  1. Thanks Janus. So presumably just minor adjustments to orbits?
  2. I think the energy budget would be considerably higher.. ("we" does include me right? RIGHT?)
  3. Okay...(my survival instincts/cowardice kicking in)...how about we leave Pluto (et al) to fend for itself, set up to "hover" in the habitable zone behind the Sun, then reset orbit when the worst is over? Wouldn't that be easier?
  4. It's going to be cold on Pluto...for a while At least I get my Spartacus moment... ...er...million years
  5. How much acceleration can our solar system handle? If it means losing Pluto...I'm out...Pluto's already been humiliated enough #SavePlutoToo
  6. How to Get Shunned from the Tribe 101...
  7. This being a relativity thread, it could, and generally would, be greater than that.
  8. Valid argument, though people often fail to do better. It is just a matter of time until supervised AI does consistently better, on average statistically, than humans...and a matter of further time until they do better again unimpeded by real time human supervision.
  9. Merry Christmas everyone.
  10. Agree...but now I am twice as impressed with Trump as I had been...
  11. Pretty sure he meant movie star
  12. LOL Sorry. I don't know where I got the idea...but I thought you were 160 or so... I blame my hundred years of elementary school education spent in Ontario schools... Finally graduated "highest" in my class...
  13. New higher threshold requirements to make the January debate 4 DNC approved national polls at 5% or more, or 2 approved early state polls, and 225K individual donors. Biden, Warren, Sanders, Buttigieg, and Klobuchar have already qualified. https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/five-democrats-have-qualified-for-the-january-debate-who-else-might-make-it/
  14. No doubt some dementia setting in...I can't remember whether I voted for John A. MacDonald, and his Liberal-Conservative Party, or against them...
  15. I lived in Niagara Falls from Fall 1868 until Early 1971, before moving back to New Brunswick. So Summer 1970 I was just coming out of grade 6 at Diamond Jubilee (on Dorchester near Lundy's Lane) and heading into grade 7 at Princess Margaret. I also was lived in Niagara-on-the-Lake for a bit in 66/67 and did grade 3 in Parliament Oak . I've only been back to that area a couple of times when doing some work for the Shipyard (Port Weller). I knew we were around the same age. So to pretend that's all on topic...that's where we learned we didn't fit comfortably at any one point on the political spectrum...
  16. Interesting debate. It seemed fairly congenial the first hour, but some heavier exchanges after that, especially between Buttigieg and Warren, though Buttigieg seemed to be attacked the most overall. Warren might have had the best line of the night. When questioned with regard to potentially being the oldest President at inauguration ever she pointed out she would be the youngest female president ever. I thought Klobuchar did well last time. She did even better this time.
  17. First time I ever shot a (real) gun was at a scout camp shooting range in Virginia, Camp Rock Enon, in 1970. Very memorable trip with the First Niagara Scout Troop. (Canada)
  18. It was supposed to be just for the war effort...government, of course became "attached" to it, and never repealed it regardless of what Party was in power.
  19. All fun and gamesmanship until some become open to voting aye...
  20. I saw that up on the screen (actually 1, I never saw 2), then it disappeared. I assumed it was just an error that was corrected. How does that work? What would be the motive for the Republican to vote no then change? Surely not a change of heart after voting... Beat down after voting yea? Didn't understand the question, LOL?
  21. Now, that probably cost him a fist full of dollars...
  22. C'mon MigL You own a Smith & Wesson Model 29, chambered in .44 Magnum Don't deny it!

    About me

Looks like it doesn't want to "budge"...
  24. Now I'm gonna take a guess that MigL believes in the right to bare arms...it get's pretty hot (and humid) in St. Catherines in the summer!
