  1. I did follow your topic and notice you have a model but really have no idea what is compressed. Lately I have been toying with the idea that gravity and time dilation are linked and hence can you think of the compression being time compressed. Gravitational Time dilation is in direct proportion to gravitational strength, which is proportional to mass. So can we think that mass moves into a region of time dilation, and that continual, intensifying movement is the acceleration due to gravity?
  2. I have yet to see a worm win that one. I was working with my compost and there were masses of worms present so I went and fetched two hens, for they seem to love worms, but initially they were having trouble recognizing the worms from the background. I noticed the worms stayed still and the hens couldn't see them. Later the hens latched on and were having a feast.
  3. That is very interesting. Has this been shown in genetic tests?
  4. With all these high tech cameras focused on the worms I'm anticipating seeing "two ounce" stones being moved by the worms as well as pine needles. You know I might get my wish! http://www.greeneducationfoundation.org/greenthumbchallengesub/gardening-resources/composting/402-worms.html
  5. He reminded me of the optimism I had once. So no of course not.
  6. Is this the most important question in the end.
  7. Without a doubt in farmed animals where there is limited number of males (rams mate over 100 ewes and bulls are mated across hundred of thousands of cows with the artificial insemination programs). This limits genetic variation and is what is sought after by the farmers , with the best genetics being bred year after year.
  8. It reminded me of the optimism I had once. If the whole Universe can be made from nothing is there any limit?
  9. I have heard about this experiment before, so I do understand what you are saying. The inner decision making process maybe subconscious and that gets passed to our consciousness for confirmation. I think those that aren't schizophrenic are capable of overriding our subconscious decisions.
  10. If you are talking some possible discovery in the future. I really don't know if what you think possible could happen. I could be pessimistic and say I doubt if humans would be able to achieve this. You seem to have strong religious views and this as well. What sort of philosophy is that?
  11. Good point. I don't believe the Noah story but before I was only arguing that it was written. In the end the Sun will consume the Earth and all life on it will be extinguished. Are you going to argue that the sun should have been smaller so that it lasted longer. There is no way to make the physical setup last forever. There is always going to be an end to life on Earth at some stage like it or not, and no one is to blame.
  12. When the swamp grounds of Southland were ploughed for the first time 50 years ago we would see worms of a similar size but their bodies (up to 600 mm long) had no strength compared to a vigorous red worm. As far as I know they never came out of the soil. The seagulls would have a feast on the days the ploughing was done. I don't know the species name.
  13. You are offended because I don't believe something written by Darwin. That is your problem not mine. I never said it could never happen, but just that I found it hard to believe. That is fair enough. So you can't run around telling me to "stop". It is you that needs to stop and think that it is fair enough when others have an opinion.
  14. What! Are you saying that just because I could not imagine how an earthworm can move a two ounce stone? who was offended? who was insulted? We don't measure in ounces any more, but in the moment it sounded extraordinary. There is nothing illogical about doubting something that is incredulous. "Illogical fallacy" - now that is a bit harsh? In fact I think at worst I expressed an opinion, which I am entitled to.
  15. I answered you fully and well. See the meaning in my post please.
  16. Well what did you think when you read that about the two ounce stone? Do you think it was possible? I tried to open that text and it was just tiny pages about 2 cm wide, so I couldn't read it in the weekend.
  17. If the farts of the pink unicorns cause erections in Leprechauns you might be onto a winner, a competitor to the mighty Viagra Pill. Look into it.
  18. Light (photons) fall as fast as lead balls in a gravitational field. I had always thought of light falling much slower than other objects in the same gravitational field. Because light falls in a G field the light path (in a light clock) is longer and hence time slows down, because it goes further in a longer time therefore velocity stays the same.Velocity = c. The speed doesn't go up but the frequency does (to an outside observer) In the view of the free falling observer I have a feeling the frequency would stay the same. The question is would then the outside observer see the same light in the same phase or different phases of the sine wave?
  19. I don't believe what was said e.g. "a worm moving a two ounce stone". I'll believe that when I see it.
  20. That's how the conversation has gone. I am showing you that the Lord saves as well as destroys.
  21. A tree in my forest fell over and didn't make a sound. This was because it fell so slowly. So yes it can happen.
  22. War was war in those days. It wasn't a matter of guilt.
  23. Our history is just as relevant. We can't just say the Hebrews are guilty, just because their history was recorded and ours not.
  24. I Would imagine there have been all sorts of ransacking and pillaging that has gone on over the millennia. All of our ancestors would be guilty of it.
