  1. @Hulk, how dare you disrespect beer with your vague color coded descriptions. All beer is delicious. What is your main problem! Any beer can be darker or lighter depending on the type of fermentables used to make it. Most commonly Lagers and Pilsners lighter in color and made with yeast that ferments at cooler temperatures. Here is the states Lagers are made incorporating cheaper grains like rice and corn and are meant to be consumed cold. At room temp the flavors of the cheaper grains are more noticeable. Ales run the spectrum. They can be very light in color as commonly seen in Belgian styled Ales or very dark in color as commonly seen in Porters. The grains, yeasts, and temp used to ferment all varies. Hefeweizen's can run light to brown too but are distinctly cloudy as they are unfiltered. Stouts are nearly all ways very dark. They are made from grains which have been roasted to create flavor notes of things like nuts, chocolate, coffee, and etc. My guess is you have been drinking lagers. Moving from a lager to an Ale will take some adjustment as the alcohol percentages, hops, and use of flavored malts, all tend to be greater . A common (for your local area) Pale Ale is probably a good place to start as they tend to drink like slightly heavier lagers with a hit of seasonal fruit. If you simply want something to try with a dark color any Bock should do the job. I prefer Dopplebocks. I would recommend against Stouts for awhile as they are very heavy. Drinking stout can be like eating a meal.
  2. Hopefully the emergency alert system Law is updated to reflect the expanding potential uses.
  3. Plus we already have an Alert system. I had received flooding and child abduction alerts directly on my phone before. FEMA, DHS, FBI, NOAA, and etc are the agencies which brief the President regarding natural disasters and what not. So getting an alert directly from the President doesn't cut out the middle man in anyway. If anything it creates more bureaucracy as advisors working for the various agencies with now possibly waste time calculating from whom an alert should come.
  4. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will run a test next week for a Presidential Alert which gives POTUS the ability to directly send messages to nearly all cell phones nationally via the Emergency Alert System. Under current law the wireless emergency alert system can only be used for natural disasters, acts of terrorism, or other man-made disasters or threats to public safety. Is this a good idea? Should the President have the ability to send emergency alerts out directly? I personally do not see the use. This is what we have emergency response agencies for. I do not understand how a Presidential Alert is an improvement. I also am concerned about the potential politicizing of it. Theoretically if the President had any reason to suspect a mass shooting or other type of terror attack on an election day they could send an alert out which would potentially frighten people into staying home and not voting.
  5. Here is a couple of the more questions I wonder about without going too indepth: - At the end of season 2 in the last scene where we see Dolores (Evan Rachael Wood) in who is with her? - Is Dolores actually awake or still following her program? - Is the park on an island or somewhere else?
  6. In what universe do you live in that you think anyone is rooting for devastation? So far the death toll is at 5, which is a tragedy for those families, hopefully there will not be anymore. I hope everyone in the Carolinas are safe and the storm passes as uneventfully as possible.
  7. Winning trumps everything else. Integrity is nice, transparency is nice, respect is nice, and etc but winning is absolutely awesome. Trump (the phenomenon of anger ultras) has satiated conservatives thirst for winning. Integrity hardly seems like a good reason to stop winning. No matter what happens at this point Trump has saved the Supreme Court from the clutches of Democrats and handed the rich massive tax cuts. Trump can be impeached tomorrow and if you're a conservative it will all have been worth it. Can't make an omelet without breaking eggs. 2 life time scotus picks and tax cuts that basically ensure Bush's tax cuts stay in place for the rest the current generation life are massive wins that make everything worth it.
  8. Russian Intelligence Officers have already been indicted by Mueller. The crimes against the DNC and the attacks on voting infrastructure in swings states already links to Russian high command (military intelligence). As a candidate Trump was briefed by U.S. intelligence in real time as it was happening. In response members of his team knowingly extended their hands to Russia: Trump tower meeting, Roger Stone correspondence with wiki leaks, Kushner & Flynn setting up back channel communications, and etc. All in real time while Trump himself ran cover for Russia by publicly insinuating China was responsible. The links are already there. I think the real question is what type of link is required to change enough peoples attitude. Sort of the like a law of diffusion of innovation but for acceptance of truths one is bias against.
