"equitable" is the key word.. from person to person different meaning. I think if everyone had a 10% or 15% PIT, I would say it's a equitable tax. The amount of regulations and invigilation level you have in democratic countries is beyond imagination of the "politicians" of totalitarian states that existed centuries ago..
