  1. The fact that Trump stated the Mussolini quote is a "very good quote" and he "doesn't care who said it" means he prefers one day of violence over 100 years of peace and Mussolini was wise. That is a surreal stance. This should be brought up as often as any other gaffs he made. I'm retired and watch CNN, MSNBC, and Fox News many hours per day, and I never once heard about the Mussolini quote.
  2. Ok then let's hear his good ideas in DETAIL. Then Hillary can put the best plans into action, even if the good plan is Trumpf's. He may be an outside-the-box kind of guy, then let's hear his great ideas for defeating ISIS and better economic growth, and better wages. His temperament is deplorable so he cannot BE president, but he can always ADVISE the president.
  3. I cannot believe that the anti-Trumpf people have not made a big deal about his fondness for a quote by Mussolini "It is better to live one day as a lion than 100 years as sheep". That is the creepiest thing I have yet heard, and Trumpf thinks that is a good quote. A candidate for US president is saying it's ok to have a nuclear war because that is what a lion would do. Who wants 100 years of peace? Not Trumpf. When questioned by NBC he answered: "It's a very good quote...I didn't know who said it, but what difference does it make if it was Mussolini or somebody else, it's a very good quote." It's better to have one day of violent action than 100 years of peace, is my figurative interpretation of this quote. Remember Trumpf is a very "figurative" guy. He did not take the opportunity to denounce Mussolini but elevated him to the level of a wise philosopher. Why is nobody talking about this?!
  4. I originally purchased my shot gun after some guy tried to climb into my bedroom window when I was living in a crappy apartment in a bad neighborhood. The next day a cop came over to take my report. He said I should have a gun and wait until they get inside then "blow him up" and he would give me a medal. We actually installed security bars on that window, so I really didn't need the shot gun any longer. I really bought the shot gun to defend against terminator robots from the future, right after I saw the first Terminator movie in 1984. Why not have a generator just in case of a disaster and the power goes out for a week? You will be comfortable at home watching the riots on tv with a fridge full of goodies and the A/C keeping you cool. But I don't ever see that "helping a lot" rather have it for insurance.
  5. "Lowest form of life" can be killed with impunity and "Lowest form of humanity" should be a valid target for assassination. Again bolstering his previous veiled "sarcastic" threat. Edit, thanks for the Mussolini quote that Trumpf tweeted. "Better to live one day as a lion than 100 years as sheep" sounds like encouraging nuclear war. That happens quick, quick, quick. Wouldn't you rather graze peacefully in the grass for 100 years than die a violent death after only one DAY of life?
  6. Recently Trump said the news media are the "lowest form of life", the "lowest form of humanity" and repeated it with that stern look he often has when he is in hater mode, reminiscent of Hitler railing against the Jews. Why won't someone tell him he has the mannerisms of both Hitler and Mussolini?
  7. Never too old to be a survivor. Would any of us in that situation, without a gun, be certain to survive? I don't carry a gun but I do have a shot gun at home for the apocalypse.
  8. For survival of our species with the challenges of ever-increasing population, ethics at a large scale will finally be examined. Global policies will be negotiated and will be enabled by technology that can handle that high level of transparency. Yes Big Brother will become a reality, not too far off. All it takes is a terrorist attack where a dozen of the worlds largest cities are destroyed by nuclear bombs, or the entire areas rendered uninhabitable for thousands of years. Then you get martial law and hello Big Brother.
  9. There was no telling what the "robbers" had in mind, so it is not unreasonable for the old man to shoot at them. Maybe he prevented a massacre, or maybe only prevented robbery, but that was unknown at the time. Shooting was justified, good going old man! However he appears to have overdone it but he was either a bad shot or trying to miss them, so he felt it was necessary to keep shooting AROUND them just to scare them off.
  10. That is the pro-life argument, that women should NOT be free to terminate a pregnancy because of petty reasons, such as the cost of raising a child or because of the restriction of her freedom, but currently women have the right to choose for ANY reason.
  11. Thanks for the comment, but I made many edits after you posted. Do my edits make any difference in this discussion? Remember this is all voluntary but involves monetary incentives.
  12. You mean that in the future we may not figure out how to clearly improve human genetics? Who decides that being healthy is a good thing? Is it not obvious? Or would the health care industry suffer because too many people don't need health care? What if we discovered a cure for cancer that involved manipulating DNA, would they say no because we need to preserve cancer or any other disease for genetic diversity? Or a couple could be told that if they have a child there is a very high probability of birth defects that would discourage them from WANTING to have children. That is voluntary eugenics. Or if a couple discovered that have very special genetics that if combined would be very beneficial to many people, would it be wrong to let them know that and to encourage them to have many children by monitary incentives? This is not Nazi-styled forced sterilization just knowledge that leads to voluntary action.
