  1. People are so busy tearing apart atoms to quarks, they won't notice what you want to say..
  2. Eldad Eshel, try taking multimeter, turn the lowest voltage available on it, like mV, then touch left hand one electrode, touch right hand second electrode, and start thinking about value a bit higher than you see on screen of multi-meter.. If you see 19 mV think about 20 mV, if you see 33 mV think about 34 mV.. etc. What is start value? To what voltage you can get it in say a hour.. ?
  3. Mass of 1 mole of Hydrogen H2 gas is ~2.016 g/mol. (this is averaged Hydrogen and Deuterium) (you can get to this value using f.e. electrolysis of water) 1 mole is 6.022141*10^23 molecules. ~2.016 g = ~0.002016 kg 0.002016 kg / 6.022141*10^23 = 3.34764662600892E-027 kg Now convert kg to Joules: 3.34764662600892E-027 kg * 299792458^2 = 3.00871474170635E-010 J Now convert Joules to electron Volts: 3.00871474170635E-010 J / 1.602176565*10^-19 = 1877892117.15648 eV But H2 has two protons (and two electrons), so divide by 2: 1877892117.15648 eV / 2 = 938946058 eV And subtract mass-energy of electron: 938946058 eV - 510999 eV = 938435059 eV Nearly, nearly (1.7/10000 missed) our 938272046 eV mass-energy of proton. Without even touching mass spectrometry.. My calculation is 1.7 / 10,000 different from the real value...
  4. Looking at ingredients, I would try checking: - Sodium Nitrate, Rubidium Nitrate, Cesium Nitrate (instead of Potassium Nitrate). - Ammonium Fluoride, Ammonium Bromide, Ammonium Iodide (instead of Ammonium Chloride). - Methanol, Butanol, Propanol (there is few isomers, Isopropanol can be bought in electronic shop), instead of Ethanol. Eventually mix them together with various percentages, to see what happens. Checking the all combinations would take weeks or months..

There is such experiment: scientists dropped one by one objects (or shoot and measured velocity of bullet with hi-speed camera) with mass m, to water below it, h distance, and measured increase of temperature of water (including normal decline of temperature). If you drop something from height h, potential energy is: E=m*g*h And water has specific heat ~4.1855 J/K*g (old definition of calorie). It means if you add 4.1855 Joule of energy, one gram of water will have temperature increased by 1 K (1 C). When there is no lost of energy by water: [math]dT=\frac{m_{object}*g*h}{4.1855*m_{water}}[/math] is increase of temperature of water. You cannot do this calculation with ordinary momentum of object p=mv, as target is not solid, but liquid, that gets splashed after hitting. It's "impossible" to read the all water drops momentum. Thermometer is appropriate tool for measuring change in substance. Similarly, definition of watt and energy has been done in electricity: P=I*U (power in Watts=J/s) but I*t=Q (charge in Coulombs) so P*t=I*t*U so E=Q*U Q is quantized every e=1.602176565*10^-19 C Q/e is quantity of electrons. If you put resistor with resistance R to water (which is typically called "heating element"), and there will be flowing through it current I, I=U/R, P=U^2/R=I^2*R, so there will be Q=I*1s charges per second. You will increase temperature of water, to some higher temperature. Pass current (read on ammeter), with voltage U (read on voltmeter), for time t (stopwatch), read temperature of water prior experiment and after experiment (thermometer). The higher voltage, the higher current, the more energy released by resistor, and the higher temperature increase. Above equations are just result of experiments. Experiments were earlier, equations further, to describe experiments. And being able to predict outcome the next time. If you know how much energy is flowing through heating element, you can predict time in which water will have right temperature, even without thermometer. Calculus is used all the time while calculating area and volume..

kilograms * meters / second is unit of momentum.. Velocity is change of position of object, divided by time needed to do so: [math]v=\frac{x1-x0}{t1-t0}[/math] with units [math]\frac{m}{s}[/math] Momentum is velocity multiplied by mass of object. [math]p=m*v[/math] You can substitute and receive: [math]p=m*\frac{x1-x0}{t1-t0}[/math] [math]p=\frac{m*x1-m*x0}{t1-t0}[/math] with units [math]kg\frac{m}{s}[/math]
  7. In the real football, goalkeeper of opposite team can have goal.. If I would be team coach, this would the most trained action by goalkeepers..
