  1. how are you going to explain something you cannot even begin to comprehend? ridiculous
  2. algebraic geometry, Lie groups, operator calculus, manifold theory. calculus is nothing, its just a small step.
  3. that is not the case. i am saying you have more than enough members, but none of them ever take advantages of the services you have.
  4. dont even bother, almost 80% of the time forum members do not maximize on the options available to them. there are about 4 people who are regulars in the chat, and i have not seen i new person in the chat for a while. dont waste ur time....
  5. hey what exactly did Ramanujan do in the field of conic sections?
  6. why did patterson stop making them? im assuming he is still alive.

    Physics Question

yep, regardless of your frame of reference, light travels at c. this post should belong under relativity by the way
  8. who has all the books? one of the greatest comics ever..
  9. method of steepest descent is one, off the top of my head. also fourier integrals, riemann-hilbert spaces, geez the list goes on dude
  10. that does not even deserve a reply
  11. that is not such a good way to look at it. complex analysis will play an intregral part to finding a theory of the universe, if it exists. the joyce manifolds theorized in string theory are partially complex. complex variables also play a huge role in engineering. and to the person who said that imaginary numbers are baloney basically, i dont think that is so. Gauss, one of the greats, proved that imaginary numbers must exist and have a logical backbone to it.
  12. get ready guys, there will be hundreds of new papers released based on the WMAP findings, finally cosmology might be established as a solid science, instead of pure speculation. question mark?
  13. hey which programming language should i try to learn first?? what are the benefits of each language?
  14. exactly, there is no problem with being a member of both. dont discriminate, appreciate :spam:
  15. good to see ya again chris, my position is similar to chris's. please, EVERYONE, leave the politics out of it. none of this, this forum is better than that, please.
  16. whoa bill, michio kaku's texts are graduate texts on m-theory, superstring theory, geometry and are all usually high level graduate texts.
  17. heh thats up to the engineers. :spam:
  18. topology and algebraic topology become very useful when dealing with harmonic mappings and string theory. id like a coffee no sugar and a chocolate torus please!
  19. doctor bill, you can flame me for saying this, but i think it has to be said. this is all very childish and unnecessary. i understand there is a growing rivalry between mkaku forums and scienceforums, and i will make it clear that i will continue to post on both, if that is a problem, delete my account. i dont need politics in my science. thank you
  20. in order to experimentally detect the brane worlds, we have to attain an energy level that will "unbreak" the brane symmetries.
  21. the reason string theory is so promising is because all you need is the 11 dimensional geometry of spacetime to describe the universe. however, we are not sure if the 11 dimensional spacetime we are referring to is even within our mathematical grasp. the zero brane causes us to speculate on whether our current spacetime is just a gross approximation. a new type of geometry must be developed. in accordance with a new type of calculus.
