tissue where all the related grievances are connected and cemented. As we also see here, affected men arrive with certain misogynist preconceptions into these communities. There are more detailed investigations into how these tendencies are expressed and one way to look at that is in how incels express masculinity. From what I understand, some common concepts include hegemonic masculinity, in which society is seen as hierarchic with (certain) men on top whereas women and other forms of masculinity are assumed to be naturally subordinate (to whatever ideal they have in mind). A related concept is that of hybrid masculinity in which masculinity is constructed from different bits and pieces and create hegemonies that are less traditional. In the context of incel, this is interesting as the hegemonic tendencies are usually front and center. But interestingly, they also see themselves as victim of... something. The something can differ between individuals and sub-groups, but ultimately, hegemonic masculinity is then perpetuated by proclaiming a type of hybrid masculinity. Common examples include that they are victim of feminism (despite being the stronger men) but they can also adopt subjugated position related to e.g. (perceived or real) mental issues, looks, socioeconomic status and so on. The discrepancy between where they think they should be in society (due to the hegemonic perspective) and where they are, allows (or forces) them to adopt this incongruent stance in order to be both, perpetuator and victim at the same time. A potential reason of not wanting to improve their situation is possible that any improvement would clash with their deeply ingrained worldview. After all, if the world is crazy, lack of success is not their fault. Yet if they get partial success by improving things, it might suggest that they have been wrong after all. And that is a tough pill to swallow.

  6. Just to amplify exchemists last point, the foundational premise of this thread that fires are a bigger problem in EVs is simply false and is likely an example of buying into the unfounded partisan propaganda on this topic. https://www.forbes.com/sites/neilwinton/2024/04/21/electric-vehicles-not-guilty-of-excess-short-term-fire-risk-charges/# EVs represented far less of the reported fires than might be expected given their market share. Estimates by the Phosphorous, Inorganic & Nitrogen Flame Retardants Association reported 55 fires per billion miles travelled in ICE vehicles and five fires per billion for EVs. A report from AutoinsuranceEX said EVs exhibited 61 times fewer fires per 100,000 sales than ICE vehicles. https://www.topgear.com/car-news/mythbusting-evs/mythbusting-world-evs-are-electric-cars-susceptible-catching-fire The Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB) reported 23 fires in 611,000 EVs during 2022, or 0.004 per cent in a year, which makes it 20 times less likely to happen than ICE car fires, which burned 3,400 times in 4.4 million cars, or 0.08 per cent. MSB has also recently proven a new way to extinguish battery fires fast.

  7. The answer to that question is all around you. Wind, solar and nuclear already provide a big proportion of electricity generation. Wind and solar are now less costly than fossil fuel generation. Battery fires are very rare, much rarer than with fossil fuelled vehicles, though certainly harder to extinguish.

  9. Listen; you are a man. Women are women. What you think makes a man attractive is not what women think makes a man attractive. In fact, it sounds like everything you are doing, is more likely to attract another man or a very superficial women. Whether you think it is logical or reasonable that a women was more into some fat furry while paying you zero attention, that's the reality of it. Women aren't even all the same when it comes to what attracts them. Some like goofiness, people who don't take themselves too seriously or aren't too critical or self centred. Hell, any guy who meaningfully engages with a child in front of women immediately gains attraction points. Let me put this to you in a way I think you'll appreciate; you've worked on the body it seems, I'm sure you look great and it sounds like you take care of yourself. Hell, I may even pick your brain as admittedly it sounds like you're better at that stuff than I am via exercise. Where you need to focus on now, is sculpting and molding your fault personality. Honestly if I'll say anything about this incel stuff, it's just not pragmatic to believe in. At all. It's all a major turn off for women and the culture is only becoming more known about by more women. So let it go. You do not understand women very well and you need to develop that as well as empathy for women and their worries, fears and concerns when it comes to men, if you expect to have any romantic success. Focus here and now, forget about the past. Forget what you think you know about women. You've got a choice to make. Either you can keep grieving over past romantic failures and stay in the incel self fulfilling prophecy cycle until you're old, bitter and not in good physical shape.... Or, you can swallow a bit of pride, chip your ego away a bit and listen to those of us here who together know enough about women to help you change your perspective enough to make you be the rest of the change you need to be successful. I don't know what your upbringing was like, but honestly I'm kind of pissed at your dad for letting things get like this for you. Based on what you said about your age, we are about the same age. I've been married, I have kids and I've always gotten along well with women for the most part and I spent time as a stay at home parent so have walked a mile in what used to be the traditionally female shoes... but without the heels, I'm tall enough already. Closing thoughts; you're obviously too intelligent to be allowed to keep burrowing deeper into the incel rabbit hole. So here is a lifeline, take it or leave it, just remember if you leave it you'll keep going in circles until you drown. I didn't want to come right out and say it but no, Narcissism is Malignant self-love. What does it mean for self-love to be malignant? When your love of yourself gets in the way of a crucial aspect of life. For example; not being able to keep a job or attract women. Based on your struggles with women, you do kind of qualify as there being something psychiactric or neurological holding you back from being able to attain what you need as a human for a full and happy life. There is definitely something going on and I'm not saying this from a place of judgement or saying it makes you a bad person and this isn't an insult. But you do need help, and on some level you are aware of that because you're seeking answers from strangers on the internet. Listen it's not great having to admit you have a problem but I think most of us have been there, I certainly have! But a strong person can admit when there is a problem with themselves and seek help for it. So make a change. You have some very smart people talking to you right now all saying similarly and while no one here is qualified to diagnose you with anything, we are smart enough to know when someone has a problem they need to fix in themselves based on how they write. Yup, even if you disagree with the proposals or claims being made. Make the claim in it's strongest format. Always. +1 iNow is just being a good example of the fact there are social consequences even to the views we hold and share with others and that should maybe tell you something about those views. You've made plenty of statements sharing your own frustrations, irritations etc so can you blame others for being irritated with you?