  8. I had to Yahoo what is Google (in the past)
  9. Watched the whole 1st video 37min now. Hilarious end. Everybody WATCH THIS: https://youtu.be/3wENFciq1-Q?t=34m30s They should not even start experiment without making sure that their devices are working correctly. They used Tungsten as electrode. But Tungsten has plentiful of oxides, and even can form compounds with sodium (they used Sodium Hydroxide >10% by mass). See the list: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sodium_tungsten_bronze NaxWO3 Quote "Wöhler's 1823 synthesis involved reducing sodium tungstate and tungsten trioxide with hydrogen gas at red heat. " https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sodium_tungstate Na2WO4 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tungsten_oxide Are they blind to see this yellow color in water and floating contamination at the bottom flask after 30 minutes of experiment.. ? (also maybe reaction with Iron from container?) Also instead of averaging amperage (it's fluctuating! in the whole 30 mins experiment), they should plug cables from transformer to normal watt meter. Like this one.
  10. Hold in hand the same (with the same mass) dumbbell on Earth, then on the Moon, or Mars. They don't hold at relativistic velocities, and photons. f.e. in Newton's physics kinetic energy is: [math]E.K.=\frac{1}{2}mv^2[/math] but in Special Relativity: [math]E.K.=m_0c^2\gamma-m_0c^2[/math] Classic physics momentum: [math]p=m_0v[/math] Special Relativistic momentum: [math]p=m_0v\gamma[/math] etc.
  11. Somebody revealing everything on YouTube video with details, should not be afraid of quantum physicians come to his place and check everything.. All these guys should get mass spectrometers, used one are on eBay, and check material prior running device, and after running device, to see whether there are differences in element/isotope composition. ps. Actually I showed these calcs in OpenOffice in post #24 http://www.scienceforums.net/topic/83658-low-energy-nuclear-reactions-cold-fusion-thread-split/?p=810423
  12. I put data to my own fusion energy calculator app, and it showed such reaction (Ni-62 and p+) is plausible... I added two the most common fusion reactions known (pp and pD), to show it works as expected. It uses the same database of 3142 isotopes as decay energy calculator. Officer the most complained that Nickel-62 is the most stable isotope known in the universe. But it would be important while discussion about ability to split it, not while fusing with something else. Page later, he also complained that such reaction would be not exothermic: while my app showed positive value of around 6.12 MeV. (negative results are skipped) In 17 point, he made obvious mistake: Cu-63 and Cu-65 are stable isotopes of Copper, so they would not decay to Nickel, as he wrote.
  13. If during chemical reaction heat would be taken from test tube, flask, or from air, they would be cooled down. Use for instance sodium bicarbonate with acetic acid, and you should notice that temperature of flask has decreased.
  14. What do you mean by that? Decay plus is exothermic process. If Decay Energy is negative value Decay Plus is prohibited decay mode. proton-proton fusion release 0.42 MeV energy: [math]p^+ + p^+ \rightarrow D^+ + e^+ + V_e + 0.42 MeV[/math] From 420,000 eV there is part taken by neutrino, and immediately escape core. But even then it's 210,000 eV, energy released from reaction and remaining there. Additionally newly created positron annihilates with electron, giving 1.022 MeV energy. [math]e^+ + e^- \rightarrow \gamma + \gamma + 1.022 MeV[/math] So it releases ~1.232 MeV energy per reaction average. Fusion of heavier elements than Iron is indeed endothermic, as their Decay Energy is negative value. The problem with pp fusion is that the most often it decays back to two protons. "In the Sun, deuterium-producing events are rare because diprotons, the much more common result of nuclear reactions within the star, immediately decay back into two protons." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proton-proton_chain_reaction Slow rate of reaction means star surface will have plentiful of time to release energy. It's preferred because it releases 17.6 MeV (DT), instead of 1.232 MeV. That's 14x more per reaction.
  15. The couple of atoms (molecule), won't freeze the same as they are alone. Take for example Fluorine. It freeze at −219.67 °C, But if it's part of KrF2 Krypton difluoride It's completely different temperature melting point.. You would spend less time making Krypton difluoride by yourself, than searching net for reliable melting point.. Charge is conserved, atoms or molecules can be neutralized by opposite charge ions, joining with them. Charged particle is still there, but so close to each other, their charge is for outside observer, is meaningless.
  16. Oxygen wants to be at 2- state (which means the all magnetic force is canceled out, the all electrons are paired with each other). Because it's electron configuration is 1s2 2s2 2p6 In such state it has charge Q=-2e The other states are: 1s2 2s2 with Q=+4e or 1s2 with Q=+6e (much more unreliable)
  17. There is significant difference between hot surface, and cold surface, depending on temperature there are emitted photons with higher or lower energy at peak (depending on temperature). See blackbody emission spectrum https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black-body_radiation
  18. If you have water molecule in gaseous state, after heating it significantly, you will turn it to gaseous hydrogen and gaseous oxygen, after heating it even more, you will turn them to hydrogen plasma and oxygen plasma state. Similar situation happens when firefighers try to fight with fire in some compounds burning. They release water molecule. Water molecule has enough energy to change to gaseous Hydrogen, and gaseous Oxygen. And because of heat source, explode together. That's pretty dangerous to firefighters. Trying to extinguish Magnesium with water: But ions in vacuum? Or ions dissolved in solvent medium?
