  1. From the fact that calling it the F-Trump would’ve pleased the wrong audiences. 🥸

  2. @Killtech, I think you are on the verge of realising that c (and the other fundamental constants) must be constant because when we measure something, it is relative to the definition of the units that have been used, and therefore, in order to obtain a definite value for a measurement, the units of measurement have to be assumed to be intrinsically constant.

  3. I must have missed that executive order and it's really fucked up, that Trump is so deranged and ridiculous that if you told me he had legit signed an executive order trying to claim Obama is Kenyan, I'd probably believe it. Oh my God has he actually done that? Yeah I need to start thwarting keyword exploits now and may have to pare down my online presence and hide anything anti-TFG I've said. Still waiting for the conditions on my GC to be removed and they are demanding immigrants social media info now to apply for new GCs or to naturalise. I was going to become a citizen of the USA in a few short years from now, but with Trump in the Whitehouse and the USA going to hell, might be better to just keep my British citizenship as an exit clause. Honestly if my daughter wasn't American I'd already be gone. She and my girlfriend are all that keep me here at this point. That said, if things start to get a little to... Reich like, I'd rather be where the resistance to that needs to be, but maybe I'd send my daughter back to the UK at least. Solidaridad immigrante!

  5. London Heathrow airport has been completely shut down today by a major fire in a nearby electricity distribution substation which also took out power to 62,000 local residents. Authorities say that it may take a number of days to restore power to the airport, and air travellers are being advised to avoid Heathrow completely until further notice. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/cly24zvvwxlt The fire at the North Hyde electricity substation in Hayes began last night at 23:33 GMT with an explosion in a large transformer which set some 25,000 litres of cooling oil on fire, destroying both the transformer and a nearby backup generator. This is a nightmare scenario for firefighters, because the cooling oil is electrically conductive. You cannot fight a fire like this without first de-energising the entire substation. One point that has already attracted the attention of power engineers is that a power distribution substation of this type has extensive monitoring equipment which is designed to detect dielectric stress or thermal overload. They are also equipped with a safety cutout known as Bucholz relay which detects the presence of gas in oil-filled transformers caused by dielectric failure. These relays quickly trigger alarms and disconnect the power feeds, and have been in use since 1940. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buchholz_relay In the case of a major civilian airport like Heathrow, critical systems like the ground approach radars used by the ATC tower are run on a ‘Reverse Standby’ system - meaning that those systems are normally powered at all times by special generator sets, and they only lapse back onto national grid power if the local generator sets fail. The reason why Heathrow was completely shut down was because of the large number of other systems such as check-in, ticketing, digital signage and passport control computer systems which aren’t protected by reverse standby arrangements - Terminals 2 and 4 still have no power according to latest reports.

  6. Except again, he is business man, but not a scientist. Bezos founded Blue Origin, but no one calls him a scientist because of that. It is fine to say that one admires his entrepreneurship and his business sense (until recently, perhaps). But I don't think it helps your argument by describing him as something he isn't.

  7. I am not talking about legal rights. Because there are no legal rights at all, there is law. And responsibility for crossing a line. I think my words are the same: I am not talking about legal rights. Because there are no legal rights at all, there is law. And responsibility for crossing a line.
