Very interesting. Trump thinks he is very smart because of his bubble of self-reflection, reinforced by a lifetime of constant agreement from his underlings. He ran for office for attention, more than anything else. Nothing he likes more than to Tweet and then listen to the reaction, all day everyday, and to see and hear himself in the news almost constantly. This is heaven for him. Obama, in contrast, did not think himself so smart that he would not consult with experts, the way Trump refuses to consult experts. Trump keeps firing his staff until he has a team based on loyalty, above all else. Nobody left around to challenge him.

Then we can agree that Trump, by his own admission to Wendy Williams, is technically, a pervert, and Hitler was also known to be a pervert? In the article, according to Davis, Trump lied to him 4 times in quick succession about the "Hitler Book."

"According to a 1990 Vanity Fair interview, Ivana Trump once told her lawyer Michael Kennedy that her husband, real-estate mogul Donald Trump, now a leading Republican presidential candidate, kept a book of Hitler's speeches near his bed. "Last April, perhaps in a surge of Czech nationalism, Ivana Trump told her lawyer Michael Kennedy that from time to time her husband reads a book of Hitler's collected speeches, My New Order, which he keeps in a cabinet by his bed ... Hitler's speeches, from his earliest days up through the Phony War of 1939, reveal his extraordinary ability as a master propagandist," Marie Brenner wrote. ... Brenner added that Davis did acknowledge that he gave Trump a book about Hitler. "But it was 'My New Order,' Hitler's speeches, not 'Mein Kampf,'" Davis reportedly said. "I thought he would find it interesting. I am his friend, but I'm not Jewish." After Trump and Brenner changed topics, Trump returned to the subject and reportedly said, "If, I had these speeches, and I am not saying that I do, I would never read them." In the Vanity Fair article, Ivana Trump told a friend that her husband's cousin, John Walter "clicks his heels and says, 'Heil Hitler," when visiting Trump's office." https://www.businessinsider.com/donald-trumps-ex-wife-once-said-he-kept-a-book-of-hitlers-speeches-by-his-bed-2015-8 This is new to me. Did anyone else know about Trump's "Hitler Book"? Trump recently called himself a "nationalist." This is on the order of Trump's outrageous answer to Wendy Williams question "What do you have in common with Ivanka?" His answer "Well...I was going to say sex but I can't blah, blah, blah..." After Trump says "I was going to say sex, but I can't because" he mutters and you can't tell what he said after that. I think is was "I can't relate that to her." So SEX was a big thing on his mind when it came to his daughter. Interesting that Ivanka's response to his outrageous comment was to GIGGLE, like "Oh Daddy is joking again, hahaha." A normal response from her would be to ignore what he said and let the moment pass, and maybe even change the subject, as though what daddy just said was nonsense, NOT TRUE. Her giggle, IMHO, amounts to confirmation of his comment. https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=trump+on+wendy+williams+show+with+ivanka&&view=detail&mid=5C569CDBE9DDAB88BBC65C569CDBE9DDAB88BBC6&rvsmid=313CA659387BBCA6CFB3313CA659387BBCA6CFB3&FORM=VDQVAP

