Most of the conservatives I have talked to are against the legalization of prostitution.

There's no way this could be enforced. I don't think you should have to have all your firearms locked up, it somewhat defeats the purpose of having one. The only alternative I can think of is to buy a fingerprint safe, and they are not cheap. You have to use your best judgement as to keep firearms out of the wrong hands (children).

Have you read these yet? The Origin of Species The Selfish Gene The Blind Watchmaker Anything by Richard Dawkins I would recommend. Here's a list of Evolution related books on Amazon.com arranged by best selling. Many good books are on it.

I would recommend shopping for books at amazon.com. You can find just about any book you want. just search 'Evolution' and you'll find plenty.

This is a good thing.

So I have a stubborn traffic light at the intersection that leads to my house, it's extremely annoying to deal with everyday. I've read that a Neodymium magnet can produce a high enough magnetic field to make even the most stubborn lights change. I've seen products for sell like Green Light Trigger, now I can buy a magnet off eBay, among other places, at much cheaper prices. So I'm wondering, what power Neo magnet would I need and about how large? I believe the powers range from N24 to N54. Also, these magnets do not hold up well under heat (anything over 175F/ 80C), so I've read. Do you think it would hold up if I stuck it on the inside of my engine bay (on the frame)? Thanks.

What prevents FM radio from reaching CD quality?
CurvKyle replied to CurvKyle's topic in Other Sciences
yea 24khz, I'm not sure if my headphones were capable, but I could hear the high pitched sound when I click the button so I would assume they could. -
What prevents FM radio from reaching CD quality?
CurvKyle replied to CurvKyle's topic in Other Sciences
I took one of those online hearing tests and I could hear up to 24hz. I'm 21 years old. I've lived all over the country and the FM radio is definitely no comparison to my cd player. Some stations do sound better then others, but I can notice the difference. -
I've got a few assumptions such as noise or signal loss, but I don't know the real answer. Anyone know?

Eternal life and its effects on the human brain?

If it were possible to stop aging, would the neurons still be lost, or is it not a part of the aging process? -
Eternal life and its effects on the human brain?
CurvKyle replied to CurvKyle's topic in Other Sciences
well as long as those organs still function there shouldn't be a problem, right? If the aging process is somehow stopped, all the organs should function properly forever. The brain, however, is much more complex and I would think some complications could arise. Just a guess though, I'm no science major. -
Hypothetically of course, but if there was some medical breakthrough that allowed one to live for tens of thousands of years (if not forever) what effects would it have on the human brain that has evolved to live only a hundred years or so?

How about HeadOn? Looks like snake oil to me.

What I want to know is who managed to attach stilts to ANT LEGS They must have one hell of a steady hand. Also, what do you think allows for these ants to adjust their stride depending on the length of their legs? The only thing I could come up with is maybe the various terrain they walk on changes how far they go with each step. Any other ideas?

somethings wrong with my knuckle!
CurvKyle replied to gaara's topic in Anatomy, Physiology and Neuroscience
Don't punch through wood! I punched someone and hit them with the wrong part of my hand and it gave me a "Boxers Fracture". The knuckle no longer protrudes like it did, its flat. But, it doesn't hurt and isn't swollen.... so it sounds like you've got more issues. Normally, fingers heal up pretty well on their own, doesn't require surgery or anything to fix.. (other then taping the finger to the adjacent finger to keep from moving it too much). My hand stayed swollen for a while then started to heal itself after a week. Sometimes it takes light surgery to fix the broke bone. just my 2 cents -
True, if it's only a few drops I shouldn't be able to smell it at all.
-
yea i thought about bleach, but the smell is overwhelming. Ethanol eh? I guess I could pick that up at a home improvement store or something? what concentration do you think would do the trick? What about Isopropyl? Thanks to you both!

I've got one of those portable a/c's that has a water collection reservoir (holds about 2 qt.) where all the humidity it pulls out of the air goes. This thing pulls a ton of humidity out of the air and me living in Florida doesn't help. I can literally empty it every couple hours and if it doesn't get completely emptied at least every other day algae starts to grow. I'm wondering what I might be able to use to keep algae from growing inside the a/c without damaging the plastic reservoir the water collects into. Thanks! P.S. - I'm not to lazy to empty the a/c everyday, but this thing weighs over 100lbs and you have to lift it to empty it.

Should I trust this guy?

they are full of it, these 'fact' filled books are nothing more then propaganda used to trick and convert you to their beliefs.
