could a biodynamic ecosystem be used on a spaceship?
cameron marical replied to cameron marical's topic in Physics
ya, and nature does seem to pick only the best, so maybe nature is more efficient than mechanics, even now. but i do see were your getting at, and i agree, kind of. i think that you should kind of have some yin and yang in their, instead of just one set of ups and one set of downs, have ups that cancel out the downs, and vice-versa. as for the hugeness problem, the only thing i can suggest is that we mine stuff off other planets so we dont cripple this one, and even though that might be far off, i think its still of some use to do some tests now on things like how to mix in technology with mini ecosystems{dont want to fry the frogs}. -
it is capable of long distance space flight.

What is the total sum of all numbers?
cameron marical replied to devrimci_kürt's topic in Mathematics
i think its the 0, since infinity isnt a real number, so far as we know. but then again, 0 iskind of an opinion number too, since it has no value. no, i doubt it equals one, i really think that its zero, the sum of all numbers is zero. say n=all positive numbers, and N=all negative numbers, well n + N=0 then. only for the sum though, if its something like the dividend, then that might be a little harder, or maybe thats just 0 too. -
could a biodynamic ecosystem be used as/on a spaceship? like, if you had the whole spaceship{except for the engines and others}as a biodynamic ecosystem, water supply recycled to the fullest, food eaten, and reproduced, and basicly have a superminiature earth on/as a spaceship. if so, then we could actually live out of earth, pull some serious star trek. its engines could be something like laser powered, it doesnt really need to get anywhere fast. though it would be better. have generators on board, and at least more than a hundred people, becuase less, than mutations would eventually occur and the intelligent life aboard the ship would die, or become unlike any other human on earth, plus the fact that there going to be taller in space, paler, and probably pretty different than as we are now. its kind of fun to think about, no supplys other than the ones origanlly provided, no touchdowns, just space. i know theres alot more than im saying as problem wise, and requirments, but i think this thing would be too long and people would take a look and decide against reading it.

Microwaves melt your organs?!?!
cameron marical replied to christiannnna's topic in Anatomy, Physiology and Neuroscience
sure thing, and as for that rubber mat, i think thats perfect for stopping electricity if you slept fine and there was no negative side affects, just have a couple of those on there. if you do get shocked, then thats either something else, or one dangerously strong electric current. now having your face swollen, i dont know, it might be the electricity, but it could also be something like a bug or something your allergic to, wich likes to bite the bundled up human. as for someone else doing this to you, its possible, especially if someone you know and are not fond of each other are nearby. i dont want to sound like another brick in the wall, but i agree that you should go see someone like a doctor, and check out whats below your bed. maybe just the floor below you, or the bed itself, maybe theres some spiders or bugs of some sort in there. check it out. have you seen anyone other than over the internet? -
can you power a spaceship off of fusion?
cameron marical replied to cameron marical's topic in Engineering
petebro, really? id like to see it if you could have some pictures or something of it. thats really cool. how much did it cost to get a vaccum to test it in? -
why cant something with mass go the speed of light? in space theres no friction, so theres nothing to stop it, ya, itd take alot of energy to get it going that fast, but i dont see why its impossible. like if you shot a gun, out of a bigger gun, and the gun shot would shoot out another gun, and they all shoot at the same velocity,just doubled of course, then the second gun shot would be twice as fast as the last. do this over and over again, itd take a while, but once your in the high numbers, itll take less and less every time{obviously}. so you might be able to then get to the speed of light. if so, then what would happen if you shot one more time? would it do the same thing as a photon would do, continue accelerating at the speed of light from wich it was sent, or, since it does have mass, would it go twice as fast as the speed of light? what would be the time like on board? and off board to people on earth{assuming the guns were spaceships, and in space}

cool, tell him thanks for me, and, what is it? -
how does the body create electricity? i know we use it to think, and move, but what and where creates it? biology isnt realy my subject, even though how interesting it is, i am realy interested in energy and electricity production though. and im curios how we derive electricity, though we dont have any copper or ceramic-titanium mixes in us{as far as i know} and that sparcks up another q, how does the atmosphere make electricity, or the clouds. like lightning. is it the water in the clouds and the movement adjacent to the magnetized earth? i know this isnt really biology, but i thought id ad that on and see if i can kill 2 birds with one stone.

