PROVE that "everyone in politics lies constantly." The big "lie" that Obama told was that if you liked your doctor, with Obamacare you can KEEP your doctor. Fox News kept repeating that SINGLE "lie" [or falsehood] for years, because that was the ONLY "lie" they could think of. With Trump, the con artist, the hyperbole-salesman, there is no comparison, a THOUSAND times as many lies or falsehoods as Obama or any recent president. That is a false equivalence. "Hyperbole is the use of exaggeration as a rhetorical device or figure of speech.... In poetry and oratory, it emphasizes, evokes strong feelings, and creates strong impressions. As a figure of speech, it is usually not meant to be taken literally." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyperbole

North Korea has an unknown number of nuclear bombs. They are desperate for money. It is likely that North Korea would sell a nuke, that is ready to explode, to a terrorist organization for enough money. The terrorists deliver the bomb to the middle of New York City in the back of a truck. When it explodes it vaporizes all evidence of its' origin. How would we ever know that North Korea provided the bomb? Of course the terrorists could snitch on Kim, but why would they?

The goal is to come away from the meeting with ANY kind of a "win" to squash talk of impeachment. For Kim the goal is probably to keep Trump in power because Kim appreciates knowing how Trump thinks from revealing tweets. Kim likes how Trump is so public about his thoughts and feelings, and Kim would be starting at square one if Pence became president. Kim knows a LOT about Trump (who is literally an open book, Art of the Deal) and therefore thinks he can manipulate him. Kim called Trump a "dotard" ("an old person, especially one who has become weak or senile, "an old person with impaired intellect"). Nobody knows much about the thoughts and feelings of Kim.

This is the closest discussion of North Korea. Now N. Korea released 3 hostages. Interesting that all 3 of the hostages have "Kim" in their name. Welcome back guys! How did they get captured in the first place? I heard Trump welcoming them off their plane. It required an interpreter. So these Americans did not even speak English? To me it looks like Kim wants Trump to stay in office because Kim thinks Trump is a Bozo-the-Clown "dotard". Kim will try to give Trump ENOUGH of a "WIN" to give the GOP a chance in the midterm elections and therefore avoid Trump's impeachment after the midterms. Or at least that could be Kim's strategy, to make Trump look good.

1. Good question. Anyone know how big the waves can be on Titan? 2. Certainly boats can float on liquid methane, but a propeller wouldn't get much traction. You need another propulsion method. How about wind sails? 3. With high atmospheric density and low gravity, I would think gliding would be easier on Titan than on Earth. 4. To burn methane you need oxygen. Maybe better to split water ice into oxygen and hydrogen and use them as fuels. 5. That sounds right 6. Yes So far only tiny waves detected: http://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-26622586 "We think we've found the first waves outside the Earth," he told the meeting. What we're seeing seems to be consistent with waves at just a few locations in Punga Mare [with a slope] of six degrees." But assuming these were indeed waves, Dr Barnes calculates that a wind speed of around 0.75 m/s is required to produce ripples with the requisite slope of six degrees. That points to the waves being just 2cm high. "Don't make your surfing vacation reservations for Titan just yet," Dr Barnes quipped...."

A terrorist attack. It seems like suicide for any nuclear power (especially N.Korea) to launch ICBMs at any country. The whole world will know WHO started the fight. Then all arsenals of the world will be turned against the attacker 100 times as much. The most likely event in my opinion would be a terrorist organization gets one or more nuclear bombs. They issue a threat against any nation then back up the threat by destroying a large city. Then they issue a second threat saying "How did you like that? Now here is where you send the money,"(... or whatever their demand...) "...or we destroy another city." It will be hard to track down the offender.

From the last "Real Time" with Bill Maher.