There are "bombs" and there are deadly devices that kill and cripple people. This discussion was intended to be about dangerous, life-threatening devices. Why would anyone care about harmless devices that go "pop"?
-
If you know how to repurpose fireworks, good for you. Most people, such as myself, don't know how.
-
We can never control everyone. We can make it harder for MOST people to make bombs. And that is the best we can do. Cesar Sayoc probably found it EASY to make a bomb on the internet. We don't know why none of the bombs exploded yet. He is no rocket scientist.
-
Most people don't "rediscover" things. Most people don't realize they can repurpose ammunition. Most people just look it up on the internet. It's much easier. Yes but only a genius such as you would know that. I never heard of it. Did anyone else here know that? What are you talking about? If I posted here instructions for building a bomb, do you think nobody would complain? I would complain. Then a monitor can remove it. That is simple. All you need to do is discover bad stuff and report it. There can also be bots that do that all across the internet. Why not?
-
No, I suggest that such insidious information does not need to be WIDE spread. There is no way to stop all knowledge of insidious subjects, but you can put limits on it. It seems like a simple project to remove such info from the internet, for starters. By "professional people" I mean law enforcement experts. I am surprised at you. I always admired your arguments, but this argument is weak. "Do you plan to lock them away to stop their knowledge getting out?" Are you serious? No, and that is a dumb hyperbole, worthy of Trump.
-
I think it IS a limiting factor. Internet knowledge accelerates everything. How many adults or teens still go to public libraries? Why would such insidious knowledge NEED to be available to ANYONE interested in a library or book store? That kind of info should be protected, for professionals who need to know only !
-
You suggest that people who work for NASA need to know how to build a bomb by looking it up on the internet? NASA engineers are people who play with explosives as adults? Let me ask a more specific question. Why does the information for "how to build a bomb" NEED to be freely available on the internet to ANYONE interested? Does that knowledge NEED to be freely available on the internet to ANYONE interested? Here is a link to two other photos of the "Fake News Fake Bombs" sign. Scroll down to the 2nd and 3rd photos of the sign. It looks NOT fake. https://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/politics/os-ne-fake-news-bombs-cliinton-obama-sign-20181025-story.html Yes but you DON'T NEED to learn how to make a bomb from the internet. That should be protected info, for professionals who NEED TO KNOW ONLY.

Stars that can become trillions of years?
Airbrush replied to Hello2's topic in Astronomy and Cosmology
"Stellar models indicate that red dwarfs less than 0.35 M☉ (a third of a solar mass) are fully convective.[3] Hence the helium produced by the thermonuclear fusion of hydrogen is constantly remixed throughout the star, avoiding helium buildup at the core, thereby prolonging the period of fusion. Red dwarfs therefore develop very slowly, maintaining a constant luminosity and spectral type for trillions of years, until their fuel is depleted. Because of the comparatively short age of the universe, no red dwarfs exist at advanced stages of evolution...." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_dwarf#Description_and_characteristics -
As a kid I loved fire crackers, even on rare occasions cherry bombs and M80s that my brother and I bought in Tia Juana as kids. However, after grammar school I lost all interest in fire crackers. What kind of adult wants to know how to build a bomb that can kill or seriously hurt people? I never searched the internet for instructions on how to build a bomb, but why does that critical info NEED to be available to anyone? Such instructions should be constantly tracked down and removed from the internet, even if it keeps popping back up. There could be search and destroy bots that track them down.
-
All I am hoping for is Dems take a majority in the House. Then that opens all investigations into Trump and his grifter cronies. Without that I am afraid Trump will go on a firing binge and get rid of Sessions and Rosenstein, and shut down Mueller.

Very good advice. Basically, if you are truly, very hungry, even healthy foods taste great. Raw vegetables taste great! Don't be afraid to fast a little now and then and always drink lots of water. People generally have too much fun eating. Have fun doing OTHER things, eat for fuel. Think of food as fuel for your car. You want high mileage, not a gas guzzler. We are HOW we eat and how we eat includes lots of variables, WHAT we eat, HOW MUCH we eat, WHEN we eat, WHAT COMBINATIONS of food we eat, how OFTEN we eat, how much WATER we drink, HEREDITY, and on and on. If you can get HOW you eat correct, then that is good for you! If the human race could be a lot healthier by eating correctly we would save Trillions of dollars of medical expenses. Then we can spend that money on better things.

Very interesting idea of living in blimps flying around in the atmosphere of Venus! This is the first I ever heard of it. You better not fall out of that blimp or get roasted on the way down!

Can we know that another big bang cannot happen at any moment, anywhere? If before the big bang was an infinite vacuum, when the big bang started could this "perfect vacuum" suck the big bang to infinity instantaneously?
-
Right, Trump became a millionaire by age 8 because of his salary from his Dad that began at age 3.

