When or if you learn that Einstein was wrong about time and gravity, then you will begin to understand the Universe.- 17 replies

Spheres have 3 dimensions - so does a piece of paper - according to some if you walk in a circle forever that represents infinity - it doesn't. Oh - so logic doesn't matter on this site - I get it.- 17 replies

I say it has to be infinite because if it is finite - how does it stop? what lies on the other side? Voids is not an answer- even a void takes space.

height - width - depth - 3d - all spheres are 3d

All spheres are 3d - look it up in a dictionary - unless you live in fantasyland.

You want to explain how a basketball is 2d?

A sphere is 3d - dont you get that?
-
You - you wrote where is the end of the world A sphere can be solid or hollow
-
What does that mean?

All spheres have borders - think of the earth, its a sphere - isn't there a border between the ground and air?
-
No - a sphere has a border.

Right - So if the Universe has always been here - any attempt to discover a "beginning" would be logically flawed. If its borderless - it means its infinite.
-
You still haven't given an a answer as to how it could end - Aristotle called the Universe borderless - im going with him. Until the scientific community can come up with a plausible explanation of HOW it can end - im going with infinity.
-
Im talking about endless space - how could it ever end?
-
So why wouldn't space be the same as the geometric model?
-
I think a lot of the misunderstanding comes from not being clear on what each term means. Some use the term Universe as infinite space, and some use Universe as Observable space. Most use the term "space" and think of the night sky. When I look at the night sky I see space and matter.
-
Space is the absence of matter - I say it can not end - just as Aristotle said - Logically it can not end. What do you believe and why?
-
I agree - Gravity is created when a large amount of matter collects and forms a moon, planet or star. Gravity ONLY effects other matter - it has no effect on time or space. Time Dilation is the effect gravity has on matter that measures time - as a clock or GPS device.

Time is a constant - special relativity is wrong - nothing effects time - Time dilation is the effect gravity has on matter, not time.

The Universe is infinite - its always been here here - and yet you get banned in this room for writing the truth.

Time as "absolute"? - can you explain this? Of course not in its current state - its always changing.
-
What about Logic - apparently this group doesn't consider Logic a science. Science isn't looking for the truth? That's sad - Logically space and time have to be infinite. Logically space and time must be infinite.
-
Coukl you explain what you consider Science - apparently Logic and reason don't qualify.
