  1. Pillow #1 != pillow #2.. They differ.. You have to have information about them to decide. I wash my pillows entirely in the washing machine. They are designed for that. They are allowed to be washed in the washing machine. There is a washing procedure listed on their label, etc. etc. So, basically, read the label to find out.. I try to wash the pillows every few months. One every month. One every two months. If you don't think they are "fresh," you should wash them. BTW, pillows are cheap. 10 euros for 60x50 cm one.. The key is to use 1600 RPM during spinning in the washing machine. The more the better. After that, or x2, pillow or quilt, should be almost out of water and almost dry. I washed my pillows and quilt maybe 5 times in 2022, and will do more this year..
  2. Not really. It is connected to giving/sustaining life. Just because if you don't drink, you die. Nonsense. In Christianity it is just a symbol of reborn after you wash you're clean i.e. flushed all previous "sins" (even if you did not have any like newborn).. Nonsense. Primitive people have primitive superstitions. Nonsense. The creator of the Universe likes quantum physics, if you did not notice yet.. Nonsense. It can be used to create fusion reactor, or nuclear weapon.. For primitive people, indeed, something "magical".. Nonsense.. ps. BTW, you "forgot" to mention Ganges... "The Ganges is the most sacred river to Hindus. It is worshipped as the goddess Ganga in Hinduism. The Ganges is threatened by severe pollution." https://www.google.com/search?q=ganges+holy+river
  3. This is a clever question in physics. Do you know the equation of the distance traveled by an object falling at a given acceleration? Reverse it to have time as result and distance and acceleration as parameters. The distance is known. The acceleration is known. Only the time is unknown. Have two such equations, but with different accelerations of 10 m/s^2 and 9.8 m/s^2, and divide them together and multiply by 100% to get the percentage difference, and subtract to have the absolute time difference in seconds.
  4. Remembering how Muslims around the world reacted to the collapse of the World Trade Center, this will be a very quick test.. Astonishingly, even those who are regularly paid by the U.S. and their countries are completely dependent on foreign aid.
  5. It is very variable from person to person. One can have multi-million loan and/or company on the edge of bankrupcy..
  6. ..my 10 year old would be billionaire, if would be so stupid to bother about the money like typical human being..
  7. At least you had the honor of talking to the creator of the Universe..
  8. To implement such functionality sound waves can be used. Buy an Arduino and an ultrasonic distance sensor. Here's a tutorial on how to make it work: https://create.arduino.cc/projecthub/abdularbi17/ultrasonic-sensor-hc-sr04-with-arduino-tutorial-327ff6 It is used by automatic robots, for example, that clean the floor or to light up rooms when someone enters them.
  9. You reboot the system when Microsoft wants you to, i.e. after downloading a major update such as drivers or the system.
  10. "Better late than never".. But it is half-done achievement. Video of the explosion (download/rerecord by a desktop recording app such as VirtualDub) https://t.me/bazabazon/13718
  11. It is possible to cool the Earth by sending a "very large" number of satellites-mirrors into cosmic space, where they will reflect sunlight and prevent it from reaching the Earth at all..Satellites can be remotely controlled to control the amount of energy reaching our planet. Alternatively, cheaper and easier, without an important remote control, spread gas between the Earth and the Sun. Alternatively, white balloons that will reflect sunlight. But that would be a devastation/pollution of the sky. But it is OT, as these ideas would decrease global warming rather than directly fight with algae.
  12. People who own laptops often simply push the flip cover down, which hibernates the system, instead of shutting it down. This causes problems in some situations. I know that Windows Media Center (the TV Tuner application) in Windows 7 is buggy and consumes the entire disk until the system is properly shut down and restarted (which obviously kills services). I found a workaround - shut down only the service in the Administration Panel. The files are locked permanently by the service - no cleaning, deleting, etc. can remove them while the service is running. In Win10 WMC was removed, but some other service or app can have similar issues.
  13. I advise you to calculate the volume of water, calculate the energy needed to lower the temperature, calculate possible energy harvested per device (not just peak maximum), and calculate the number of devices that will be needed.
  14. You should do it in safe mode.. https://www.google.com/search?q=restore+in+safe+mode Especially if safe mode is problem free..