  9. You realizes that "mythicists" is a name Bart Ehrman invented specifically for the academics which disagree with him right? You are posting broadly about what historians do and don't believe yet your whole argument is actually centered around the work of a lone individual. You say academics have not criticized Bart Ehrman, just mythicists, yet Richard Carrier has a doctorate in ancient history and specializes in antiquity.
  10. Fear is not the problem, cowardice is. I have been afraid at night while walking down the street alone and seeing a shifty looking guy coming in the opposite direction. It is natural and in of itself there is nothing wrong with that fear provided a manage it without selfishly creating negative consequences for others. If in response to that fear I felt while walking I shot and killed the guy, petitioned the pass a law prohibiting people that look like the guy from having the right to walk, or etc than that would be a problem. I would be letting my fear negatively impact others. In my opinion that is cowardice.
  11. Beautiful thing about human consciousness whether one honestly believes themselves to be a clear thinker they can still portray themselves as one. People knowing lie all the time to influence their environment. Of course most racist people claim they aren't racist. Listening to what is said vs what is observable in society at large is foolish in my opinion.
  12. Eise has already dismissed scholars like Robert Price and Richard Carrier who do not contend Jesus must have been real as being angry. Eise's position is exaggerated in my opinion. There is obvious debate among scholars over these issues.
  13. The more guesses one makes the least likely it is that all the guesses being made will be true. That is simply how odds work. In the case of the historicity of Jesus too many guesses are stack on top of other guesses. I do not care how educated one is on a subject every guess will not be correct. I have a 50/50 chance of predicting a single coin flip but only a 25% chance of predict 2 coin flips and the odds drop by half with each additional flip. The odds of start with a guess, makes other guess based on that initial guess, and ending with the correct outcome are low. If our car is parked in our spot at home I can guess my wife is home. Then based on the time of day and with my understand of my wife's routines and I guess what she is doing in our home. Based on what I guess she is doing I can also make a guess about how she might be dressed. And with that information With all that info I can concluded whether or not she'd want to go out to eat or just stay in. All of my guesses would be very high quality. I have lived with my wife for 15yrs. I am an expert at her habits and schedule. That said all my guess rely on each other to be correct. My guess about what my wife is doing in our home can only be true if she is in fact home.
  14. Star Wars has had an effect. It revolutionized the ways toy and products are used to both market and profit from a movie. Made billions of dollars and has a large devoted fandom. However Luke Sky Walker, Tatoonie, the Death Star, and etc are all 100% made up. Humans impact the human world based on ideas and not necessarily real things. The idea of God has had an effect the same way hatred, greed, spite, racism, and etc have led to murders and war and effected countless lives. They are merely emotions/ideas. They are things an individual feels within themselves and not a tangible things which exists in a shared human reality. For example Sexism and Racism has long histories. Archaeologists can just about always find evidence of sexism and racism in ancient societies. That isn't evidence of women and different ethnicities naturally being inferior. The fact humans have been sexist and racist for a long time doesn't affirm such feelings as true. Replace the word "God" with the King, Chief, President, CEO or etc and it nearly reads the same. Humans have indeed always sought direction and leadership. God is but one form of that but many have existed simultaneously.A sports team has a coach, team captains, veterans, and so on. Humans are constantly creating hierarchies. Which came first God or Chief? When one human population interacts with another do they say "take to your god" or "take me to your leader"? In nature other mammals create hierarchies. Wolf Packs, Lion Prides, and etc all have a pecking order. In my opinion it only makes sense that in humans the hierarchies would be more elaborate. Can you imagine the sort of fantastical ideas of god and the supernatural that would exist among Lions if Male Lions had the ability to brag about themselves. "I am God" is the next logical egocentric step after "I am the best". Not Religion, humans. Even within a religion individual all understand faith and god uniquely. All Christians don't have the same Jesus. It is Humans who spread the God concept. Religion is just a franchise sports team. It is players that play the game and games get play all over whether specific franchise thrive or not.
