    Dylann Roof

"...Roof's father gave him a .45-caliber pistol for his birthday, according to uncle Charles Cowles." Later news reports contradict this claim. It now seems that he was given the money to buy a gun by his parents, but Dylann is the one who bought the gun and ammo. Interesting that he is now 21 years old, a 9th grade dropout, which probably means he had been out of school for about 7 years, and currently unemployed. Anyone know what jobs he has held since dropping out of the 9th grade? Has he ever been employed? I had a paper route at age 13. Seems like a full time drug user. Now look at the fine judgment of his father (or whomever) to give him money to buy a Glock pistol that holds 12 rounds, even though he won't go to school or work at a job, and was already in trouble with the police for 2 incidents, 1) asking strange questions in a mall while carrying drugs with him, and 2) later trespassing into the mall after he was ordered by the police to not return to the mall. Maybe his father (or whomever) was unaware of these police encounters? They HAD to be aware of the other bad signs. "...Dylann is a monster because he made himself into a monster." With plenty of neglect from those who hatched him I suspect. We may learn this later after he is easily convicted and later interviewed and studied by psychologists for years and years, hopefully, before being executed. "do your best to sit through all the cry baby testimony about the circumstances that create such a young monster without puking..." After hours of following this story on CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, and other news stations, I have heard almost nothing about the circumstances creating such a young monster. That will take time to learn by interviewing him for hundreds of hours. Why give an unstable, uneducated, unemployed, mentally underdeveloped loner of a child a hand gun? "Here son, take this Glock handgun and have some fun! Go hunting for food or defend your house with it."

    Dylann Roof

"...I'm sure there are trial lawyers right now chomping at the bit to get his case and show that he is just another innocent victim of society. A society of bad parent, guns and liberty." Dylann is not an "innocent victim", and his family is not a victim. We all know who the real victims are. Because of his young age, barely an adult, he repeated the 9th grade but never finished and dropped out of school, some people would like to know a little more about the circumstances that created such a young monster, in hopes of doing something to preventive this in the future.

Interesting about the sexual frustration angle mentioned above. Could that have something to do with the human tendency to yell sexual words and phrases in anger? What does sex have to do with anger? Or what does anger have to do with sex? No, I'm not saying that. 21 is very young for this kind of behavior. The evidence makes him look very guilty at this time, but he is only a suspect that confessed. There is usually a correlation between behavior of a child and behavior of the parents. For example, child abuse is passed from parent to child. Maybe some racist jokes by Dad at the dinner table? Maybe a "doting" mother, like Hitler's mom? We don't know yet but I doubt they were model parents. It will be interesting to know what his relationship was with his parents and the character of his parents, or whomever hatched him. This case may be unprecedented as the youngest person seriously attempting to start a race war. Charles Manson was trying to start a "race war". Good thing Dylann Roof is still alive and we can learn a lot about this kind of pathology for years to come.