The benefit of the doubt? Just compare the performance of Dr. Ford compared to Kavanaugh. Dr. Ford ran circles around the pompous, privileged, spoiled boy, who actually looked drunk , belligerent, and hyper-partisan during his hearing. He did not look judicial, ranting and raving, evading questions, afraid to address the question of further FBI investigation, like a guilty person. Even asking his interrogator if she had a drinking problem when she asked HIM the question.
-
Dr. Ford has a solid professional reputation in the field of psychology and demonstrated extraordinary veracity during her questioning. Even Trump was impressed. But then the GOP goes down the rabbit hole and shifts to believing Kavanaugh which implies Dr. Ford is confused about who exactly assaulted her, which seems absurd on the face of it. "Disreputable victims" may or may not be telling the truth. We don't know much about Kavanaugh's other accusers, YET.

Now that we have the concepts of big bang and multiverse, I wonder what Einstein would say about whether or not our big bang is infinite? Could there be more than one big bang in an infinite multiverse? Assuming that our big bang is not all there is. It seems hard to believe that an event such as the big bang could extend to infinity. It would have to be infinite already at the moment of the big bang because something finite in size cannot ever grow to an infinite size, no matter how fast the rate of expansion. I've never heard any mention of a rate of expansion that is infinite in speed.

Very interesting. I had always assumed the word "supercluster" meant gravitationally bound. So this means not all superclusters are bound together forever. On the edges of any supercluster it seems to me that galaxies could orbit each other and interact in such a way that an entire galaxy could be thrown out of the supercluster, just as planets in a solar system can interact in such a way that a planet can be cast out of the solar system. Right?
-
How can a supercluster NOT be gravitationally bound? Is the Virgo Supercluster gravitationally bound forever?

Statistically false accusations of sexual assault from reputable victims are rare. "...When a woman says she’s been brutally raped by seven men at a public party on a bed of broken glass, as the UVA accuser did, and when that woman has a history of strange lies, as the UVA accuser also did, there’s nothing wrong with being skeptical. But if a woman without any history of dramatic falsehoods says she went home with a man and, after they’d kissed a while consensually, he held her down and forced her into sex—in the absence of compelling evidence to the contrary, you can just assume it’s true. This is not because of any political dictum like “Believe women.” It’s because this story looks exactly like tens of thousands of date rapes that happen every year, and nothing at all like a false rape accusation." https://qz.com/980766/the-truth-about-false-rape-accusations/ Also, when a man is merely suspected of a serious crime he may be rightfully arrested, handcuffed, read his Miranda Rights, taken away in the back seat of a police car, and confined until facts emerge that exonerate him, either during questioning or during a trial, that is perfectly consistent with the dictum "innocent until proven guilty." Brett Kavanaugh is simply suspected of a serious crime, but he is not on trial, he is merely being considered for an extraordinary, life-long job, supreme court justice.

To be precise our "Local Group" is the name for our local cluster of 54 galaxies. "Supercluster" is a word for ALL galaxies and galaxy clusters that are forever bound together by gravity. "The Local Group is the galaxy group that includes the Milky Way. The Local Group comprises more than 54 galaxies, most of them dwarf galaxies. Between 1 billion and 1 trillion years from now, they will collide and form a single galaxy. Its gravitational center is located somewhere between the Milky Way and the Andromeda Galaxy. The Local Group has a diameter of 10 Mly (3.1 Mpc) (about 1023 meters) and has a binary (dumbbell)[1] distribution. The group itself is a part of the larger Virgo Supercluster, which may be a part of the Laniakea Supercluster." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Local_Group

Would it be possible for a civilization to avoid the heat death of the universe if they had a fusion reactor? All they need to do it gather hydrogen and throw it into the fusion reaction and generate energy beyond the death of the last red dwarf.
