Find the original dimension of the rectangle.
Robittybob1 replied to Chikis's topic in Homework Help
OK so what is the situation in the problem you are wanting to solve? -
Why would they go to the core in particular? Have you got proof those rays can penetrate that far?
-
When you say "the core is electrons" what do you mean by that?

Where exactly to find M. Luteus?
Robittybob1 replied to assanater601's topic in Microbiology and Immunology
So you have to find it first, and isolate it. How are you going to do that, has it got some distinctive features on a culture plate? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Micrococcus_luteus So it can be found on your skin. Shouldn't be hard to find. Don't shower for a few days then swab your skin. -
I did come up with a better explanation, but I'm going to have to locate it on another forum, so I'll edit or repost when I do. Could be in a couple of hours time. In the mean time learn what they do know about the Earth's inner and outer core.

What does the "M." stand for? -
It is all related but you seem to struggle with getting your ideas across. I have done some great work on those very topics, so you might have to start another thread on the Earth's Core.

Ebola outbreak in US...unneccssary scare?
Robittybob1 replied to Elite Engineer's topic in Microbiology and Immunology
I wouldn't want to put my hands in there to find out. I think the virus only survives a short time in the environment. -
I can't relate to what you are saying sorry. Where would this charge come from?

Ebola outbreak in US...unneccssary scare?
Robittybob1 replied to Elite Engineer's topic in Microbiology and Immunology
They have to take the cures to the areas infected otherwise they will all want to migrate to the places where there are decent medical facilities. The essential thing still being missed is the resource of the recovered patients. Once you have recovered you are immune. No one has caught it twice. So use them as much as practical in the treatment centers. -
It has nothing to do with being tidally locked. The Moon does not only bulge the sea etc but also the land and it is the land bulge that is most significant in the exchange of momentum. The whole thing is hard to understand but get a weight and tie a string to it and make it circulate around you and discover what you have to do to make it spin faster. You'll find you have to pull it ahead of the center. And that is what is happening to the Moon.
-
The only way that can happen is when the Moon was a lot closer. They reckon after it formed it was something like 50,000 km, rather than the 350,000 it is now. So the 7 times as close and gravitational force is proportional to 1/r^2 so it was 2^7 times as strong then. That is 128 times as strong.
-
Gravity - if the gravitational force is ahead of the object, gravity will make it speed up, but in the Moon's case the Earth gives it more orbital energy (it is actually slowed in tangential velocity but since it orbits at a larger radius in fact there is more Gravitational potential energy in the system). It took me a while to understand how it all fits together.

During the time I was doing my research on the topic, I never found any historian that seemed to finally crack the solution to the Jesus story, the census, the Star of Bethlehem, the birth date, the year of crucifixion, extra. So I was determined to solve it, and the maths had to be correct. Now the reason I wanted to find the solution is what throws most people. Let's say I had a weird dream where it seemed some "factual information" was part of it. The subconscious had come up with the following, "Mary the mother of Jesus had twins. Jesus the firstborn and John (St.John) the other whom they abandoned (adopted)." So where it says in the Gospel of John (John 19; 26-27), where Jesus is handing the care of Mary over to John, it is because he "was" the biological son of Mary, in "fact" the twin brother of Jesus. So that seemed to give me a whole new set of criteria to solve the dating issue. If I could find out how old John was I'd know about Jesus. Now there was a bit more information in the Christian writings about John for he lived a long time (for the Christians were wondering if he would ever die). I found a reference which said he lived till he was about 120, and another where he live till the reign of Trajan, nothing exact but that definitely put his birthdate back a long way into the BC period, but could the nativity stories still be historically accurate?) In the Gospel of John it says: Jesus answered, "If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you? You must follow me." Because of this, the rumor spread among the believers that this disciple would not die. But Jesus did not say that he would not die; he only said, "If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you?" So the author of John is recording part of a conversation he had with Jesus, and its interpretation, for 120 years of age in those days was an exceptional ripe old age.

I was finding that when one thinks of a period "slowing" a little confusing and I'd rather say lengthens or shortens. Do you see my point?

Find the original dimension of the rectangle.
Robittybob1 replied to Chikis's topic in Homework Help
OK but where do you go from there? I couldn't see the point of going "(A - 30) = ??" I thought you should write the dimensions of the bits cut off the main area. 2w and 2(L-2) and they must add up to 30. -
Find the original dimension of the rectangle.
Robittybob1 replied to Chikis's topic in Homework Help
The only reason you can "simply use 2W, whereever you have written L" because L = 2W. -
Find the original dimension of the rectangle.
Robittybob1 replied to Chikis's topic in Homework Help
If a rectangle is twice as long as it is wide? An example of this rectangle would be one that was 8 long and 4 wide so the first equation should be L = 2W (8 = 2*4), not what you've written 2L=W (2*8 <> 4). You have to get that bit right to begin with. -
Because there is a 32% chance of being selected in each year.
-
Why would you reject 31 AD? I like the Thursday crucifixion as it gives a more mathematically correct three days and three nights in the tomb.

That is in accordance with the entry in Wikipedia under Tidal acceleration:

Thanks - I have saved that as a favorite and will refer to it regularly.

Could someone who has mastered quoting properly give all of us a tutorial on how it is done please?
