  1. whats a giant flywheel? {please excuse if this is a stupid question} Merged post follows: Consecutive posts merged.oh, by the way, i like your avatar.
  2. i think there could be. i dont think there would be much mileage, or much room, but i think it could work. just have alot of springs, and the kind that are in wind up toys, just alot longer and bigger. it could rewind as it drives and as it sits still outside, just have like a windmill-like thing that rewinds the spring on top of or on the car some where. what do you guys think? has it beem tried?
  3. ohggh. that sucks! im a freshmen. one grade above the acceptable age limit. ouch. if only i knew about this last year! i would'av totally gone for it.
  4. ha. i use a wood burner and a little wound up solder strip.
  5. well, my title kind of says it. i was just wondering how bad it is to breath this stuff in. i like making stuff, and when im using electricity i use saughter alot. so im wondering how bad it is and where it affects. thanks.
  6. it sounds pretty cool. im 15. and im wondering if anyone knows more about it. i know its been going on for at least a year, and i thought id throw a line out here and see if anyone has heard of this. i want to know if theres an age limit. i cant find one on the website.
  7. thanks guys. im fine now. i went to the doctor, and he said it was just a common cold. ya, i was just worried because if i get strep throaght or a similiar thing because i guess it could weaken my heart. youch. i know, it sucks. oh, and hey mr. Jackson33, im not a hypocondriac bud, and just because i spelt a couple words wrong, doesnt mean that i have them. so you can just shove those acusations where the sun doesnt shine. ha, i like it.
  8. ya, i agree. id like to know how to build a solar panel too.
  9. posted by airbrush what do you mean space-time cant exist without matter? why not?. that might be so with energy{ if that} but i see no reason for space-time not to exist without matter. it just wouldnt be curved much. and, ya, i know, matter is alot of energy compressed into itself, but, they still are two different things, just different "versions". matter is a result of energy compression.
  10. hey man. i like your theory. i think its perfectly beleiveable. ya, you have to have some tests and eqautions to prove your right, but i think you can do it.
  11. wow, thats really cool. d h, your an aerospace engineer. sweet. is there such thing as a atronautical engineer, or something along those lines. i thought aerospace because i want to deal with space craft, not so much of normal airplanes, i thought thats what aerospace engineers do, if so, than thats defiantely what i want to do. i know you have to know aerodynamics and stuff to get to space, but id prefer to do more on the spacecraft {every part, like engines, design, etc...} side of it.
  12. oh, so thats how earth stops space radiation. ok, so. why dont we have electromagnets to stop space radiation for the trip to mars?Does it use too much energy? just put more solar panels all over the craft.
  13. well, i dont know about time or space, but it did create matter. or so whe think.
  14. what exactly does strep throat feel like?
  15. CO2 (G) + 2LiOH (S) --> LiCO3 (S) + H2O (L). hmm. how do they do this?
  16. what would an electric charge or magnetic feild to the protons?
  17. no my tonsils werent removed, but i looked online at tonsilites and i dont think thats it, the sore throat is the only shared symptom, and mine is more in the sineses than my throat. strep was about 2 maybe 3 months ago. it was a while ago. no, im not really getting many other symptoms but this one, i have a relatively clogged nose. ya, im 15. we want to waste money, thats why im going online, instead of seeing a doctor, we kind of blew alot of money on my rheumatic fever thing, because after that, we went to see a second opinion, but, we saw the wrong doctor, he was a pulmonoligist or something that deals with the lungs, but we still had to pay. it sucked, we got screwed. and i have 3 brothers and sisters, and we dont have much money. but its cool. i looked online some more, and i think whats happened it that my sineses were clogged, i think thats why i get these regularly, maybe my sineses are smaller than normal or something, but ya. and i think thats how i got strep throat last time, my sineses were clogged for a while, wich let some bacteria find its way to a little paradise of mucus, which we left untreated, wich possibly led to rheumatic fever, we still dont know for sure. but, ive been drinking extra water, and am gonna go inhale alot of steam, thats supposed to open up those bauggers. if only i had some wasabi....
  18. hello, im hoping someone with a medical background reads this. ive been having these things in the back of my throat, i think its just a build up of mucus. its in my sineses, and in the back of my throat. its not really sore. it just feels, well, almost swollen. when i loogy up stuff from my throat or sineses it kind of eases up, but not really unless its alot.gross i know. i dont think its strep throat because i feel fine other than this. i get this sometimes, just like almost every 2-4 months. it usually lasts like a week at the most. usually just a couple of days. today is my 4th day this time. 3 others in my family say theyre having similiar symptoms too. my dad thinks its allergies, but, were not all blood related, and we have totally different lifestyles, so i dont think its all just the same allergie, on the same day, in the same spot.{throat}. it might be though. i have gone to have this checked out too, but then it was different, i was getting fevers with it wich were really extreme, and it was weekly. the guy said i had{had, as in past tense} strep throat wich developed into rhematic fever. well, i looked that up online and it turns out thats a pretty serious illness, but he acted like it was no big deal, and that it was totally gone and i was homeward bound.well ive been eating healthy, am on the swim team for my school, wich gives me the hardest workout in my life{wich, i read that swimming is great for the heart, but thats not the only reason why i joined, i also just like swimming}, and take coq10 daily. but i dont think that this is strep throat{ and i hope its not too} because this doesnt really feel the same as last time, and i feel fine other than the throat. please, can anyone help me out on this?
  19. helicopter size?!. well. itd be quite a feat to engineer a helicopter off of mousetraps, any size. but, i think its possible. itd take alot of mousetraps though.
  20. so, will space ever stop expanding? if so, how long until then? and will life still be a possibility with expanded space?
  21. oh, cool. goody. we might not have that on a space ship, but that does mean that no protons get to the middle of asteroids. maybe we could snag a meteor from near us whenever one comes and is at least like 15 meters thick. then we could dig a little tunnel to the very core. leaving an outside few meters of just rock. put some ion engines{or plasma, or other} and life support and all that other stuff spaceships have and use things like this for long distance space travel.[{god, so badly worded, i know, but i dont want to list all the things spaceships have}{like i can}]
  22. i guess manipulable isnt really a great word for it, more along the lines of controllable. in other words, can you move them? are they waves or particles? im talking any kind of proton. can we do anything with protons with the technology that we have now?
  23. oh, i must have misread. woops. ok. so protons.hmm. thats alot tougher. well, for starters. what stops protons? obviously nothing that effective known to us right now, or wed be using it. hmm. what about electromagnetic waves? what effect do they have on protons? if any.? or antiprotons? do we know how to get them? Merged post follows: Consecutive posts mergedif so, could we use them?
  24. but uranium is radioactive in itself right? along with lead i think, so would this really eliminate it? the iss uses the different things to help sheild it from radation, like the earth itself and aluminum and others. at least thats what the universe now website said.
  25. what about something like a mirror surrounding it. or at least something shiny. that would reflect everything right?