  15. Simply buy 120 GB SSD drive in any neighbor computer shop for $15 and install fresh OS.. If it is not hardware issue it will help straight away.. Then you will be able to copy precious files from old drive. e.g. 13.59 usd on eBay https://www.ebay.com/b/120GB-Solid-State-Drives/175669/bn_56798086 Everybody should have emergency drive in emergency situations to be able to install fresh OS on it, and boot. And bootable pendrive with Live Linux e.g. Kali Live: https://www.kali.org/get-kali/ Any pendrive 4 GB+ will be good. Only 4GB on it will be used for data. But first, boot in safe mode, and check if it works good or not! https://www.google.com/search?q=how+to+safe+mode+windows+10
  16. You have to experiment by yourself with material at hand. Like I said earlier, I would drill very small hole e.g. 1mm, then 1.5mm, then 2mm etc. until reaching final size. There are mini drills for precise operations: https://www.google.com/search?q=mini+drill+machine I bought mine in an electronics store. They are used by electronic engineers.
  17. Try running OS in safe mode. https://www.google.com/search?q=safe+mode+windows+10 Does it help? Try restore system from restore point: https://www.google.com/search?q=system+restore+windows+10 ..it might be buggy gfx driver.. try downgrading..
  18. Pretty ancient CPU. https://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=AMD+A6-6310+APU&id=2290 I'd suggest buy new SSD 120 GB (it is 15 USD or so) and plug it instead of current drive, and install OS once again on it. If it is 25% and it has four cores, then one core in entirely stuck. In Task Manager identify which process is using CPU the most (sort by CPU usage - click on listview column).
  19. Complex stuff I am 3D printing but it is TPU. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thermoplastic_polyurethane There are others e.g. FLEX.
  20. ctrl-alt-del and you can observe CPU usage, memory usage, network usage. What do you get for each one? Start > Run.. and enter "Performance Monitor" and you have more detailed app for monitoring and/or recording logs about it. You did not give any details about your machine. OS version, CPU model (exact!), physical memory, drive is HDD, SSD or NVMe?
  21. This was also my thought, but silicone rubber is resistant to -55 C, which could be a problem in a typical home. "The embrittlement point of typical organic rubbers is between -20° and -30°C, compared to -60° to -70°C for silicone rubbers."
  22. In every material I drill in, I start with a smaller radius/size and then increase the bit size when I'm done. Bit by bit. You don't want to mill the whole size at once. That could damage the whole thing.
  23. There are lab frame of reference and center-of-mass frame of reference. Interaction between particles at relativistic velocity must be calculated in CoM FoR, and converted to lab frame to know how much energy particle should have to give expected results e.g. creation of charged pion particle after collisions of two protons, in CoM, protons must have >= 139.6 MeV kinetic energy, but because of conservation of momentum they need more. From two particles with kinetic energy (in CoM), there are created three particles with kinetic energy after collision. In lab frame e.g. CERN/LHC, one particle is at rest ("target" which is hit), and the other one, beam of them actually, is accelerated. After collision there is shower of new particles. Calculate in CoM FoR of these particles to learn the outcome. At low enough kinetic energy we skip relativistic part, and use lab FoR, instead of proper CoM FoR (as they would not differ much). "the same", "an identical".. such humanistic PoV.. When you measure the sound emitted by a person/car approaching you, and moving away, you get different results, that is not identical.. even in classical physics..
  24. @studiot@OldChemE BTW, do you know that there is fast trick to do sqrt in single precision IEEE 754 https://www.google.com/search?q=fast+sqrt+single+precision+ieee+754 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fast_inverse_square_root CPUs/GPUs/MICs designers should make it instruction in hardware to have ultra-fast sqrts..
  25. Solar-panel-like material should be built into roads and houses. When the "vehicle" flies above the road, they should transfer energy to the "vehicle" to keep it flying (i.e., without friction), and to accelerate it. The remaining energy should be used to light roads, houses, agriculture and industry. Solar power towers are also an interesting option in uninhabitable areas: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solar_power_tower I like it. The farmer is happy, the plants that don't need full sun are happy, land is wisely used, the farm vehicles are self-sufficient.