Yesterday this 21 year old went into a church, sat for an hour listening to Bible study, then shot and killed 9 people. How long until we will hear discussion in the news about his PARENTS? His parents must be very embarassed, since they created a monster. This psychopathic boy is probably the product of bad parenting, or no parenting. It will be very interesting to know more about his parents. The origin of most problems in the world is bad parenting, or non-parenting. "...Roof's father gave him a .45-caliber pistol for his birthday, according to uncle Charles Cowles." http://www.thedailybeast.com/cheats/2015/06/18/charleston-suspect-is-dylann-roof.html# <mod edit - I have changed the thread title. He is a suspect at present>
  5. It is a killer if it kills anyone. Even a little meteorite can hit someone in the head and kill them. Yes 1 to 2 kilometers in size will cause some extinctions, but maybe humans would survive it, living in worse condition.
  6. "...After the 1979 revolution, a clandestine nuclear weapons research program was disbanded by Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini (1902–1989), who considered such weapons as haram (sinful) and forbidden as unethical and immoral in Muslim jurisprudence.[3] Iran has signed treaties repudiating the possession of weapons of mass destruction including the Biological Weapons Convention,[4] the Chemical Weapons Convention,[5] and the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT)" How likely is it for rulers of a country to call nuclear weapons "sinful", then later say, "Well yeah, we always believed nuclear weapons are sinful, but to protect the lives of Muslims is a HIGHER calling. So, even though we all agree nuclear weapons are sinful, it is a higher order to protect the lives of Muslims. Therefore we are forced to develop nuclear weapons against our will, and it is ok to lie to the USA and it's evil compatriots in order to obtain nuclear weapons." Is that the reality?
  7. Is uranium the heaviest metal a hypernova can create and be long-lasting?
  8. A. NO B I'm using the term "paparazzi cam" broadly. No he was not a paparazzi, but he was substantially doing the work of a paparazzi, filming covertly. C. This is my brainstorming session. Sorry if all the details have not been figured out to your satisfaction before I started this discussion. I make LOTS of mistakes during brainstorming, for good reason.. Now I'm thinking about unemployed veterans. They kill themselves at the rate of 22 per day in the USA. It is not very difficult to hold a camera. I personally prefer to solve more than one problem at a time. Airbrush: "That kind of work is perfect for a homeless person. He likes to be on the street, so he is already street-wise. He gets self-defense training and carries a cell phone and STAYS in communication with the local police patrol. What's the problem with him making a few bucks finding and filming bad guys doing bad things or even police shooting people or bombers putting a suspicious package containing a nuke somewhere?" Notice I wrote "perfect for A homeless person" and you expanded that to ALL homeless people. I never intended that. No, this is not for ALL homeless, only those FEW who are street-wise, that are willing and able to make a few bucks so they are no longer homeless. What's wrong with that?
  9. The authorities should have compensated him. Did this happen to the camera person who captured the Rodney King beating? Something is wrong with our justice system if it is not prepared to fairly compensate people for providing evidence, in this case a market value of $10,000, for the justice system, which tv stations also covet. That is unjust. The law is not equiped to handle the complexities of paparazzi cams everywhere. We need new laws to deal with it.
  10. True, apparently so far he has not earned anything from the video. Now he must get $10,000 for it to be used again. Will that happen? It seems sad that he could not be a good guy by doing the right thing AND ALSO make money for it. This should be a lesson for all paparazzi camera people. First get legal advice before releasing your valuable video. If he held out for a million dollars, no TV station would have paid that much, nobody would have ever seen the video, and the police would have gotten away with it, and nobody would know about it. Obviously he didn't understand that his video was worth money to TV stations, who got to use it for free, as well as evidence in legal action. "Holding up justice while negotiating a price"? Your assumption is that negotiation will take a prohibitive length of time, which is absurd. Such negotiations can also move quickly.
  11. Sorry, I cannot help you with evidence. No "police are not entitled to shoot people". Are you mad or am I THAT bad a writer? Payment for TV-worthy videos obviously comes from TV stations. If Feidin Santana had only seen the movie "Nightcrawler" he might have realized he had great value that could be sold to TV stations. TV stations got a free ride for that one. Everyone will criticize the movie "Nightcrawler" because what a despicable character Jake played. But that was simply a preview of what is to come. Stay tuned folks. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nightcrawler_(film) StringJunky: "Read - properly - what he was responding to when he wrote that." What do you mean? Santana was not aware his video had a monitary value to him, as well as a value to the victims family. He was kind-hearted but ignorant. So what?
  12. Thank you iNow for that great news article. The value of that video is given currently as $10,000, NOT zero. Apparently it was worth zero for Feidin Satana, but only because he was unaware. Just because Feidin Satana didn't ask for anything for the video, does not mean it is worthless. It should be common knowledge that such video is potentially VERY valuable.
  13. The trend is more and more people carrying cell phones that are also cameras. So the paparazzi cams are here to stay and will only grow in number. My questions is: "How much money did that video of cop shot man in back earn the cameraman? Nobody knows? Let me venture a guess, since all the major news channels were showing it over and over for a week or longer. How about over $1,000? How much did the Rodney King beating video earn that cameraman? So carry around your cell phone with a video camera. You never know when it will come in handy. In Russia many cars have dash cams because of problems with auto accident liability. Those cameras captured the meteor impact. Right, leave the homeless alone. I thought it was an easy opportunity to escape homelessness that doesn't require much education or training, especially for the homeless veterans. In the USA 22 veterans kill themselves everyday. Not all of them are homeless, but their military training may help. The idea is to ESCAPE homelessness. ANYONE who is willing and able CAN do the paparazzi cam bit, even you, if you are willing and able.
  14. That means the vast majority of Iranians are probably anti-Shah. Because he was of a wealthy elite, out of touch with the common people, and because public opinion has been so anti-Shah for so long that you can be sure the textbooks in Iran are biased against the Shah and favorable to the Theocracy.
  15. This discussion is only possible courtesy the "paparazzi cam", by the young man who recorded the police shooting the fleeing suspect in the back, on his cell phone cam. I wonder how much money he was paid for that recording? You are making the assumption that this calling is only for homeless people. I'm thinking of carrying a video camera in my car, so I can capture any interesting incident that may be newsworthy and I'm not homeless. Maybe I could make a few bucks by doing that. "Ignorance bordering on offensiveness" because I'm pointing ONE way out of poverty for ONLY those few individuals who have what it takes and are willing to be a public cameraman? You would rather stand in the way of someone finding a calling that will lift them out of their poverty. There already ARE public camerapeople, everyone who carries a cell phone with a camera. Do you want to outlaw that? This is not an all or nothing proposition. All kinds of public cameras are welcome by me, and in this case, police shoots man in back, the only reason we know about it was because of a paparazzi cam.
  16. I totally agree, and also, for lack of a better term, I'm in favor of "paparazzi cams" wherever possible. Any homeless person who can find a job that will afford him an apartment, or even a room in a shelter, is no longer homeless. Some may be willing, but unable to find work. Help them out if they have what it takes and are willing to work. Teach them how to do the job safely. Let them make a decent living as a paparazzi cam. Too bad the second half is much better than the first. I thought his character was crappy only, the story somewhat implausible, but generally informative about the ambulance-chasing paparazzi business. There are people who do that for a living. That makes is worth my while.
  17. Evidence that some homeless people actually like to live on the street? No, I thought that was common knowledge. I've heard many are offered apartments and just figure out how to convert that to money by renting it to another homeless person and they return to "camping" out, because that is fun to them. That's in the MILDER climates only, of course, not NYC in the winter. It will be hard for us to understand if we have never been homeless. I had a lot of fun camping in my van parked next to a college campus, near the beach, for several months, as a youth. He was an extreme only insofar as he was a creepy, conman, willing to do anything for money and power. There are paparazzi who live by their cameras, not only filming celebrities, but also police activity. You can do it yourself if you get the proper equipment and learn police code numbers. If he sells the phone he loses his security deposit, and big deal he loses a job. That can happen to anyone. There are homeless people who would like the opportunity to make a little money and help their community.
  18. Some feature will definitely be called "Leonard Nimoy".
  19. Ok that is a good point about "fatwas" or official religious edicts by Iran's leader CAN be retracted after they decide that Muslims NEED to be defended by nuclear weapons. But that is a huge leap to start by calling nuclear weapons non-Islamic, and then later saying, "we changed our mind, now nuclear weapons are ok to defend Muslims." When leadership in a country is absolute and becomes insulated from public opinion, because the people are all too afraid to protest, that leadership grows delusional, out of touch with reality. Something like Hitler's Nazi Germany or Tojo's Japan.
  20. You should see the movie "Nightcrawler". It is about a paparazzi, who gets paid for interesting video of crime scenes. Those kind of people have police scanners and they learn the codes police use in radio communications with patrols, so they can go to the scene of a crime and film it and sell the video to news stations. Those kind of people don't require $100 an hour. They get paid for RESULTS only, and results means something news worthy. That kind of work is perfect for a homeless person. He likes to be on the street, so he is already street-wise. He gets self-defense training and carries a cell phone and STAYS in communication with the local police patrol. What's the problem with him making a few bucks finding and filming bad guys doing bad things or even police shooting people or bombers putting a suspicious package containing a nuke somewhere? Good cops don't like it at all when bad cops do bad things.
  21. Like I said before, it doesn't have to be homeless people doing the camera work. These can also be professional, covert camera crews. Here, let me quote what I already wrote above, because apparently you didn't notice it. "Ok then forget about using the homeless. We have a valuable video from a brave soul who saw something wrong and filmed it (very poorly). With a little training, it would have been a better video. I would love the opportunity. Why not hire professional camera people, who are trained by the very best, to sweep through public areas, dressed like maintenance people? They keep moving to cover the maximum area. Their cameras start filming only when something looks wrong. The police or CIA probably already do this without telling us."

