  1. you could just see what the clock says for you, and add the amount of time it would take the light to reach you from it, judging by yours and its coordinates. get the right time, i think.
  2. "the universe" mentioned that theres ideas about focusing multiple high powered lasers to one point in space-time, it could possibly burn a hole in the fabric of space.
  3. i like the idea of just a hopped up satelite with weight and speed. ram it a little to make it move out of direction of earth. send it to another planet so it doesnt come back.
  4. what about the entagled electron thing. i was watching a video about how these things still have a connection, even after they were seperated. but maybe the video was just crap. i liked it though. how do you put a little tab thing here? maybe this is it. http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Dq454iFp2c&feature=related
  5. airbrush-thats one of the best ideas ive heard so far. i fully agree.
  6. so the plasma at the earths core is in a no gravity environment. sweet.
  7. but wouldnt wormholes only be possible with a thin surface like space thats bent in some way or another? or else the wormholes couldnt connect. or possibly seperate universes seperated by non space and connected by wormholes. Merged post follows: Consecutive posts mergedive also read about the thought of traveling through wormholes at an angle, and you wouldnt be ripped apart. though this could just be sci-fi.
  8. i think your website rocks
  9. yet we still live in the same universe.
  10. would there be gravity at the center of the earth? not for newtonian physics, i dont think theyred be gravity, would there? but what does gr and sr apply to that? whats anyone elses guess for it? or a definitive answer.
  11. mr. skeptic-im getting to like you, you seem to have the same veiws as me, judging by other posts and this. kudos man.
  12. right on. Merged post follows: Consecutive posts mergedyup.
  13. ya. i dont think we should wait until the time comes when we actually need it, i think we should start some stuff up today. with total transparency, as mentiones above, of course.
  14. oh. now i feel stupid....GR stands for General Relativity. whoops.
  15. maybe, with alternative universes, theres alternative physics too. so maybe, its just impossible to reach us. or, heres a little more hopefull. maybe its impossible to reach us because of something else, like, our section of the universe is bent in a certain way wich inhibits terrestrial bodys from getting in "up{or over} the hill" to get to us. but we sure can slide down that hill. just wishfull thinking. i like to consider myself imaginative.
  16. why is led so special? isnt it just a slightly radioactive substance in itself? or is it toxic, maybe.
  17. no, what i think that asprung is saying is lagit. if i understand it right, there should be something{not time}that is universal and absolute. say i dropped a cup. well, someone on the other side of the galaxy wouldnt know about it, but it still happened at the same... i dont want to say time...moment. they wouldnt be aware of it happening of course, and nothing we know of would reach him directly at the time of the event, but it, nevertheless, did happen at the same moment. so thats an example of an absolute... something. also, to add to little understandment of the twins paradox helpers, i can just copy and paste this from another post. it helped me out alot. syadnom posted it.
  18. well. sisyphyus is right there. its just energy until it gets transfered to light and heat.{other forms of energy}. but if your asking what the speed of light,{of a photon},is, it is 299,792,458 metres per second.
  19. what about some unkown or possibly known, massless particle. like a photon, or something along those lines. are photons the only true massless particles? but, i agree, why doesnt something go faster than light. what makes that wall. ya, we couldnt see it, so maybe there already is tons of particles like that.
  20. martin- hey whats up. so, i read about this gr character. is it a person who did tests? im curios. i tried to look them up, but found nothing. what kind of tests did he/she do?
  21. ya, i think thats how it goes... although, i do think there may be hope for humans in the future. like, maybe getting to the nonspace inbetween our bent-up space, and just chill there. so long as were able to, but for all i know, the physics{and theres a likely chance} is going to be way different and something like no gravity or maybe the speed of light is different. or it could be overpopulated.
  22. but blackholes do exist. the hubble has taken pictures of some. or at least what they beleive they are. wormholes, as far as i know, are still theoretical. too bad, there a good little beacon of hope for interstellar travel.
  23. do you guys contain these particles in something? or just get them on spot from something? if the first, what in?
  24. :-)well, i dont know about learning websites, but i know space.com is a great website for astronomy and space in general. i go there almost as much as here. as for a telescope, it depends on what you want exactly. if you want some real quality stuff, id suggest to go online to the orion website and check them out. they also have some good cheap stuff too.