  15. Right, are good well educated guess is still just a guess. Why one would or wouldn't do something seems like a superfluous question to me. Things with extremely low likelihoods of happening happen everyday. It is hard to know what one was thinking and unknown authorship of the Gospels only complicates matters. Who says something matters to the context of what's being said. Without knowing who wrote the Gospels one builds their narrative about the Gospels on assumptions.
  16. It's coming. At school you are about the learn many things both socially and academically. Through the service you will be pushed. Now is a good time list the things you want in life and why. What you want is a Year, 4yrs, and 10yrs. The WHY part is most important. Your list should not include things you think you are supposed to want. The list should be personal and only reflect things you want on an emotional level.
  17. No, don't merely wait. You don't want to live as a passive passenger in your own life. You have to make it so. That means going to school and performing well, completing your service distinguished, and speaking to that hustle in your music. Life is interactive.
  18. When your environment and daily routine changes the way you feel daily will most likely follow. School, Service, and etc will pose challenges and stresses you have yet to experience and those experience should impact your out look. It is a natural process. You just need to give it time.
  19. Who wrote Mark? Why would someone not famous to be written about at their birth, during the whole of their life, or at their death be famous enough to written about 40yrs later? An oral history that is fuzy on dates and doesn't include the location of his burial. I have a fuzy memory but one of the few things I recall well about people I care about are the dates of the life and where their graves are. It is understandable to complain about being linked a multi hour long video. Shame on Itoero. However in saying Itoero themselves probably didn't not watch it you are again painting others as not have the facts. The implication being you view is superior. That attitude overrates who you know and is ugly. Historian's do not proclaim Jesus absolutely was a real person. Most scholars conclude he was most likely a real person. No serious scholar claims to know with the certainty you are attempting to insist upon.
  20. Yeah, beecee sure can't fathom being wrong. They even started a thread to complain about being told to follow the rule on this site, led in OP with calling this place "ridiculous", and have proceeded to argue with every participant in the thread without exception. F'n Beecee, smh. If only they could see themselves.
  21. Absolutely. Kim Juog-un was raised in a family of dictators (grandpa and pa) who were under constant international pressure while maintaining total internal control of a nation of tens of millions of people. Plus because North Korea attracted so much attention from the U.S. specifically all our adversaries, like Putin, have provided Kim Jong-un with mentorship and various levels on tactical support. This is the sort of scenario Kim Jong-un has prepped and been prepped for his whole life.
  22. You may have tried many techniques thus far however removing yourself from your environment is the biggest one with, in my opinion, the best chance of succeeding. So some more patience will be needed. *I sent you a PM because I am very familiar with the difference branches of service and their associated benefits. I was going to go over some with you. I was also curious about what specialty you were pursuing.
  23. It is not the responsibility of the Moderators to read rules to you which you already agree to when creating your account. I recommend you review the Guidelines. You will find the your answer there.
  24. Assuming Gen. Mattis is correct and Trump has the understanding of a 5th grader this move by Kim Jung-un should still makes sense to Trump. The only reason Trump met with Kim Jung-un and gave him a seat at the table is because Kim Jung-un has Nukes. The value of those Nukes to Kim Jung-un is self evident. Separately I think Kim Jung-un has Trump by the balls now. Trump has already taken his victory lap on North Korea. Cashed in those chips. The relationship between Trump and Kim Jung-un souring now would only lend credence to reports of Trump's incompetence. So Kim Jung-un has some room to breathe knowing that Trump needs to keep a positive public appearance going. Especially in an election year.
  25. Than he needs needs a better Hustle than just kids, mini van, and wifey. Each kid needs a Pit Bull puppy with a chain leash, the mini van needs to be hot boxed out, and wifey needs to be double fisting bottle service. And unless iNow is Will Smith he needs to curse on his records.
