I'm feeling a bit paranoid here. I was trying to boil some water on my stove, and used a nonstick pot, that is to say a pot with teflon or polymer. I forgot about the whole thing, and 45 minutes later I came back. The windows of the house were steamy, and about half the water was gone. I had been heating it on max temperature. Afterwards I've felt a bit groggy, with a mild cough and a tightness to my throat. Is it possible these are the sympthoms of polymer flu fever, which happens if you heat teflon above a certain temperature? The teflon layer was not decomposed in any way, and was always in touch with water. But is it possible it could have been heated to dangerous levels, between 300-400 degrees celsius, nontheless?