  13. True but it would be nice if all presidential candidates are well educated in all the subjects that are relevant to doing the job of president. Such as economics, global politics, history, physical sciences, technology, what else? And by "well educated" I mean they don't just take economics 101, but all the way through advanced economics. We should even know how well they performed in standardized tests in economics, history, and the other important presidential subjects. I apologize about the martial arts comment, I was trying to be funny, but it fell flat. Sorry folks.
  14. Not only that "second amendment people" can stop Hillary AFTER she is elected, but remember Trump has also said that Hillary is the devil, a monster, the co-founder of ISIS (Obama and Clinton "founded" ISIS), guilty of treason, unhinged, crooked, "lock her up", etc. Plainly such an evil person deserves to die. Also the system is rigged, since his poles are declining, so if Hillary wins it was a RIGGED election. Consider he repeated 9 times that Hillary "founded" ISIS. This implies that Hillary is the leader of terrorists and certainly a valid target for assassination. When you put all these remarks together, along with countless others, he makes it obvious he would take pleasure in the death of Clinton, but says it in a careful, veiled way so that he THINKS we won't notice, again. Sounds like sending a coded message to at least one psychopathic 2A killer to act. Delusional Donald is going to take a landslide on the head.
  15. In the future do you think that besides controlling the numbers of people on earth governments of the world would select for certain desirable genetic traits, not in the ruthless manner of the Nazis but in a compassionate way getting rid of detrimental genes? Eliminating genes for all sorts of illnesses may eventually do away with disease and lead to longer life spans. Or develop new genes that prolong life and make people very strong and resistant to radiation and able to repair DNA like tartigrades. That would lead to more people surviving and be another pressure on the human race to reduce and control population.
  16. Don't you want to be proud of your president? Don't you want your president able to expertly defend herself or himself?
  17. Talent scouts go to universities and ask for a list of their outstanding students. The selection committee strives for the widest range of talent of all ethnic groups as well as men and women. Transparency is of the utmost. Maybe even the public gets to vote on which students get selected for presidency boot camp. It would work like "Dancing With The Stars" where the public is encouraged to vote, to avoid a fine, and a committee of experts in economics, political science, physical sciences, and martial arts.
  18. Yes at midway the craft swivels 180 degrees and begins 1 G deceleration.
  19. Not Manchurian candidates because the training of future presidents could be rigorous and TOTALLY transparent for that reason. There would be a governing board of educators who are members of all political parties determining a balanced, neutral, impartial studies of subjects that are important to a president. The candidates would be under surveillance at all times and they are aware of it since the pay is very good and perks are nice too. Basically you are trying to get rid of all the Hitler's, Musolini's, Mao's, Stalin's and Trumps.
  20. On the first missions to Mars will astronauts live and work, or at least sleep, in a centrifuge so they can have 1 G of gravity most of the time? Can we build a centrifuge on Mars, or the Moon, so astronauts can at least sleep in 1 G ?
  21. Ok, tested in every conceivable but relevant way and relevancy is determined by a panel of experts who also may be elected to their position. My belief is the office of president should not be a voluntary position. It should be more like jury duty. The most able candidates should be drafted into running out of a pool of well-qualified persons who originally had no aspirations to politics. But because they are very brilliant and of good temperament they can be ENCOURAGED to study for the presidency. Anyone who originally WANTS to be president is nuts, power-hungry, and should be suspect. Being president is a very serious matter and hopefuls should be vetted thoroughly. They must join a prep school for future presidents which educates and eliminates undesirables (based on objective, generally-agreed on criteria and that criteria can be the result of a vote). The surviving candidates eventually will become enthusiastic about being president because it pays well and other perks, but many undesirables are voted out during the training. Like a boot camp for presidents. In the boot camp they are all thoroughly educated in economics, politics, history, science and all subjects that are important for a president, so you don't end up ONLY with people like Trump or Hillary.
  22. Yes please test candidates in every conceivable way. It is better to know more about them than not enough.
  23. Thanks for the invitation. If, or when, human social order goes to hell and there is no more water coming out of the faucets, that is when Americans will pack their belongings and ALL head north to where the rain is and water flows in nature. "Follow the water."
  24. Then you also watched Fareed's show today since that was one topic on GPS! Great info. Yes I believe the USA should fine it's citizens a little for not voting.... like Australia does. Any other countries agree? Ok, yes I agree that Trump may do very well in the debates. And yet I disagree about "any meaningful number of 'undecided' voters...is a media fallacy." Anything can happen during the next few months and Trump may very well win and only because many people decide not to vote or think their vote does not matter.
  25. That is really no joke. In a catastrophic population decline, and break down of social order, there will be a scarcity of food and an excess of people. The surviving humans will simply be cannibals.
