  1. Maybe not all but some. It is 12:40 a.m. now in Malaysia. I shall hit the sack now. I will continue tomorrow.
  2. Well, sorry if my statement angers you. Yet, resources can somehow be used up. We can`t wait for a new supernova to supply us with new products. Yeah, I don`t mean to and I try not to let this happen. i promise you .This is only worse case scenario. And more importantly, we still didn`t find out any living organism on those planets. In fact, we don`t have to invade those planets by weapons. We can somehow start off with investigation or research.
  3. I obtained this knowledge from a documentary by History Channel.
  4. I got what you mean. sorry for misunderstanding your words.
  5. But this would mean loosing a space garbage collector. Jupiter`s strong gravity attracts asteroid from the main belt and eventually clears them. Of course, the asteroid might sometime be sent wrongly to Earth.
  6. Yeah, you are right. I am talking about colonizing in this context or thread.
  7. I will accept this punishment as I have said in the other post earlier. i don`t need to repeat this statement twice, by the way. If you investigate deeply, you might found out that I actually post this post lately if compared to the earlier one. Anyway, thanks for reminding me what mistake really means. Mistake is a teacher that teaches you the right thing when you did something wrong or right but won`t teach you something wrong when no matter you did it right or wrong.
  8. Ok, thanks. I will welcome opinions from all of the science community.
  9. Thanks Moontanman. But please don`t vote this post up. Thank you. I am learning from my mistake.
  10. It is not surprise for a 15 year-old-student to feel happy when someone praise him at least not a very high achievement, but for me it is my dream to be a cosmologist , to be a theoretical physicist and to be the next Einstein. Each down is a brand new inspiration, a new leap towards a better tomorrow. I will be optimistic. As my saying goes: Success emphasizes progress not results. Your down vote is part of my progress not my final result. Thanks for inspiring me and boosting me towards the future. I won`t discuss about reputation. Sorry for violating your rules. I apologize for my deep mistake and to those who have been irritated by my action. Sorry. I promise you this won`t happen again. It won`t.
  11. I won`t try to figure out who did that, but I hope he did think rationally.
  12. Oops! Thanks for your correction, BigNose. I am too busy replying threads when I am typing that reply.
  13. Thanks for your kind and warm advice, Cap`n Refsmmat. I appreciate a lot of it. However, based on some numbers for naval fleets and recreational boats, neither one contributes much to the total. This is an extract from the article http://what-if.xkcd.com/33/. In this context, I don`t believe in one thing. For sure, richer people are start to getting rich, so there is no doubt that the recreational boat number will increase as China`s millionaire are getting richer and richer. On the other hand, as the conflict in the west Pacific is getting worse while the same for South China Sea too, have you ever thought of increasing naval fleets across the globe, especially Asia and the Pacific?
  14. The function of Cerebrospinal fluid is the same as blood, why don`t our human body is created with brain filled with blood but not cerebrospinal fluid? Let say if blood can regulate its own concentration to act as shock absorber, thus fully replacing the function of cerebrospinal fluid.
  15. You are right, by the way. Let me ask you one question: Are you human? Your answer must be yes. Human life must be complicated and can never be simple like plant which just make minor movement. I know it is not the issue here, at all. But would it happen? Yes, definitely yes! As long as you live on Earth! What can happen, it can be discussed. Moreover, it is related to the topic-solar power plant. I can safely assumed it is a cons of building huge solar power plants on Earth, can`t I? Why my orbital solar power plant can be better, cheaper, more convenient and work? Because there is Sun! No Sun, no orbital power plant. I am just kidding actually. Here is why 1. Better You know, in space there is no air resistance(neglecting ISM objects). Thus it must be safe to wander around space. Think of cosmic rays? No problem, if it is a problem, Voyager 1 can`t be more than 19 billion km or over 141 AU from us right now. Think of asteroids and meteorites? No problem, any possible methods can be implemented. Moreover, most meteorites and asteroids are actually evaporated as they fly near the sun (only if your probe is highly heat resistance, you can survive). Think of who operating it? Of course the UN, which is neutral. I don`t think anyone has objection to my suggestion. 2. Cheaper Actually, the larger the solar cell, the closer the cells to the sun, the cheaper it is. You see, the total output of the solar radiations is very high. This would indeed offset your high cost of building such a huge solar station. There are 7 billion people in the world. There must be more than enough. A bonus to this project is installing EM towers on the stations and a receiver on your electronic gadgets. This mean no matter where you are, as long as you have a EM Energy Receiver, you don`t have to wait till you get back home and only then start to charge you gadgets. Electricity directly from space(Sun) to your gadgets. 3. More Convenient Of course, you don`t want the possible scenarios in the above post happen. So, build solar stations in space is better. People leaving in the desert areas will be more convenient instead of seeing themselves homeless due to usage of lands to build solar stations. People become convenient because of the added bonus. Everything become instant. 4. Work i want to emphasize the fact that it is true that sending something into space is expensive. But technology shall bring down the cost. According the Moore`s Law, the number of transistors on integrated circuits doubles approximately every two years. So, how would space transport continue to become expansive. The trend must go down not up. So, why cannot work? Just set your foot down and go ahead.