thanks man. -
if ive read and watched correctly, einstein concluded that you can esseintelly travel back in time, or at least ''escape'' it, by travelling at the speed of light. how? i watched a thing on the history channel were there was an astrounaught on there, who had a twin brother, and when he went in to space, he went so fast that he is now actually like .511 seconds younger than his brother now. how? can anyone help me out here?

you guys are right, im sorry. its not lazyness at all, i was just kind of pissed my question wasnt getting agreed with. no, i know when to stop and say im wrong, and im wrong. i agree, and finally understand{ i dont know why i wasnt getting it, just something didnt click}. i don like to consider myself a simpleton, but a 15 year old still has a long way to go i guess. -
The Official "Introduce Yourself" Thread
cameron marical replied to Radical Edward's topic in The Lounge
hey there, my names cameron. im new here, been here for about a week, and am pretty much diggin it here. im a male, live in california, but no, i live in the central valley, no beaches, no babes, just a bunch of wangsters. {wanna be gangsters with no lives other than being pricks and dancing to idiotic music, if you want to call it that} dissapointing isnt it.ya. im pretty much obsessed with every science in general, if only there was a carreer that covered all science. man id be on that, but as it stands, im studying to become a physicist/aeronauticall engineer. although im only in high school, im taking extra classes and learning alot on the web{including this website}. -

posted by klaynos. We can work it out if you want. How much quantum mechanics do you know? not much to tell you the truth, but i really will give it my best shot. -
what is the universe expanding into?
cameron marical replied to cameron marical's topic in Astronomy and Cosmology
so its like space is stretching, i understand, and i like it. but when you inflate a balloon it gets bigger, hence expanding into something, like the space around it. and the idea that we just dont have the "equipment" to visualize space, although legit, seems to me like sheer laziness. -
if your excelling at biology, but your goals are other, i say, use your best ascets for your biggest goal. your good at biology, ok, well use those to solve problems you have. say you want to be a physicist, wich is a pretty broad topic, well you can study something like colonizing other planets, using the biology skill you have, and some math skills{ wich you probably will need, though you dont need to really know it all by heart, you can just go to someone who excells at math and work on something together}, you can come up with methods and equations to efficiently colonize another planet, therefore expaning the life expectancy of humans drasticly,{ in the long run, race-wise, not lifespan of the average human}, i.e. physics. kind of. alright, this might sound like alot of useless crap, all im saying is that you can use the already developed skills youve aquired through biology to help out in the interest and goal of physics. just study harder than the other guy to catch up, and you can do whatever you want. dont let anyone tell you you cant do something, when you know you can. p.s. im with you with the shrodinger stuff, and ive been obessed with physics and mathmatics for quite a while.

can you power a spaceship off of fusion?
cameron marical replied to cameron marical's topic in Engineering
so you can use a laser to propel something in space, i understand this. i think ive heard of this idea too, but, is it realy plausable? i love this idea, as long as you have electricity you have momentum, but exactly how much electricity would this take? and how big and powerfull a laser would be required? i know that once your moving in space you keep moving because theres no friction or gravity, but you could also use smaller versions of these for turning. -
what is the universe expanding into?
cameron marical replied to cameron marical's topic in Astronomy and Cosmology
That doesn't follow. All that is meant by "universe expanding" is that distances between objects are increasing*. That can happen without there being any space outside of the usual space we know. no, it cant, its either the universe is compressing somewhere far off, or that its expanding. i dont see how anything can part away from itself without expaning or compressing. Merged post follows: Consecutive posts mergedbut i can see if the distance between galaxies are moving away from eich other, into already established space, but that brings up another q, whats making them do this? -
what is the universe expanding into?
cameron marical replied to cameron marical's topic in Astronomy and Cosmology
i agree, and where is this thread at? i havent seen it yet, id like to read it. -
i know theres ideas for powering spaceships off of fusion, engine uses fusion to run, and use fusion to power spaceship electrically too, so long as they find a solution to these fusion problems, {which i think doing this in space would be way easier in space than on earth with gravity}, but how, if im right, the process of fusion connects atoms together. i dont see how you can use that to power anything, or use that as an engine an space. fission, i understand, could be used to propell spaceships, but you need radioactive materials, and is more dangerous, id rather use fusion because the fuel is abundant and its not any where near as radioactive.

what is the universe expanding into?
cameron marical replied to cameron marical's topic in Astronomy and Cosmology
if the universe is expanding, then it has to expand into something. just because we dont know why its doing this doesnt mean it doesnt make sense.
