  1. We’ve locked the door behind Frank Martin DiMeglio

  2. Yes, I had a 2 year or so period when I'd just got my guitar and was trying every string make and type out there until I settled on Ernie Ball Earthwood bronze 11's. A guitar playing friend called me that and that was what popped up in my head when I joined here. In retrospect, I should have left it until the guitar dried out and settled down before doing that. I made it harder for myself to settle on string choice because it was changing all the time in the first two or three years. The action doesn't seem to have moved in the six years it's been away, so I presume it is settled now. To get over the self-conscious/pressure thing, I've thought of playing in front of a mirror and frequently recording/reviewing myself might settle the nerves of playing in front of others. At the end of the day, we get out of it what we want, even if it's just noodling now and again. The sound of a live guitar and feeling its vibrations is a pretty good way to meditate and get away from normal life for a while.

  3. Very good. This nutcase has actually published a book: https://authorfrankdimeglio.blogspot.com/2013/06/author-frank-dimeglio-is-real-agenda-of.html The link is quite funny. After several tirades from Frank, somebody else shows up to ask: "Are you a real person?".😆 And that is the sole comment from anyone other than Frank.

  4. The 'Laws' of the universe follow from symmetries. See Noether's Theorem. The Isotropy and homogeneity of the universe and its 'Laws' is due to causal contact, which means parts cannot be separated by a distance that light ( information ) cannot have travelled in an expanding universe, so, at some point in time, the universe must have been small enough to be in causal contact, See Inflation Theory. Scientific models have to be reproducible, and make testable predictions. The reproducibility and predictions have to be quantified, otherwise you are just 'hand-waving'. And that means math.

  5. Bye Bye idiots. You can't be that stupid, but you are definitely an ass.

  6. I'm surprised clown fish haven't showed up or invasive corals, spreading animals beyond their native range is one thing humans have been doing since well before records were being kept. Once we domesticated animals and started bringing them with us while we conquered the globe... it's what we do!

  7. Time is part of the making of the tone, like wine its bouquet. Also, you know that guitar and can get the sound you want out of it. With a new guitar you have to start again.

  8. Oops, misread that - had it built, had built it. My own guitar is Takamine C136s classical, which was acquired more by chance than intent. I'd always thought it sounded good but it is getting in need of re-fretting and has two splits in the top (from a drought/extreme low humidity a few years back) so I tried out a couple of classical guitars at a local music shop. None sounded anywhere near as good. When finances permit I'll have it repaired.

  9. Thanks. I've now done a bit of investigation on the web and its seems a number of suppliers now only use biodegradable components. Apparently even the glue used to seal the bags can be an issue, as you say. Perhaps this example gives us an insight into just how pervasive plastic materials have become in modern life, and how much attention to detail is required to reverse out all the myriad ways they are, innocently but thoughtlessly, used. Afterthought: I've just had a look at cans (tins) used for food and drink and, yep, they have plastic liners that can leach microplastics too. So before I get too smug about brewing loose leaf tea, as I aways have, I need to pay attention to tinned tuna and sardines, and the tinned anchovies and tomatoes that I use for pasta sauces. The steel for cans used to be coated, electrolytically I presume, with tin to prevent corrosion by the contents, something known as tinplate, hence the British English terms "tin" and "tinned" where N Americans say "can" and "canned". Perhaps we should go back to tinplate.

  10. A new view angle from the twin towers tragedy, a chap just uploaded after 23 years. It's quite clear the collapse starts at the sites of impact and not a detonation at the bottom by a secret government cabal.

  11. Almost three years after the OP, here is the status. One of the main lionfish hunters got bends while hunting lionfish and left the island long ago together with her partner, the other lionfish hunting champion. Since COVID, lionfish hunting practically has stopped. It is not promoted anymore. The result: no effect whatsoever. The lionfish is there, there is no more and no less of it, as well as the rest of the reef. Evidently, the devastating effect that has been predicted, was in fact a myth.

  12. Good point, apparently babies can do this as a response to entering water,

  13. Such replies usually have the meaning "if someone threatens me with nukes, it is rational for me to surrender". No, it is not rational: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicken_(game) If Putin and Kim win through their nuclear threats, their appetites will increase and at the next step Putin will say that he will start a nuclear war if the West don't purchase the Russian oil at a high price.