  10. Success as a criminal, perhaps, because white-collar crimes aren’t prosecuted as readily or fervently as other crimes, and money allows one to avoid lots of issues, but successful as a businessman? He has repeatedly failed. Bankruptcies left and right. His personal success has been the ability to extract money from his ventures and leave others holding the bag. His “success” at politics has been one election, aided by Russian interference and criminal acts.

  11. Somehow, after almost a decade since the TFG splooged onto the national political stage, a thread about how horrible a person he is seems like a topic akin to Poop Stinks or Water is Wet or Puppies are Cute. The principal difference being that dwelling on poop, water, or puppies are all far better uses of your time. All you need to know is what you probably knew by 2017: he is a sociopath and narcissist currently well on the way to full blown dementia. God or Ontologically Neutral Universe help us all, if he wins in November.

  12. Number One: what methods could be used to greatly reduce the risk that fire will will result from the batteries? Number Two: what technology could be used to protect people and dogs inside the car from death or serious injury in case a battery-related fire did break out (or was on the verge of breaking out) while people and dogs were still in the car, parked or moving? There is both a very hot and violent burning hazard and a highly toxic smoke hazard. A fuel-related fire inside the engine compartment of a gasoline automobile, at least, is going to burn rather tame and the engine compartment and firewall is going to keep the flames and heat away from people inside the cabin for a while anyway. No flames are going to shoot out from the sides in a gasoline car. But how in the devil are you going to step outside of an EV with the blow-torch flames shooting right out where the door entrance is? There seems to be no federally-mandated fire safety standards for EVs at this time. How many people will burn to death inside these things antil Uncel Sam "does something" about it? Videos like this scare me:

