I tried to find cases of medical devices being hacked, and was surprised to find none, where most sites just state the vulnerability of it being hijacked. However, after a brief thought, I did however decided to check the death rate from pacemaker malfunctioning and their causes. Here are some sites. http://content.onlinejacc.org/article.aspx?articleid=1130173 http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/3229430 http://www.uptodate.com/contents/pacing-system-malfunction-evaluation-and-management A person could fire an EMP gun or a similar device and shut down a pacemaker. It's possible anyone that has done so got away (from arrest). And if anyone did commit the crime, I wouldn't expect them to surrender and be caught easily. One thing to think about is, how will the police catch the villain if they don't suspect a murder case in the first place (i.e pacemaker malfunction suspect)? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electromagnetic_pulse (emp)

Why do you need an arterio venous fistula to do haemodialysis?
Tzurain replied to scilearner's topic in Medical Science
10 Months Later... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This reply is pretty late, but I'll try to answer it now, since it's best to do it now then never. An AV fistula is a connection, made by a vascular surgeon, of an artery to a vein. The purpose is to cause extra pressure and extra blood to flow into the vein, making it grow large and strong. The larger vein provides easy, reliable access to blood vessels. Without this kind of access, regular hemodialysis sessions would extremely hard to conduct. Untreated veins (usually) cannot withstand repeated needle insertions. They would collapse the way a straw collapses under strong suction. I hope I helped ^^ A dialysis is like a filter, it removes waste from the blood, and puts the 'clean' blood back into the body. If we don't pump the blood back, then the person would die of lack of blood. I guess. :| -
1. To believe in God is the choice of what the person wants to believe, thus, it is reasonable for the person to choose whether to believe in god or not. 2. Yes, and plus. 3. Exists. 4. Day of judgement, but it could come back up after another round. But here's the thing, Scientific research have yet to prove that all the stated above exists in a concrete manner. Thus, any replies will most likely be faith related.

No. It counts as genetic engineering for mind controlling others.

Would industrializing Africa be beneficial to global economy?
Tzurain replied to too-open-minded's topic in Other Sciences
They can still live a happy life in an agricultural community. We just need to give them better education in my opinion, and better homes. As well as that, less exploitation on their resources. They can get enough food from their farming , and other resources can be traded over if needed. However, the current problem is that they don't get to eat the food that they sweat to earn. After a 100 bag of rice they produce, they'll get only one bag for themselves (Estimation/Exaggeration). But after all, from the economical and exploitative standpoint, it's not our problem, so why should we take responsibility into the problem of others? -
BBC: http://www.bbc.com/news/technology-17623948 - States the vunelrability of pacemakers to hijack etc http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2383908/Was-nerd-killed-discovering-murder-pacemaker.html In my opinion, I think it'll be quite hard to catch someone who hijacks into medical devices, unless there are witnesses etc, because they could do it from a distance, and discreetly. It's not a traceable thing.

When I was a kid, I felt like I had this power too. Like I could make it rain, if I tried hard enough, or making the wind in either direction at will. Don't have any facts to back up this statement, so I won't continue. However, there are some kinds of way people can sense what kind of weather will come up. Here are some examples: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weather_pains E.g: Body feels pain when it's going to rain http://articles.sun-sentinel.com/2013-03-24/news/fl-rain-in-bones-20130324_1_bones-weather-spotter-barometric-pressure

The hacking threat is very real, my acquaintance. As someone who knows programming, and have managed some servers before, I believe I am allowed to say that it is not difficult to hack/bypass an online security system. There was once a time, when I was more immature than of myself now, I hacked into a Pokemon website and became a self made Admin. Hacking is usually not to computing prowess, but rather by being deceiving and smooth trickery. On a random note, I became more responsible, mature, and put my skills to better uses. But the conclusion is, hacking happens. And from my personal experience, usually for personal amusement.

Homemade electrical systems can be quite easily made with very small amounts of metal. Detonators do not necessarily need metal components, and the amount of wire can be kept to a minimum. As well as that, such small amounts are unlikely to be picked up by standard airline security metal detectors. When required, an electric battery to set off the device can be taken from some other innocent electrical device like a phone. Also Solution I propose: Dogs. - They can sniff out chemicals . It's also affordable. Also chemical detectors. But I don't think there's any need to scare civilians with heavier security though like more dangerous weapons. Prevent the troublemakers from entering in the first place.

There is sound in "outer space" because "outer space" is not a full vacuum. A full vacuum, however, will prevent any sound from passing through. Conclusion: There is Sound in "Outer Space" because it is not a full vacuum. The end.

What Disney did was NOT plagiarism, Lmao. Plagiarism is the exact copying of ones work, not the sharing or doing something similar to ones idea/work. If I wrote a book about a user here, or made a movie about their life, that would not be plagiarism now, would it? x3

And nothing else can prove or disprove or Jesus was a real person. As I said, it's up to the individual.

Time is a relative, it's different for every person. (Time is) The indefinite continued progress of existence and events in the past, present, and future regarded as a whole. - Dictionary Having fun for 1 hour may feel like a minute, and having to hold onto a burning red coin for a second may feel like like an hour. We have tried to measure time, and we have succeeded. The clock measures a second at a seemingly constant rate. But a second to each person is different to another. I personally think the concept of time is something we can never grasp fully. It's nice to know you have tried to contribute, but there are many flaws in the sentence you have given. What if you don't move at all? Does this mean Time has stopped? If a person stands still in a cave, does the space he has moved (none) mean that no time has passed?

Pull back from the war if possible, and when the war is ending, choose the winning side. -
In my opinion, I think Jesus was an existing man. He has not only been referred to by the bible, but from other religious books too, from the Quran (Islam) and the Torah (Jewish). The proof is of what we see, and what we CAN see is the scroll, texts and words that were brought down by the people from the past to our current generation. This is the only proof we have of Jesus for the current moment. It is up to the individual to choose whether to believe in his existence or not.

I think I understand your question now. If you meant the resonance frequency for the human ear. It's around 900Hz It changes from person to person though.

Would industrializing Africa be beneficial to global economy?
Tzurain replied to too-open-minded's topic in Other Sciences
Think about the global warming~ The pollution~ Our current technology aren't capable of maintaining or withstanding the 'bad' effects of industrializing Africa. Stick to Agriculture, in my opinion. Industrializing Africa may do more harm than good. -
Would industrializing Africa be beneficial to global economy?
Tzurain replied to too-open-minded's topic in Other Sciences
Yes, it would be beneficial to the economic growth of the world. But think about this.. The forests of deep Africa harbor more than a million species of flora and fauna, will the destruction of these thing be worth the trade? What do we do with the community that are already happy with their lifestyle? What if people don't want to give their land? During 2008, Dubai had a financial crisis for being low on oil, what if Africa run out of resources? -
Cloaking device uses ordinary lenses to hide objects.

Seems interesting. They could make a giant lens , and make everything on the other side invisible! (For both Entertainment and Military purposes) -
I did not claim to believe in Chi. I am just looking into a speculation from an optimistic standpoint. But I suppose you are somewhat right, I will have to look into the subject further.