  23. Oh, then you gave me the minus one. hahaha. This is not for the "majority" of homeless, only those that are qualified and willing. Public cameramen don't need to be homeless. Anyone can be a public cameraman or woman. I only suggested homeless because they are always on the streets. What about anyone that WANTS to make a difference? You have decided this is below stupid, even though many people may WANT to do it. Have you taken a survey? I don't know who would want to do this. What about our freedom? You decided I cannot get a job as a street cameraman because I am vulnerable. You don't know how vulnerable people are. Why don't you let them decide? As the population increases, and resources dwindle, and the nuclear bomb threat grows, you can bet there will only be more and more cameras watching public places.
  24. Has anyone seen the movie "Night Crawler"? If dozens of people who have CHOSEN to live on the street, even after they are offered housing are in need of money, what's wrong with them doing a little work? Maybe some would be glad to have a video camera to "defend the public". It would make them feel important, useful, and earn them a living. In this age of terrorism, when a single person can destroy a city, it would be a good thing for the terrorists, and police, to NEVER KNOW when an inconspicuous homeless person is filming whatever dirty business is going down. Wow, someone really hates my idea. I got a minus 1 for that. Who says they will be in harms way? They would be trained to stay out of harms way. They can be equipped with cameras with powerful zoom that are not noticeable. They should also have a cell phone to call police. Why should anyone who is not doing something bad be concerned about cameras in PUBLIC places? The general knowledge that there MAY be cameras watching public places would put a damper on all kinds of crime.
  25. "Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei has issued a fatwa against the development of nuclear weapons, and President Rouhani has said that Iran would never develop a nuclear weapon". http://www.cnsnews.com/news/article/terence-p-jeffrey/obama-supreme-leader-ayatollah-khamenei-has-issued-fatwa-against Think about it. Not all nations are "kafir". So it would be a big deal for the religious and political leader of Iran to issue a sacred fatwa and then break it. It would be like the pope getting arrested and charged for a sin.