Don't you think in this modern age if some country decides to attack another nation with nuclear weapons they would NOT use ICBMs? With so many satellites in space watching every country, would it not be easy to determine the source of a nuclear missile launch? The source would be promptly punished. For that reason, to maintain anonymity, I would suspect that IF it ever happens, the nuclear weapon would be discreetly delivered to it's destination by a boat, small plane, truck, or even inside a car. Then nobody can tell where it came from.

Recently the favorability of Trump has risen. Trump's success can partly be attributed to a large number of Americans that can be enamored, and therefore conned willingly, by a good, SLICK, sales pitch. Many Americans don't see his mannerisms as obnoxious. They are attracted to that brash, combative style, a "street fighter" who fights back. SALES is a major part of the American economy. There are many people in sales. Their commissions depend on how good they are at pushing their product on someone. A good salesman can sell ice cubes to the Eskimos. Many salespersons must admire an expert salesman. People really like to hear an upbeat, brash, carnival barker who is clever enough to keep repeating his pitch, just in case someone wasn't listening carefully. Therefore he successfully leads people into his delusions like some kind of Jim Jones.

explanation of mechanism of moon capturing
Airbrush replied to Jon Steensen's topic in Astronomy and Cosmology
"The Moon formed 4.51 billion years ago,[f] some 60 million years after the origin of the Solar System. Several forming mechanisms have been proposed,[26] including the fission of the Moon from Earth's crust through centrifugal force[27] (which would require too great an initial spin of Earth),[28] the gravitational capture of a pre-formed Moon[29] (which would require an unfeasibly extended atmosphere of Earth to dissipate the energy of the passing Moon),[28] and the co-formation of Earth and the Moon together in the primordial accretion disk (which does not explain the depletion of metals in the Moon).[28] These hypotheses also cannot account for the high angular momentum of the Earth–Moon system.[30] Play media The evolution of the Moon and a tour of the Moon The prevailing hypothesis is that the Earth–Moon system formed after an impact of a Mars-sized body (named Theia) with the proto-Earth (giant impact). The impact blasted material into Earth's orbit and then the material accreted and formed the Moon." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moon#Formation -
explanation of mechanism of moon capturing
Airbrush replied to Jon Steensen's topic in Astronomy and Cosmology
How about the idea that the Moon formed in an orbit so near Earth that at some point the two were moving at a slow speed relative to each other. Then the Moon, which is inside of Earth's orbit, passed by the Earth too close and the Earth acted to slow down the Moon, whipping it around the Earth, and capture it in orbit? How could that not have happened? I do believe astronomers think the best Moon creation theory is the giant impact of Thea but I'm not sure why. -
But if you have a winged suit on Titan you may be able to run leap and glide for some distance through the dense Titan atmosphere? Or leap off a mountain and glide a long distance.

explanation of mechanism of moon capturing
Airbrush replied to Jon Steensen's topic in Astronomy and Cosmology
As I recall, our moon could not have been captured because the mass of our moon is too great for that. Neptune, however, has a moon Triton that is in a retrograde orbit which means it was probably captured because the mass of Triton is not too great for that (compared to Neptune's mass). -
Yes, it says it was a moon to mars-sized object.

If you are climbing down a ladder over 100 feet, wearing only your pajamas, you would hope the tunnel walls are thick enough to block micro-meteors and cosmic rays. I'd rather sleep in zero g in the thickest, most shielded module of the space station.