  19. Typical ionized atoms, are in plasma state of matter. Freezing, crystallize matter in liquid state of matter. Atoms and electrons in plasma state move very fast (relative each other). After freezing, very slow (relative each other). But we are in chemistry section of forum, not physics (where such question belongs), so no sure what do you meant by "ionized atoms". Salt dissolved in solvent such as water, will be ions, with negative participant and positive participant (positive ion). They can freeze together with solvent. Take for example NaCl, NaCl after dissolving in water, we have Na+ na Cl- ions. These ions are surrounded by water molecules. But water molecule is polar. One side of molecule has different charge than other side. H+ H+ O2- Sodium + ion attracts water molecule differently, than Chlorine- ion.
  20. How do you know that it's exactly missing binkw32.dll and mss32.dll ? There was message from game itself.. ? Or it was from Windows executable launcher which failed resolving statically linked functions.. ? You should attach screen-shot. Do you installed it and worked and suddenly stopped working? or you installed it, and it never worked correctly? If DLL fail to load, it can means that obviously file is missing (or missing in search path, but is somewhere else, not being able to be found there), or that DllMain() initialization routine tried init itself, and failed. The second one is much more complicated to diagnose. You have proper DLL, in proper path, and it still fails to load. You should get FileMon, now renamed, utility to monitor file I/O activity while trying to launch game. https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/filemon.aspx (or find Win10 compatible utility) After using it, you should know whether DLLs were found, and in which paths checked, and if they were found, which other resources they tried to load (but failed). ps. The most of people would start from trying to install game 2nd time.. And try to install it on other machines (something older than Win10).

On Alibaba I see Sodium Bromide for 2 usd per kg..
  22. IMHO too high price... 600 usd for just a piece of glass? Do you have Van de Graaff generator/Cockcroft Walton-generator? Do you have vacuum pump? Van de Graaff generator manually charged costed me 220 usd, You can easily modify it, and attach electric motor to it. There was 420 usd for VdG with electric motor.. I can get a few millions volts with it. ps. Without equipment such as mass spectrometer, or Geiger counter, you won't even know whether fusion even happened...
  23. Quite hilarious comment. Sort of your style. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roman_conquest_of_Britain Emperor Claudius, invaded Great Britain, because old pretender to crown of Britain island (or Scottish, or Celtic? if you like) escaped, taking crown together with him, to Rome. British new lords sent insulting message to emperor Claudius, literally to order him to return crown and regalia. They had to be insane. If they would sent polite and reasonable message, they would get regalia without a problem... For insult Claudius, refused to do so, and attacked British island. After capturing lords were not executed, instead taken to Rome, and lived long life, they asked him "why did you attacked us, peasants, when the all shops in Rome city looks (better than) like our country treasury.. ?" (crying)
  24. If you emit single photon, photon by photon, with any delays between them, result after some time, is diffraction or interference pattern. Energy/frequency/wavelength of photon is used in (diffraction/interference) calcs. [math]E=h*f[/math] [math]f=\frac{E}{h}[/math] [math]f=\frac{c}{\lambda}[/math] [math]E=\frac{h*c}{\lambda}[/math] [math]\lambda=\frac{h*c}{E}[/math] Photons could be red-shifted or blue-shifted because of Relativistic Doppler Effect: [math]f=f_0*(1-v)*\gamma=f_0*\sqrt{\frac{1-v}{1+v}}[/math] [math]f=f_0*(1+v)*\gamma=f_0*\sqrt{\frac{1+v}{1-v}}[/math] If you emit single electron, electron by electron, with any delays between them, result after some time, is diffraction or interference pattern. Kinetic energy/momentum/velocity of electron is used in calcs. [math]E.K.=m_ec^2*\gamma-m_ec^2[/math] [math]p=m_e*v*\gamma[/math] where [math]h=6.62607004*10^{-34}J*s[/math] [math]c=299792458 \frac{m}{s}[/math] [math]\gamma =\frac{1}{\sqrt{1-\frac{v^2}{c^2}}}[/math]
  25. If somebody plays games seriously, also dream about play while sleeping. And it's pretty insane/unhealthy. I remember times when I played 14h per day scrabble-clone. Have been playing also while sleeping. 14h with 3-5 minutes per player (*2) is enough to play 100 times per day and win. There is needed to find healthy compromise. But then "good bye" to be in the top players. Top players have couple seven-letters words in single game. From 2.8+ millions words database.. Some on-line poker players, who plays the whole day, some day go to the real world poker tournament, and crash it. On-line poker player can play 800+ games per day. High pro players are joining multiple "rooms" at the same time on couple monitors and playing them simultaneously while waiting for opponents movement. Normal world players are not used to such quantity and experience.