  16. Are you sure that all the stars we see in the night sky are in our galaxy? The are billions of them, how would you prove then? Since stars are located in a galaxy, and galaxies are located in cluster, how can you sure that in such a vast expanding universe, the proper motion of stars really has nothing to do with the expansion of the universe even if the local expansion of the universe is said to be overcome by the local gravity. The gravity is shown in space-time, isn`t?
  17. You mean using photons to propel a craft? What about craft that are not closer to the sun like New Horizons heading towards Pluto? An exception is Jupiter`s Juno, but that is much more closer to the sun than Pluto or somehow Sedna.
  18. Her daughter is working in a hospital. She did learn something about neuroscience. As Kaku had stated, she did refer to her daughter and several experts in that relevant field. As I have stated, Kaku did discuss something about quantum consciousness and includes Schrodinger`s Cat problem. You don`t have to be so opposing in this context. Anyway, I like Schrodinger too.
  19. The Earth, the map and the atlas and you and your statement and me and my reply are all on the same thing-Space.
  20. If you burn hydrogen in air, you used up oxygen in air. What about if the number of plants can`t sustain the amount of oxygen used up since forests are continued to be chopped down. Thus, oxygen cycle will become imbalance. You used up oxygen to create water and how can we breathe then? Only photosynthesis can provide oxygen in large scale and minor from chemicals like KMnO4 can be burnt to provide oxygen but how many KMnO4 can you have on Earth?
  21. Important points: 1. Please suggest ways to overcome if wars happen in these deserts. In Gobi Desert, it might still quite safe but that doesn`t mean it will always be safe, especially since China had risen up and the northern autonomy territory racial problem haven`t been solved. 2. Please provide me the most efficient battery composition to store huge amount of energy if one day your power plant fails to work or needed to be used during night. 3. Please suggest is there any more efficient ways to transmit your electricity throughout the world across continents and vast ocean. Have you ever think of the environment impacts on aquatic organism and desert flora and fauna? 4. Please tell me how would you manage your desert power plant. if your power plant is built at Gobi Desert, no matter Mongolia and China. One day, war happens, China just have to shut down the power plant and we are gone? 5. Not yet gone, never mind. Still have backup plans? Do share with all of us. 6. The most efficient solar panel is no more than 50% http://cleantechnica.com/2014/02/02/which-solar-panels-most-efficient/ 7. How are you going to pay for the lost of the nomads in the deserts? How much and how? 8. Who is going to be responsible for the power plan operation and maintenance? 10. If your EPA does not suit the needs of both deserts` country government and the project is banned, then how? 11. If you are right, then why don`t you suggest your project to the UN. Maybe they are interested in your ideas? Good luck.
  22. I admit that we don`t have any shortage of hydrogen. But, how knows one day we will rely on it. Apart from green renewable energy source, hydrogen is also a alternative too. Hydrogen cars are not rare now. We should prepare for the future, strike the iron when it is still hot, not always assuming don`t cross a bridge until you come to one. We may know who we are today but we don`t know who will we be tomorrow, a quote by William Shakespeare. Moreover, you don`t want to kill marine aquatic life in the vast ocean just to simply obtain hydrogen, do you?
  23. You are wrong in this context. I did ask my chemistry teacher this question. He said it is simply not economical unless it is on a large scale. And one thing, natural gas can be used up one day in about 60-70 years time.
  24. Physics is not pure Maths. You shouldn`t just neglect this statement. If you treat this case as pure Maths, then Physics shall has gone. i hope that we can still discuss this case and try to visualize it, not just stay away from it. You can`t avoid Maths in Physics but that doesn`t mean Physics is Maths. No matter how it exists, it must be visualized. Remember how Hinton describe hyperspace? He was successful in visualizing hyperspace by hypercube. If you just think of Maths, Maths and Maths, Physics will have ended long ago. I won`t surrender in this context. I won`t just call-it-quit just because it is Maths in Physics. If possible, please help me to visualize your statement. Thanks ajb.