I wanted to examine some of the most recent lies Comey has told. Does anyone know of any good Comey lies? A good source should be "lyincomey.com". Has anyone ever checked out all the lies they caught Comey telling? Here is what I found at LyinComey.com: I think that first impressions are very important, so what are the first lies that they list? NONE, they quote dems criticizing Comey: Nancy Pelosi "Comey not in the right job"; Maxine Waters "Comey has no credibility"; Hillary Clinton "Comey overstepped his bounds"; Chuck Schumer "I have no confidence in Comey"; Bernie Sanders "outrageous". No lies listed yet, so keep reading. LIE#1 When Comey was asked if he had ever been an anonymous source or known someone to be an anonymous source? He LIED and answered "Never, No". Trump tweeted that Comey is shown clearly lying on @foxandfriends (3-18-18). So when I click on @foxandfriends to see this TOP of the list of lies it takes me to the Twitter page of Fox & Friends, and there is nothing about any lies there. Then it says that Comey later testified that he asked a friend to share the content of his memo with a reporter. This is the first on their list of famous Comey lies?! LIE#2 Comey portrays himself as an innocent victim fired by Trump. The TRUTH is the dems wanted him fired. Is this a lie? LIE#3 Comey portrays himself as nonpartisan rather than politically motivated. The TRUTH is that the dems slammed Comey as a partisan political leaker. Is this a lie? LIE#4 Comey may use book tour to push the phony narrative that Trump obstructed the Russia investigation. The TRUTH is Comey confirmed under oath that neither Trump nor his staff asked him to stop the Russia investigation. Is this a lie? These are the best 4 LIES that Trump's Cosa Nostra could think of?!!! At the bottom it says "Click here for the facts". Then I get "404 ERROR - Don't worry, we're making it great again. Start here." When I click on "Start here" it just takes me to the GOP web site. https://lyincomey.com/

"...A 2011 NASA proposal for a demonstration project preparatory to the final design of the larger torus centrifuge space habitat for the Multi-Mission Space Exploration Vehicle. The structure would have an outside diameter of 30 feet (9.1 m) with a ring interior cross-section diameter of 30 inches (760 mm). It would provide 0.08 to 0.51g partial gravity. This test and evaluation centrifuge would have the capability to become a Sleep Module for ISS crew." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Artificial_gravity#Proposals I guess 0.51g is better than zero g.

Yes we are only discussing the BB at this point.

So what you are saying is that at 10-43 seconds AFTER the singularity condition the physics start to make sense, and the "singularity condition" does not make sense?
-
It looks like Trump is flipping out over his lawyer getting raided by the FBI. Michael Cohen kept recordings of conversations!!! Then on top of that parts of Comey's new book are released. He compares Trump to a Mafia "Don" and his team as gangsters adhering to a family code of silence and spin. So here is Trump's latest Tweet on 4-13-18: James Comey is a proven LEAKER & LIAR. Virtually everyone in Washington thought he should be fired for the terrible job he did-until he was, in fact, fired. He leaked CLASSIFIED information, for which he should be prosecuted. He lied to Congress under OATH. He is a weak and..... ....untruthful slime ball who was, as time has proven, a terrible Director of the FBI. His handling of the Crooked Hillary Clinton case, and the events surrounding it, will go down as one of the worst “botch jobs” of history. It was my great honor to fire James Comey! https://www.nytimes.com/2018/04/13/us/politics/trump-calls-comey-untruthful-slimeball-as-book-details-released.html Does anyone know of an example of Comey being untruthful or lying?
-
I thought physics breaks down before the singularity condition. Isn't the singularity undefined and just theoretical? The "singularity conditions" would be high density and high temperature, that's all. It says nothing about the size or shape of the big bang at the beginning.
-
That is a long distance 40m = 131 feet! Imagine that length pressurized and shielded from cosmic rays? What would that cost? Then how about counter-rotating another balanced pair of sleeping modules? You don't want them to smash into each other rotating in opposite directions. This project seems to be way beyond affordable or practicable. That would also be a scary place to sleep isolated so far from the hub.
-
How long of a radius does the pressurized tunnel need to be to easily transition from zero g to one g?
-
Instead of the singularity, the big bang expanded out of a super-dense region of undeterminable size. What was there before the big bang? There was either a pre-existing universe or not.
-
Ok then the centrifuge doesn't need to be a complete wheel, it could be most simply only two modules that are rotating around a hub suspended by cables inside 2 pressurized tunnels, one to each module. Then it could be a much larger radius, and you can add modules symmetrically.
