  1. The idea of a businessperson being able to lead a country is laughable. Countries don't operate like businesses. Countries HAVE to arrange priorities differently, while every single business needs to make a profit. Profit is NOT on a country's list of priorities anywhere. A democracy like the US should be paving the way for the success of all its citizens, not just the richest. The billionaires have sucked dry most people's ability to prosper by valuing their own efforts several hundred times more than the efforts of the average person. None of the businessmen who've been POTUS have done anything spectacular for the country. Bush II took a balanced budget and a surplus (federal deficit erased) and left the country with US$3.293T (Trillion) in deficits, and gave away our ability to negotiate drug prices with Big Pharma. TFG was twice as bad in half the time. You may love them, but billionaires and businesspeople are NOT out to help others, and that should be the key asset of any politician. Public servants aren't splashy and entertaining, but they also give a shit about everyday people, unlike the billionaires who exploit them for profit. Public servants aren't taught to Deny, Defend, Depose.

  2. mmm That is just....what on earth goes through some peoples heads....how many people could he have fed with that money...and all he got was a banana. Emperors new clothes springs to mind... I only seem to get sick on weekdays. I must have a weekend immune system. My friend was showing me his tool shed and pointed to a ladder. “That's my stepladder,” he said. "I never knew my real ladder.”

  3. Fictional characters are not alive. Unfortunately that is what folks believe, contrary to all evidence but also simple logic (i.e., differences in outcomes, priorities, goals, mechanisms, procedures etc.).

  4. You (and Tetrode) are describing the emission of a photon by an atom and its subsequent absorption by another - obviously at a different location. That is not what entanglement is. To produce entanglement one needs a process that results in a pair (or more) of QM entities together, such that they are correlated: their quantum state can only be described for the combined system and not for the individual entities. You do not have that when an atom emits or absorbs a photon. You have misinterpreted what Tetrode was talking about. I think you have also misunderstood what the Cramer & Mead paper is about. It proposes a mechanism for wave function collapse in the course of an interaction. That has nothing specifically to do with entanglement either. It is completely general to all QM interactions, whether the participating entities are entangled or not. (By the way, it looks to me as if it assumes an interpretation of QM in which the wave function is a physical thing, rather than a description of information about the system. As such it would appear to be at odds with some other interpretations of QM, such as the Copenhagen or the Relational interpretations. But I don't profess to be expert on that subject.)

  5. As a former D&D player, I do not really see the issue here.

  6. If Steve Jobs can run for office, then I would support the New Hope for the Dead ticket! Then again, being dead for 13 years, Jobs might not be as emotionally invested in the needs of the living. (i.e. typical Republican)

  7. Trerl probably just doesn’t read much. Terel might’ve just made an honest mistake. Trool surely wasn’t trolling. He certainly wasn’t consciously being disrespectful or childishly dismissive, isn’t that right, Tool? That would be below, Trurl and I trust they recognize a phonetic spelling would be Comma,La.

  8. Why would you spell anyone's name phonetically on a discussion forum? Most of us know how it's pronounced, so we don't need you to dumb it down for us (you also didn't spell it phonetically, you went out of your way to put "camel" in there for some reason). And if you hadn't noticed, your crowd (MAGA) loves to mispronounce anything that doesn't sound white or Christian, even though there are no white people in the Bible. It's done in derision, like non-white names are too stupid to bother with pronouncing them correctly.