  14. Thanks guys. I think it is important to clarify that my so called "cold water" is much warmer than 15°C.

  15. Here is a relevant section from the RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution) online safety advice on cold water shock: https://rnli.org/safety/know-the-risks/cold-water-shock The body responds to an abrupt loss of heat from a sudden immersion in cold water by shutting down the peripheral blood circulation. This muscular vasoconstriction effect can cause an upward spike in systolic blood pressure. If someone happens to have a latent aneurysm (weak spot) in a blood vessel in their brain, then this spike can cause a rupture and haemorrhage.

  16. No, I didn't consider this connection. Thank you. Interesting, but the connection to the water temperature is not clear to me. It could be a coincidence that the water happened to be cold, couldn't it? Maybe the plunging head-first did it. Or jumping itself, if he had an undiscovered brain aneurysm. Etc.

  17. I would argue that is what I am doing. I am taking a principle from holography (but the same idea is in other fields as well) and applying it to the universe as a whole, and suddenly, I get all this explanatory stuff before I even get to the maths. So I reckon this is a good place to start. And if true it will be self-evident so while supporting evidence is nice it is not required.

  18. A galaxy is invisible AND visible SPACE in fundamental equilibrium AND BALANCE. There is no dark matter. DIMEGLIO SURPASSES NEWTON AND EINSTEIN: TIME is NECESSARILY possible/potential AND actual ON/IN BALANCE. INDEED, consider what is the fourth dimension; AS the stars AND PLANETS are POINTS in the night sky; AS two AND three dimensional SPACE are BALANCED; AS SPACE is (CLEARLY) proven to be electromagnetic/gravitational ON/IN BALANCE !!!! Consider TIME AND time dilation ON BALANCE, AS gravity/acceleration involves what is BALANCED inertia/inertial resistance; AS the rotation of WHAT IS THE MOON matches the revolution; AS WHAT IS THE MOON will (and does) move away very, very, very slightly in relation to WHAT IS THE EARTH/ground !!!! TIME dilation is CLEARLY and necessarily proven to be electromagnetic/gravitational ON/IN BALANCE !!!! (Consider TIME AND time dilation ON BALANCE.) This CLEARLY proves what is THE FOURTH dimension (ON BALANCE). Great. WHAT IS E=MC2 is taken directly from F=MA, AS gravity AND ELECTROMAGNETISM/energy are linked AND BALANCED opposites; AS the stars AND PLANETS are POINTS in the night sky. Consider TIME AND time dilation ON BALANCE, AS gravity/acceleration involves what is BALANCED inertia (inertial resistance); AS the rotation of WHAT IS THE MOON matches the revolution; AS WHAT IS THE MOON will (and does) move away very, very, very slightly in relation to WHAT IS THE EARTH/ground !!!! Fantastic !!!!! (TIME is NECESSARILY possible/potential AND actual ON/IN BALANCE.) GREAT. TOTAL GENIUS. TOTAL PERFECTION. By Frank Martin DiMeglio

  19. The Sun's density being about one-fourth that of Earth IS consistent with the concepts of TIME, TIME dilation, the fourth dimension, F=MA, AND WHAT IS E=MC2, AS gravity/acceleration involves WHAT IS BALANCED inertia/inertial resistance; AS the stars AND PLANETS are POINTS in the night sky; AS the rotation of WHAT IS THE MOON matches the revolution; AS WHAT IS E=MC2 is taken directly from F=MA; AS TIME is NECESSARILY possible/potential AND actual ON/IN BALANCE. Great. I have CLEARLY proven WHAT IS the fourth dimension. I have CLEARLY solved WHAT IS the coronal heating "problem". INDEED, consider what is THE EYE; AS two AND three dimensional SPACE are BALANCED in accordance WITH WHAT IS the fourth dimension !!!! GREAT !!!! NOW, consider sphericity. Consider WHAT ARE neutron stars. Consider what is a galaxy. Consider what is lightning. Consider what are galactic jets. Excellent !!!! Consider WHAT ARE supergiant stars. Finally, consider WHAT ARE OBJECTS; AND piece it ALL together. It ALL CLEARLY does make perfect sense. Think. (BALANCE AND completeness go hand in hand.) By Frank Martin DiMeglio .
