Solar panels generate low-voltage DC. Trying to convert it to high-voltage AC (230 V/110 V) (which is used by typical incandescent lightbulbs), then going back to DC which typical devices need (computers, laptops, LCD/LED TV, kitchen devices), is introducing yet another way to waste energy on two required transformers DC-AC and AC-DC.. But it requires completely different system of delivery of power to entire building (e.g. have direct 5 V, 12 V DC electricity sockets), which must be designed at early stage of building project. ps. Extension of idea: have special paint which after painting the all apartments walls will absorb energy from photons.. and take energy directly from the all walls to buildings power supply..

Interesting thought, Phi. In that case offer of apartments with already installed solar panels should be accelerating this technology. Developers of houses should compete with other developers on the market, giving built-in solar panels on the walls of buildings they sell to customers, on the roof of buildings, or already built-in other elements (see Musk's solar-panel-tile on the roof, indistinguishable from normal tile).. Musk's "sin" is that he wants too much from the cake, too large return from investment straight away (therefor unacceptable prices for typical customers).. Solar-panel-pavement-tile.. Solar-panel-road (and transfer of energy to cars while they are flying above it)... I want such things everywhere.. There is a lot of space for them, everywhere..

@koti I see potential in her. She doesn't know something, but is asking questions. Better than not knowing something, and trying to remain ignorant.. Don't you think so? Unfortunately, reaction of your colleague, will learn her to stop asking questions in the future... -
Sort of. Close enough supernova explosion (or other cosmic scale catastrophe) can wipe out entire life on neighborhood planets.. X-rays and gamma photons can be on the way already.

Did you rather mean astronomy.. ? You won't find astrology on science forums..

What has been brought by newspapers mentioned in the OP, are purely economic differences, not racial differences.. Poor people don't send their children to schools (especially in old times when there was no obligatory and free primary schools for everybody!).. So somebody trying to talk with them might get incorrect impression they are not bright. But it is result of their poorness, not racial differences.

Honestly, I would love to have such conversation.. This is very common misconception. Greek's "elements classification" is modern "state of the matter" classification.. Fire = plasma state, ground = solid state, water = liquid state, air = gaseous state of the matter.. If they found Gold ("ground-element"="solid state") do you think they treat/think it is the same as e.g. Silver (also "ground-element").. ? Obviously not.. -
OP wants to move in virtual reality, and remain motionless in reality. In kinect you have to move for computer to capture your movement and translate to game world. He wants to have sort of "mental kinect". The real thought of movement has to cause action in the game engine.

Photosynthesis works only when there is natural or artificial light source. So typically just half-day, or so, plants/algae/autotrophs can do it. Respiration has to be done entire day, no matter, if there is light source or not animal or human has to do it. Imagine graph with two axes. X-axis is time (24h), and Y-axis amount of produced/exhaled O2/CO2 (in Liters or mL per second or hour, for example). Make two of such (e.g. different color line) for autotrophs and heterotrophs. Calculate area of graph for each kind. Heterotrophs line will be almost straight line entire day. Autotrophs line will be curve, going up in daylight and then down.. Prepare such graphs for different kind of autotrophs, grass, small tree, large tree, etc. etc. Some kind of large plant/tree might exhale more O2 than human requires per day. Your question is way too general. There is needed e.g. area of tree leafs or amount of autotrophs and their kind, to be able to calculate how much they will exhale O2 (and whether it'll be enough for single human to survive).

Sorry for my pedanticism. But respiration does not break down CO2.. Larger molecules are burned and CO2 is outcome..

Why do we have to write so many highschool papers?

