  1. harshgoel, I really like your sentence: "Everyday is the 'day of judgment'"
  2. Why believing in "AFTER LIFE" is wiser than not believing. Through the history they've come thousands of prophets, all of them being famous for being honest and truthful including Noah, Abraham, Moses, Joshua, Jesus Christus and Mohammad. And all of them have warned us on "Afterlife". So, is it wiser to believe in afterlife or not? 1. Not to believe If we die and nothing happens, then it's neutral. We neither win nor lose so 0 If we die and see there's an afterlife, then we lose (-1) because we haven't prepared ourselves for it. So the addition on this condition is 0+(-1)=-1 2. To belive If we die and nothing happens, then it's neutral. We neither lose nor win so 0. If we die and find an afterlife, then we win(+1) because we have prepared ourselves for it. So the addition on this condition is 0+1=1 Therefore, considering all of the probable conditions, we witness that believing in Afterlife is wiser than not believing.
  3. I'm desperately happy today!

  4. I've heard they speak German in Switzerland, don't they?
  5. Da! Citation needed?! The last time I asked for citations here, I was told to go nuts! Anyway, I dunno if there are some researches out in the net on the matter but I even won't trouble myself to surf the net to find something on the material 'cause it's my personal experience. My eyes were ten ten, then I started to read Thomas Hardy excessively on my phone. I finished some 13 volumes, reading day and night. The next time I visited optometrist he said my eyes were eight eight. So it's how I owe my glasses to Thomas Hardy!
  6. We wrote in a case he/she wanted to check his post sometimes in the future.
  7. Exactly the same here. Too much reading electronic versions is too bad for eyesight.
  8. The Quran! Tess of the d'Urbervilles by Thomas Hardy. The Return of the Native by Thomas Hardy Far from the Madding Crowd by Thomas Hardy Misery by Stephen King Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte
  9. Why not check Project Gutenberg Website? Free books of numerous formats. from TXT and HTML to EPub and Kindle for each of the books! http://www.gutenberg.org
  10. Hitchhiker's Guide to Galaxies I recommend Andrew Liddle too. He has another book in advanced cosmology. Also you can search for Unseen Cosmos.
  11. I suggest Thomas' Calculus.
  12. Do you mean the one by "Aleister Crowley"?
  13. AN EASY CHECKMATE: ME: Do you know me? BOT: I've heard of you... ME: Really?! Where? BOT: He said he won't give you up again. ---------------------------------- This one is even more interesting: ME: Do you believe in Allah? BOT: Only in clever ghosts. ME: Then you're a clever ass! BOT: That's right. ---------------------------------- ME: I ate some Francis Bacon today. BOT: I knew it. ----------------------------------- This one is even funnier: ME: You're pure shit. BOT: I Know I am. (God may forgive us, how we're fooling a Bot, shame on us) You could check iGod, too.
  14. I don't get, are we discussing how the biochemical life evolved or how the consciousness appeared. If it's the second then the topic question is really bemusing.
  15. I believe there must be "correct" answers based on the fact that they're obviously correct. Like imatfaal's. Otherwise all of us are capable of making some made-up answers and start philosophizing to make others believe they're the answers.
  16. Well, I could get angry it I were the lecturer. But, it's not that serious a problem. I used to help my friend when the teacher was teaching in school, especially on Math. Perhaps the fellow was tired.
  17. Mr. Yahya, We didn't claim they're synonyms. You've just skipped my very last sentence. "It seems when we conclude something is good, we want to stabilize it's state by making it holy."
  18. Did anyone work out Q2? It's really a wonder to me. PS: Great job imat, agreed!
  19. Da, and I thought it was dinner time.
  20. When we first discovered "fire", we used it in order to frighten other animals and dominate on them and perhaps was our Golden Key to survive in Darkness. So, we took fire to be good and holy as some Zoroastrians still believe. Greek mythology describes there was a certain guy named "Prometheus" who stole fire from gods and gifted it to humans. And then gods were very furious at him. But light has grown other meanings as well, such as eternal salvation, or the Kingdom of Heaven.(Mary and Jesus have some light around their face, saints too.) Islam claims Allah is "the light of the heavens and the Earth." 24:35. It seems when we conclude something is good, we want to stabilize it's state by making it holy.
  21. But we've cut down trees and burnt out forests. I appreciate the way we've come through, but I think Human hasn't made the earth a nicer place. He has made the Earth a nicer place for himself.
  22. Read my former post carefully, man, It's a "MORAL ARGUMENT".
  23. One could also make a "moral argument" on the Bible. Regarding all those "erotic" verses in OT's latter books, the story of Lot is the oddball of the Bible, where he sleeps with his own daughters. (Genesis 19:30-38) Is it not a mistake when Bible attributes Incest to a prophet? A thing that many people would be ashamed of.
  24. I'm thinking on "the Hidden Secret of the Universe"!

    1. Ten oz

      Ten oz

  25. I think I got what you mean, In the holy Quran you read verses such as: " Chapter 5 Lo! We did reveal the Torah, wherein is guidance and a light, by which the prophets who surrendered (unto Allah) judged the Jews, and the rabbis and the priests (judged) by such of Allah's Scripture as they were bidden to observe, and thereunto were they witnesses. So fear not mankind, but fear Me. And My revelations for a little gain. Whoso judgeth not by that which Allah hath revealed: such are disbelievers. (44) "And We caused Jesus, son of Mary, to follow in their footsteps, confirming that which was (revealed) before him in the Torah, and We bestowed on him the Gospel wherein is guidance and a light, confirming that which was (revealed) before it in the Torah - a guidance and an admonition unto those who ward off (evil). (46)" And so, when you face the actual Bible (For example KJV), you see it doesn't suit the description mentioned in Quran. It causes you to make topics like this, Am I not right?
