OMG - you poor simpletons - There are no edges - space does not expand or retract. Strange - if you don't want to believe me - fine - keep your head in the sand.
-
lol What evidence? You are truly clueless Strange. Let me attempt 1 last time to enlighten you. 1. The Universe is space and matter in every direction - forever 2. The Universe has always been here - there was no "beginning" 3. What many refer to as the Universe is actually the "observable universe" - a sphere of approx. 30 billion light years across. 4. It generally accepted that the observable universe started about 15 billion years ago with the big bang 5. Galaxies inside created during the Big Bang are still moving apart. Probabilities suggest that since life evolved here that it has evolved an infinite number of times before. I hope this clears things up for you.

What does that have to do with this discussion? I remember hearing as a child that man was incapable of comprehending eternity. I didn't know if that was true or not. As an adult I do comprehend eternity - after reading many of the responses on this board I see that most men can not comprehend eternity.

Some of you science nerds are truly stupid. Its so sad that you cant comprehend the simple concept of infinity. I suppose its because you believe everything has a beginning and a ending. That's true with most things, but not the universe or time.

I read that - any discussion about how the universe can be anything but infinite is stupid. There are no "edges" There is no shape - the universe is space and matter forever in every direction - Jesus its so simple, im amazed at how many "educated" people don't get this.

Ophiolite - what an arrogant simpleton you are. Why don't you give me one example of how time and space could not be infinite.

lol this is so funny - I honestly thought everyone accepted the universe as infinite. So tell me, if you were to travel forever in any direction what do you think you'd find? A brick wall maybe? No seriously, how could space have any limits? No the universe goes on forever in every direction. Time is infinite also - there was no beginning of time - how could there be? The space that is here has always been here - can you create or destroy space? Some people confuse the idea of universe with "known universe" - our known universe supposedly started with the big bang - I don't know -I wasn't there - scientists claim this is how our earth and galaxy started - who am I to disagree? However logic tells me that there is no end of space and no beginning of time - how could there be?
-
Since space and time are both infinite - we can reasonably conclude that there has been an infinite number of earthlike planets. Also an infinite number right now - its only distance keeping us from discovering each other.
-
The Universe is infinite - it has always been here. Anyone with any logic skills knows this. There is no scientific evidence that can prove this - only logic proves this - when you make claims that the universe isn't infinite you prove to this board how underdeveloped your logic skills are.
-
Our galaxy may be 15 billion years old - if that's what the scientists say im fine with that. However the universe is infinite - there was no beginning - that a fact. I understand that this simple concept may be beyond your comprehension, but that sounds like a personal problem and something you should work on.

Ok - the universe is infinite - time is infinite. There has been an infinite number of planets with life, and there will be an infinite number of planets with life to come in the future. If some scientist says the universe is 15 billion years old he is wrong. The universe has always been here - and will always be here.
-
The fact is time, space and matter are all infinite. Therefore since life evolved here, it has probably evolved throughout the universe an infinite number of times.
-
There was no beginning to the Universe - the universe has always been here. I understand that this simple concept is beyond some of your comprehensions. But its a fact - what is here has ALWAYS been here. The Big Bang is simply the start of our little section of the universe - or the "known" or "observable" universe. It might help you to think of the BB as a huge bowling ball opposed to a balloon. Gravity at the center became so great it exploded. So there of course was a center, and fragments of the cooling explosion are "expanding" - however the Universe by definition can not expand or retract. Time and Space are not related - time dilation is false. Time travel is an impossibility. Wormholes are ridiculous. These are the facts people.

I agree that clocks and other time measuring devices can be affected by gravity. However time itself is independent of anything that happens in the universe. And yes there was a center of the big bang.

Logic tells me there was no beginning to the universe - that's all the evidence i need. Of course it has always been here, if you could travel back in time 100 billion years what would you see? just more space, stars and planets. How could there be a beginning? What is here has always been here, just in different form. And time is a constant. Time dilation is a myth, any argument you hear that it isn't is a flawed argument. And there was a center of the big bang - there was an example given of a balloon, well even a balloon has a center.

I've heard so much how the universe started with the big bang. I contend that there was no beginning to the universe - it has always been here, always will be, and always changing. The Universe is not expanding, - the Known Universe may be. The known universe is everything we can see with Hubble - a sphere of about 45 billion light years. I believe galaxies in the known universe started with the big bang. Ive yet to discover where the center of the big bang took place, ive done a little research on this and id love to hear if anyone has information on this topic. Also I think time dilation is false - that time is a completely different thing than any of our measuring devices. Wormholes are a silly and ridiculous concept too.
