  1. Umm, i don't realy get why you would want this, (Unless you are talking about a local (sub-)government, which i doubt.) Else there are generally two reasons this is implemented: 1:Simplicity, as most/all of the election-systems were implemented before the digital age. 2:To stop competition from smaller parties. (which is something the established parties would like, but i don't see why not just go for a dictatorship/kingdom or autocracy then)
  2. Ah, i get it, the guy i responded to thought Russia 's trade was being isolated to China. Russia is stil buying weapons from Europe, and selling gas to Europe including the Ukraïne though. I also have doubts a country the size of Russia realy does need to trade with others.
  3. Do you have any argument of why/how coöperation with China would be dangerous for Russia ? Also why "isolated" ?
  4. I don't see this happening anytime soon. But if it did, i doubt it would be a good thing for the world; too much power would be concentrated in one mega-alliance and the powerfull would no longer keep each other in balance, it'd take them some ~40 years to raid most resourcerich and strategic locations on this planet.
  5. But that's precisely what they did, the Ukraïne was one of those former USSR-countries :\
  6. It's realy centuries ago we waged war in the name of religion against "heretics" Nowadays we wage war in the name of "freedom" against "drugs" "communism" and "terrorists" Same game, different propaganda.
  7. Religion is probably the best coping mechanism for death we currently have, but religion is also a mix of morales and laws (there are rules in religion, but unlike law they're not enforced by, well, force ) Most of our social constructs(morals, politics, economics, culture, science) are based on make-believe, where illusion becomes (close to)reality. Constructs that fail to somehow address reality get discarded.
  8. Most cells will die off quite soon, they're not evolved to gather nutrition in a non-friendly environment(the body serves them nutrition normally) and they're not protected from predatory bacteria. So dehydration and rotting, on the level that is more visible to us.
  9. I think the likelyhood of finding a solution to a problem decreases when the first solution to the problem is found; very logical if only one solution is possible, but still applies when a hundred different solutions are possible. (because we're much better in copying ideas instead of coming up with new ones)
  10. The only country that does not have nukes in this conflict is the Ukraïne, and if they did try to (military) remove the Russians from their soil, the Russians could simply invade the rest of the Ukraïne with no fear of repercussions, so they didn't try that. (aka this conflict was possibly worse because of the lack of deterrent/nukes) I suppose you were talking about the Russian nukes though, but i don't think the USA ever had a serious opportunity to remove them.
  11. Do you have a linky or something ? I don't know which government nor which aircraft you're talking about.
  12. Media here (western europe) is trying to imply the Russian economy is hit hard, which is not what they were implying before(iirc the sanctions were targeting only individuals directly involved in the annexation) When it comes down to it, Russia is huge and can get almost anything it wants in the country itself, unlike the Ukraïne.
  13. This is a reason why we often try to quarantine a disease.
  14. I think this is still the universe of chaos, consequences only exist if one cares about them, hence they're an quality of (semi-conscious) life, not of the universe as a whole.
  15. So do you "feel" it when the phenomenon occurs, and then feel something else when during the phenomenon a metalish object is brought close to your forehead ? Are there types of material that do not trigger it at all ?
  16. Same here, i sometimes used to bring a marker to a party and have people draw stuff on my arm, knowing it 'd be gone in a few days.
  17. If you were to test how much a teacher motivates his students, one thing to consider is asking the students how much a teacher motivates them.
  18. If i may make a small observation, the conscious mind seems to be the part that deals with other humans. Not just because humans are complex, but also because we share social constructs; Simple conversations, where people can lie. Moral codes, which will punish certain behaviours. Social contracts and/or relationships. And our social status(es). You, the one consciously reading this, are pretty much the gatekeeper of your mind, and it's diplomat, to see you are not the only ruler of your mind and get upset is a bit arrogant. I think the answer you may seek lies in harmony with yourself, in order to not obstruct any of this querying for packets of information.
  19. The Dutch government has taxed hardware needed for copying and put that into a funds for artists for a while now, a win-win situation in my opinion, but now the EU is interfering, and our old policy is deemed "illegal" by some even though the EU is not legal according to our laws.
  20. Hmm, we're creatures with a lot of imagination, that part of imagination that (we expect to) match(es) reality, we call logic. Basically, our ability to distinguish patterns. Uniqueness can be used to give the starting parameters for an object(and subject), and i do not wish to deny it's importance to any advanced kind of logic, but wouldn't it fall under something like memory first ?
  21. No worriez, we're not too good at it Joking aside, think about what you're thinking about, and whether it actually relates and effects you on any positive/negative way.
  22. We also sometimes get homesick when we're far away for a long time. I bet you 'd get homesick if you were to visit Africa for a prolonged period of time.
  23. Alkis3, i live in the Netherlands, and officially we're one of the richer countries in the world. To danswer your question: yes, people here will not easily depart with 5-10% of their income to a friend, but off course it differs from person to person etc I shall also give you some insight in the how/why, do keep in mind though that i know more about my country than i know about yours. First of all, our government is big, it spends roughly half of all the money in the country, which means that our taxes also come to roughly half our money. The government pays for a lot of social security things with that, meaning that if, for some reason, a person doesn't have an income or only a small income, there is some law for giving that person money. So if a friend of mine is broke, it means he needs to go to the government, and get some of that money that i paid to it, instead of asking me. (and yes, i think this may be detrimental to our morals in the long run, but that is another discussion) Secondly, we're a large community, i can easily cross the country from one end to the other by means of public transportation or by car. Going to work this morning i left my town, crossed a second, and traveled over the outskirts of a third It's quite easy to meet a lot of people, and to know a lot of people, and there are plenty of people who will try to abuse a caring soul. Most parents will support their kids through college btw, even though the government pays for most things around college, and a lot of people are caring, but when money gets involved we gotta be more carefull.
  24. Numerolgy doesn't predict numbers based on events, it predicts events and/or patterns based on numbers.
  25. That web-like glass is a very selfless idea. The thing with birds though is, they only live a few years, thus their natural selection goes quite fast. Some birds will not kill themselves on see-through glass for various reasons. Before you get a whole city to use this new glass in all buildings, the birds will already have adapted.
