  1. I would imagine the grasslands evolved for the large mammals of they ice age. Anyway, yes, I'm sure. Flowers evolved in the Mesozoic to give way to fruits for more energy, for the small mammals and the dinosaurs.
  2. Haha, well I'm sorry to ruin their lives! What a shame.
  3. I've heard of the lake, but not the seahorse. Sounds interesting. I think my favorite cryptid is the Mokele mbembe.
  4. "Fish use many traits to choose shoalmates. Generally they prefer larger shoals, shoalmates of their own species, shoalmates similar in size and appearance to themselves, healthy fish, and kin (when recognised). The "oddity effect" posits that any shoal member that stands out in appearance will be preferentially targeted by predators. This may explain why fish prefer to shoal with individuals that resemble them. The oddity effect would thus tend to homogenise shoals. I think this is very true. I know zebras are know. To do the same thing, do confuse predators such as lions. They tend to be attracted to black and white things. And I think the fish just do what they can survive. You can have a pond with nothing in it, then add a few rocks in a corner, and the fish should flock towards the rocks and stay in that area, in a sense of protection
  5. Ok, that's all very interesting. Thank you iggy
  6. My iPad won't let me see it, but thank you for the explanation.
  7. No, but there would have to be a dramatic change. Maybe a extreme change of weather in some part of the world
  8. That won't happen, as enough Jamaicans marry others, and with it being a popular tourist area, will constantly be exposed to other people. And as their motto states (out of many, one people) lots of different cultures live in the island of jamaica
  9. Ok. Makes sense, since Jamaicans produce top runners, and they usually marry other Jamaicans, which keeps the speed genes in the jamaican country
  10. Ok. That all makes sense. But different races of people are built differently. Caucasians are built for power, throwing and lifting things. East Africans are great at distance running, and west africans/carribeans are built for speed. It's all in their bodies. For example, East Africans tend to be taller, with slender frames, and large lungs. But west Africans are shorter, and naturally have more muscle, and a chemical in their blood that helps with the large burst of power which comes in the form of sprinting? Are we more like dogs? Different breeds, yet we can breed together to make mixes
  11. This is a question asked in my science class today, as we watched a show on evolution. Asian, Caucasian, african, Mexican, Latino? And are mixed races hybrids. Like someone like me, where my mom is jamaican and my dad is Caucasian
  12. Honestly, hard evidence is difficult to find, and only is in good supply if your a cryptozoologist. But I think Natives, and the sheer number of sightings. I beleive that lots of evidence is a hoax, but with so many hoaxes, we are led to believe everything is a hoax
  13. Yes. But in one of your sources, which I read, it did say we've only been after the squatch for some 5o years. The lynx, probably longer than that, with more people after it to. And other animals to infer behavior on. And intelligent, yes, but maybe not as intelligent as a squatch
  14. Hah a, actually, in fact, unicorns did exist then went extinct. But not what your thinking off, with a horse and a horn. Some say it was a species of cattle, and some scientists think it's a creature I believe was called, elasmotherium. But anyway, I honestly just think maybe natives, and the sheer numbers of sightings. But Im distracted, as I'm busy, so as what I can think of, that's it for now.
  15. Well, I know about black bears in the east. They are the only native bear there anyways. I just think it's all because of their elusive nature. The Lynx, is an elusive animals. Yes, I know we have seen them, but they are secretive. In the planet earth documentaries, it even says a man can live his whole life in the artic forests and never see a Lynx, or even a trace of one. We are slowly getting more and more evidence, and better too. Now a question I have is, what about the Sasquatch like relatives in other countries. Such as the orang pendek, which is a smaller version living in Vietnam. People there know the wildlife, and spend their days in the jungle. And in the rural villiges, they probably haven't heard of bigfoot, yeti, etc, so there is nothing to spark the idea for hoaxes And you would be amazed on how many times I've read that wiki page on Mokele Mbembe
  16. Sorry. I'm just not used to citing things. I'll try and do better, but it's one of my many flaws. So thanks for putting up with me. Anyway, I've heard both of those. Yes, eyewitness accounts may not be reliable, but you have to remember that these animals are usually on the run, and attempting to hide, which makes this more difficult then already is. And again, I'll state, that native Americans would know the difference between many animals and say there is a Sasquatch like creature out there.
  17. Well, black bear do account for sightings, almost everyone can agree on that, but not all. Sasquatch is believed to imitate other animals, including black bear, in an attempt to stay concealed. Anyway, I'm sure native Americans could tell the difference between a bear and Sasquatch. Plus, there has been no black bear reported to make the noises made by Sasquatch, run upright for a extended period of time, etc. I honestly don't think black bear could account for everything. And what about sasquatchs sighted outside the western us. Almost every state has had sightings. Ooooo! Moit an man, you have offered a subject I happen to love, since I really like paleontology. First off, does anyone know what the Mokele Mbembe is? I want to make sure everyone knows what the cryptid is. Btw, I can still talk about Sasquatch too. I can double
  18. @Arete: I think you may be looking at something different than me. And it hasn't been the first time we have found strange traces that point to a bigfoot. @Phil for all: elusive and rare I think are fair terms to use. They it pretty much has to be that or else we would probably see a Sasquatch more often. Mountain lion and bear bones are very rarely found, as these animals tend to hide themselves before death. So actually you don't find them often. And they are still more common than Sasquatch by a large margin. Who knows why the government did what they did. I will admit it might not have been them, but I know it was a science organization of some sort at least. Also, how can we account for so many sightings over so many centuries. Native Americans knew about it, from all around the world, and they knew the world much better than we. And there are many different sightings of Sasquatch in different forms. The most common is a tall figure with dark fur, but some have been said with different colors of fur, sizes, male and female, groups, young and old, and different places of the world. The orang pendek, yeti (three claimed species), alma, Chinese wild men, etc are other creatures that are supposed relatives.
  19. Well, first of all, you have to remember it's a shy, elusive, and rare creature. So you'll rarely see it anyway. Also, they are top predators, like mountain lions and bears, which you'll rarely ever see, even when dead. That explains why there are no bones. And in fact, there have been reports of Sasquatch being shot. One was shot in California a few years ago, and the government took the supposed body away. They did Dna tests and figured the creature is a hybrid between a prehistoric ape, and human
  20. Well, I guess I'm up for that. Shall we start with Sasquatch? This is probably the most likely creature to exist.
  21. Well, depends on which cryptid you want to know about
  22. And why do you say that? Plenty of evidence supports at least some of these ANimals
  23. So what do you guys think about the chances of Sasquatch and his relatives, Loch Ness mosnter, Mokele Mbembe , etc
  24. Hah. That's extremely interesting. Then he must be like ridiculously smart.
  25. True. True. Ok then. I just had the thought as I know plenty of animals look attractive to get mates, and show they are fit and strong, so I wondered if something like that was with us