  13. This whole "anti-self-identified-incel" sentiment reminds me of the "yay science is great" human memes in r/SanFrancisco cheering that right-wing conservative supreme court justices might make arresting the homeless slightly more legal soon in Grants Pass vs. Johnson. Their position, and the position of the supreme court would be that "involuntariness" can always be argued as "voluntary", including in matters outside of homelessness. And furthermore that "cruelty against the self-professed involuntary is not actually cruelty because they can voluntarily escape their sitaution". They keep arguing that in r/SanFrancisco about the homeless in their city and natonwide. The opinion about involuntariness vs voluntariness in all human spheres was also a preliminary Supreme Court opinion by a right-wing supreme court justice in Grants Pass vs. Johnson. That argument of course has nothing to do with science and probably more to do with the political opinions of those human memes. Peel back the cover of the extreme center posing as the left and, much like the right, you'll find punching down and also engaging in pointless human cruelty, because the center can't explain why it exists or even identify what is going on around itself. Or even that the cause of political issues involving personal responsibility on a societal scale might be itself. "My recurring fantasy, through this period, was to have been born a woman, or a gay man, or best of all, completely asexual, so that I could simply devote my life to math, like my hero Paul Erdös did. Anything, really, other than the curse of having been born a heterosexual male, which for me, meant being consumed by desires that one couldn’t act on or even admit without running the risk of becoming an objectifier or a stalker or a harasser or some other creature of the darkness." "All this time, I faced constant reminders that the males who didn’t spend months reading and reflecting about feminism and their own shortcomings—even the ones who went to the opposite extreme, who engaged in what you called “good old-fashioned ass-grabbery”—actually had success that way. The same girls who I was terrified would pepper-spray me and call the police if I looked in their direction, often responded to the crudest advances of the most Neanderthal of men by accepting those advances. Yet it was I, the nerd, and not the Neanderthals, who needed to check his privilege and examine his hidden entitlement!" "Is there any relevant difference between the two cases beyond: “undesirability” of the disabled, fat, and trans should be critically examined and interrogated, because those people are objects of progressive sympathy; whereas “undesirability” of nerdy white and Asian males should be taken as a brute fact or even celebrated, because those people are objects of progressive contempt?" People of conscience will need to be extremely vigilant against motte-and-bailey tactics—wherein opinion-makers will express their desire for all “incels” to be silenced or fired or removed from the gene pool or whatever, obviously having in mind all romantically frustrated male nerds (all of whom they despise), and will fall back when challenged (and only when challenged) on the defense that they only meant the violence-loving misogynists." --Scott Aaronson, award-winning American professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scott_Aaronson https://scottaaronson.blog/?p=3766 Incels are the victims of patriarchy, monogamy, and selfish attitudes. This will be fixed in Feminism 5.0, which involves a new legion of tomboy females. If the incels' demands are not met by the tomboy legion there will be more diplomatic talks with the various parties involved.

  14. You're absolutely right. Whining over time I can't get back, opportunities passed because of obligations which were supposed to be rewarded according to the information I'd been given. From just those two posts an elected official interested in stable fusion and all that electromechanical engineering that automates inputs for it to boot, need only look at those two quotes for a 360 degree angle breakdown of the 9/11 or Pompeii scale of how royally my time's been f-ed. If it's anything it's not my attitude, I've said multiple times that outwardly I remain cordial inside my most furious states of being, it's the constant displacement. My social structure is the same as the nonexistent bone structure of a jellyfish but only because of how limited I am in my placement and how long it lasts. So at least fix that, first take wherever I am and start thinking opposite side of the country or as far away as possible from my current placement.

  15. I've offered better solutions than anyone else. I can't make that happen, I'm not the government I can't offer discounts for favoring me as a courtship candidate. I could keep going on about think-tank solutions they'd only be used for people who haven't been proven to be able to retrace non-documented origins of widely used Arithmetic, as I have lately. It's none of these names: List of world's smartest people It's me, my name isn't on that list because I have two contacts, my immediate family. My SSN has nothing but an arrest record attached to it, NO FURTHER DETAILS. I am completely unknown but when it comes down to it I might be able express why neutrinos are able to phase through matter using arithmetic. Guess we'll never know because I'm not willing to even be willing to give you the chance to make me willing to explain that as I did my workout routine. Getting fit is simple, it's just difficult. All that engineering and math stuff is not simple to figure out. I could explain in a simple way if I really cared to.

  16. Seriously I want everyone that has been sending me negative reputations to take a long look at themselves in the mirror after carefully viewing this chart If you look at the colors in the chart and compare that to reputations, justify the reason you're giving them and see if you don't in reality fall along the victim side in doing so. Some believe the color green has been associated with jealousy dating back to the ancient Greeks. They believed jealousy occurred as result of the overproduction of bile, which turned human skin slightly green. One potential explanation for the color red being associated with power is that this color is often used to draw attention. 9 This increased attention signifies that something is important, and power and importance often go hand in hand.

  18. This comes from it being the color of blood. Which has nothing to do with why I found it aesthetic when I was too young to even think about it. You know what the color green looks like? Vomit. You know at least blood doesn't smell as bad as stomach acid. As far as the wavelength of light goes, at least red is at one end of the spectrum. On the end is fricken purple. It's like difference between masculine and feminine. Red being the longest wavelength more heat dispersal, purple the shortest and therefore more hot-tempered. Blue and green aren't even at either side of the spectrum, they don't even matter.

  19. Those aren't even the reasons I'm opposed to use of medication in the first place. Not one of those points touch on the fact that a chemical, however complex, just isn't sufficient to rewire an entire labyrinth of synaptic-patterns in real-time. Alcohol and any mind-altering substance simply can't compete with a living working brain. In general. There is no wonder drug, there never will be. You know what else a psychiatrist does? Apply a massive voltage to the brain. They also poke needles into it through the eyeball.
