In my opinion Donald Trump is senile and his children selfish vacuous individuals who will not take the fall for him. If Mueller has anything on Kushner or Jr. that will equal prison time either would flip on Trump to spare themselves.

New tech always makes old tech obsolete. As that applies to the global arms race weapons and the threats they pose grow exponentially with each generation.

Slaves could not vote. Making slaves any portion of a person without an equal portion of a vote increased the voting power of slave owners as they got to vote on behalf of their slaves who counted toward electoral votes. Do the math.

@ Mods, there are are a few different threads which deal with issues surround Donald Trump and Russia:" Mueller indictments", "which parts of the Constitution has Trump violated", "Media's made up stories about Trump", and this thread "Collusion with Russia".Would it be possible to consolidate some? I believe the Mueller indictments speak to which possible parts of the Constitution Trump may have violated and Russia collusion is part of that.

You need a citation to support this nonsense that come from someplace other that a pro Christian Theocracy extremists website. You are attempting to make this claim as a historical fact. It is not relevant or even true.

It was an anti-slavery position? It wasn't an anti-slavery position? Your link is an American Vision editorial written by Gary DeMar. It is pure B.S. propaganda I think you should be embarrassed of yourself for citing. Gary DeMar and his pro Christian theocracy website aren't constitutional scholars or good constitutional resources. From your link: "American Vision’s mission is to Restore America to its Biblical Foundation—from Genesis to Revelation. American Vision (AV) has been at the heart of worldview study since 1978, providing resources to exhort Christian families and individuals to live by a Biblically based worldview. Whether by making available educational resources about God & Government, or by tackling the formidable issue of eschatology in the Church, AV is on the front lines, circulating material around the globe to Christians passionate to meet God on His terms in every area of life—right now and for generations to come." Who is Gary Demar: DeMar states in an article on the American Vision web site, "Darwinism has secularized everything in America, including our understanding of the Constitution".[10] American Vision promotes the idea "that the world is not ending tomorrow and that Christ’s Kingdom will be victorious on the earth".[11] AV connects the writings of the founders of America with the organization's vision of contemporary America: "In the New England Confederation of 1643, the Pilgrims stated: '[W]e all came to these parts of America, with one and the same end and aim, namely, to advance the Kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ.'”[12] DeMar is a proponent of partial preterism. The Southern Poverty Law Center has described American Vision as an extremist group and an organization advocating "a complete theocracy governed by Old Testament law." It describes DeMar as "an outspoken anti-gay activist who regularly hosts and speaks at Christian-right events. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gary_DeMar

"The special counsel investigating Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election has charged retired lieutenant general and former national security adviser Michael Flynn with making false statements to the FBI, according to court papers filed by the special counsel. Flynn is due in federal court in Washington, D.C., on Friday morning, where he is expected to plead guilty to a single charge of making false statements." https://www.npr.org/2017/12/01/561238303/michael-flynn-sr-expected-to-plead-guilty-to-lying-to-fbi "Former President Obama warned President Donald Trump against hiring Mike Flynn as his national security adviser, three former Obama administration officials tell NBC News. The warning, which has not been previously reported, came less than 48 hours after the November election when the two sat down for a 90-minute conversation in the Oval Office." https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/obama-warned-trump-against-hiring-mike-flynn-say-officials-n756316 "WASHINGTON — Less than a week into the Trump administration, Sally Q. Yates, the acting attorney general, hurried to the White House with an urgent concern. The president’s national security adviser, she said, had lied to the vice president about his Russian contacts and was vulnerable to blackmail by Moscow. “We wanted to tell the White House as quickly as possible,” Ms. Yates told a Senate Judiciary subcommittee on Monday. “To state the obvious: You don’t want your national security adviser compromised with the Russians.” But President Trump did not immediately fire the adviser, Michael T. Flynn, over the apparent lie or the susceptibility to blackmail. Instead, Mr. Flynn remained in office for 18 more days. Only after the news of his false statements broke publicly did he lose his job on Feb. 13." https://www.nytimes.com/2017/05/08/us/politics/michael-flynn-sally-yates-hearing.html What is Trump's plausible deniability here? Trump was warned about Flynn by Obama (then still POTUS) within 48hrs of election day. Then by his own Justice Dept weeks into his administration. National Security Adviser is not a throw away ceremonious position. They have the highest levels of intelligence access. Trump ignoring warnings from the absolute highest possible levels and putting Flynn in his cabinet anyway speaks volumes. Either Trump is too careless to be trusted with the nations security or was okay with Flynn's actions because they were on his behalf. "after accepting Mr. Flynn’s resignation, the president repeatedly said he thought Mr. Flynn was “a very good person” who had been treated poorly. The day after Mr. Flynn resigned, Mr. Trump told the F.B.I. director at the time, James B. Comey, “I hope you can see your way clear to letting this go, to letting Flynn go,” according to a memo Mr. Comey wrote describing that meeting. In a news conference on Feb. 15, two days after Mr. Flynn’s resignation, the president blamed the media. “General Flynn is a wonderful man. I think he has been treated very, very unfairly by the media, as I call it, the fake media in many cases,” Mr. Trump said. “And I think it is really a sad thing that he was treated so badly.”" https://www.nytimes.com/2017/12/01/us/politics/michael-flynn-guilty-russia-investigation.html