Are not you shopping? Without mathematical knowledge, you would not know how much to pay, or whether the clerk calculated the right price and returned the appropriate rest. Your binocular vision of eyes and in your brain is utilizing Pythagoras triangle to calculate distance to objects, to see in 3D. -
Quote from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hair "Hair growth begins inside the hair follicle. The only "living" portion of the hair is found in the follicle. The hair that is visible is the hair shaft, which exhibits no biochemical activity and is considered "dead". " What you called "dead ends of hair" would be more appropriate to call "damaged tips of hair" (as entire visible hair is dead). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trichoptilosis "There is no remedy for split ends beyond trimming the affected hair." Natural curling of hair is result of internal structure of protein molecule and disulfide bonds. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disulfide#In_hair_and_feathers "In hair and feathers Over 90% of the dry weight of hair comprises proteins called keratins, which have a high disulfide content, from the amino acid cysteine. The robustness conferred in part by disulfide linkages is illustrated by the recovery of virtually intact hair from ancient Egyptian tombs. Feathers have similar keratins and are extremely resistant to protein digestive enzymes. Different parts of the hair and feather have different cysteine levels, leading to harder or softer material. Manipulating disulfide bonds in hair is the basis for the permanent wave in hairstyling. Reagents that affect the making and breaking of S−S bonds are key, e.g., ammonium thioglycolate. The high disulfide content of feathers dictates the high sulfur content of bird eggs. The high sulfur content of hair and feathers contributes to the disagreeable odor that results when they are burned."

In similar cases I am turning on "Sensei-mode", and try to explain things to people. Three months ago, I was explaining how to measure distance to distant stars using parallax technique to clerk in the shop with alcohol at 2-3 at night. -
"Asian squat" is pretty unpleasant for people who are not doing it entire life e.g. Europeans. It looks like this: Einstein's words are just description "how it looks like" for people who have no idea.. (now we can simply show photo instead) He was talking about Chinese people, he met during travel, one hundred years ago.. about poor and hungry people living there in unacceptable now conditions.. Hungry people are rarely spiritful/vigorous..

It's plausible to revert specialized cell, back to stem cell, and then it can become whatever is needed by researcher.. Keyword to search (by OP) "cellular dedifferentiation". Start from buying microscope.. Did you read this? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cellular_differentiation

At low enough velocities Special Relativity kinetic energy equation is indistinguishable from classical one: [math]m_0c^2\gamma - m_0c^2 \approx \frac{1}{2}m_0v^2[/math] The same with relativistic-momentum and non-relativistic one: [math]m_0 v \gamma \approx m_0 v [/math] ([math]\gamma \approx 1.0 [/math] )

Yeah, instead of making full 3 dimensional version, sometimes 2 dimensional or 1 dimensional is easier to check whether formula has any sense. If something does not want to work in 2D, the most likely won't work in 3D either.

Let's make question even simpler: what are annihilation branches of electron-positron.. ? Do you have any idea? What energy is released in this event.. ? ps. The thing is, you have no idea about quantum physics..
-
I limited the case to "annihilation of proton-antiproton at rest" not without a reason. Because it considerably limits number of possible answers e.g. higher energy particles can be omitted in answer.. But you completely didn't understand it.. I am expecting precise answers. After all, you came here with "ToE" and wanted questions from quantum physicists, which will prove or disprove your theory.. So far, no answers.
-
Quantum annihilation is absolutely correct word. It has been misused in sci-fi movies.. and laymen started to use it to describe state of non-existence.. Even if somebody destroys/burns something in the real world, there are remaining (at least) carbon dioxide and water. Annihilation happens when particle is interacting with its antiparticle.. I am asking for precise data and calculations how did you get to it. What particles are created during annihilation of proton-antiproton, in what quantity for each branch, with what probabilities of happening for each branch, with what energies for each annihilation branch, what are allowed modes, what are disallowed modes, etc. etc. So stop avoiding answering question. You asked for it by yourself couple posts ago.. Did not I ask "what are annihilation branches (modes) of proton-antiproton?" already.. ? And got nothing in reply... So let's make it a bit easier: proton-antiproton prior annihilation are at rest.. If I would ask e.g. Mordred I wouldn't get much either (unless he would be busy searching the net for on-line answers), even though he is expert here. Because it's actually very very tough question. And not many quantum scientists remember details (unlike e.g. annihilation of electron-positron as it's relatively easy question)..
