  1. To review for an entrance exam, I would get a work book that is related to that exam. If you ask the college about the entrance exam they will tell you what information you will need to brush up on (such as math and english). Khan academy may be a good place to start if working online fits you better. To transfer to another college in a different city should not make much of a difference cost wise. Maybe an out of county fee. All tuition rates should be on their website or you can call. To make sure classes transfer, use an online database (the college can tell you what they use) Artsys is an example. In another state, tuition rates are generally higher but the process is the same. Just inquire about how to find out which courses will transfer so that time is not wasted. Depending on the degree you are interested in, sometimes a lot of prep classes can be taken at a local college and applied to another school. If you do not get much money for schooling, it may just take longer to complete. Community colleges also offer some online programs.
  2. I was accepted into Oregon State for a BS in computer science, and also Penn State to start with a certificate (that leads to a BS degree) in Security and Risk Analysis. I am having trouble deciding between programs as one is more broad and the other is more specialized. Does anyone in the field have any insight to these programs? I am placing value on job opportunities, salary etc.