Continuous military build up is the only reason Kim is still in power. If Kim's grandfather and father has yielded to pressure from the West to not pursue increasing amounts of military power they would have been dispatched with decades ago. That is the paradox. Kim is actually behaving in the only way he can; self preservation. It is the result of foriegn policy from the weather which only responds to power.

It has bearing in that it's the reason this thread exists and not the groping. As for Franken not being who we thought he was; he came up as a comedian. Franken was on SNL and was tied in with the entertainment industry. What surprises me is that the accusations aren't more elaborate detailing cocaine use, wild nights is hotel suits, and etc. I personally never thought Franken was a saint. When he initially started his Political career I found it odd in the same way Jesse Ventura becoming a governor was odd. Over time Frank did seem to be competent but that doesn't change his past.

Huh?

The overwhelming majority of Southern States have been voting Republican ever since Wallace. Pretend otherwise isnt worth debate.
-
I don't believe this to be true. I don't recall Obama, Pelosi, Schumer, Clinton, or etc tweet blasting George Bush at 3'O clock in the morning. Don't recall President Obama calling FoxNews fake news. Actually Obama did several Bill O'Reilly interviews despite the blunt hostility he received. I understand that it is way more diplomatic to go with bothsides do this or bothsides do that but it isn't always accurate.

I take that as an acknowledgement that today's Nazi's and White Nationalist are Republicans regardless of what happened 150yrs ago. Democrats have won the popular vote in the 6 of the last 7 National Elections. I am not sure what you mean regarding "missing their votes". If white nationalists and Nazi's did start voting Democrat I assume the GOP would actual be able to get respectable numbers from minority groups.

Mercedes, Volkswagen, etc built vehicles which assisted in killing hundreds of thousands of Jewish people, U.S. Citizens, Brits, and etc. Should the U.S., England, and Israel ban those companies?
-
You are inviting a deflection, false equivalent, or total repositioning.
-
Today which party do the majority of Nazi's and White Nationalist vote for?

Instead we implement sanctions which are demonstrable more negatively impactful on the average citizens than the leaders we seek to remove. From Iran and Syria to North Korea we have purposefully handicapped economies and stifled the growth ability of populations attempting to bend them to our demands. It has rarely worked if ever at all meanwhile the people suffer and the leaders stay.

He clearly states that he let down his state, colleagues, and those who expected him to be a champion for women's rights. If he were denying that he did anything wrong then how exactly did he let them down? We can sit here all night going back and forth parsing his words from each individual one of his now numerous apologizes and he has made the media rounds but to what end; he has apologized and pretending he hasn't is nonsense.
-
Why aren't you being serious minds can change that is a well illustrated fact. I much rather try to change minds through some combination of purposeful generosity and role model behavior than threats of destruction. Telling people to do as you say or else, even when it works, tends to keep all parties involved angry, displeased, and plotting. Sadly it doesn't seem the U.S govt willing or able to do anything except reflexively antagonize when prodded. I follow politics closely and have no clear understanding of what the U.S. plans to do. I understand what the want but stated goals and the steps to reach those goals are not one in the same.

He acknowledges that he made people feel bad, it is behavior that shouldn't happen again, and that as a result people have lost trust in him. That is a standard apology in my opinion. By default no apology good as they the aftermath of something bad. People would prefer the bad thing never happened at all and apologizes don't change that. Additionally the one apologizing is incriminating themselves which isn't a natural thing for anyone to do.
-
Doesn't this create a bit of a standard where one is better off just doing the wrong thing and denying their accusers further victimizing them?
-
You are not wrong. This is about Franken. It seems everyone has agreed that he should be held accountable for his actions. Currently from Roy Moore to Matt Lauer there are many high profile people embroiled is various scandals related to sex and the mistreatment of women. So it is somewhat difficult to singularly focus on Franken without commenting on the while environment for context. I personally would prefer some references to the other at large events in this thread than for the whole forum to fill up with individual threads treating each individual case as though they exist in a vacuum.

I think, could be wrong, that waitforufo is attempting to imply that claiming Republicans aren't environmental friendly today is fake news because 60yrs ago Nixon was...

My above post is from the first page of this thread! The FACT that Nixon created the EPA has was already acknowledge. I gave you a new rep for pretending otherwise.
