There is alot of nickel plated jewelry for only a couple of dollars on ebay but thats alot of trouble for something i think i could probably just find somewhere. Also would i be alright to store sulfuric acid in plastic containers? ~Scott

Heres my attempt. Within the spaceship light will travel at a constant It will hit the mirror and bouce back and you will see your reflection as usual. This is because light will travel at a constant speed reletive to its frame of reference. Just like in the train example...A light is place in the centre of a train carrige at either end are light activated doors the train is traveling half the speed of light. An observer on the train will see the doors open simultaneously while an external observer will see them open at different times. This is why someone on the spaceship will see the reflection appear as usual but someone outside the spaceship will not see the reflection appear.Thats just my 2c hope that helps. ~Scott

It is possible to remove all the electrons on the smalllll scale i think they do even exist in space naturally. To remove all the electrons from a whole piece of metal though i dont know. If i had to guess though i would say it could be done (Im pretty sure ive seen pics of gold in atom smashers and they remove all the electrons for that). Its easyer to do with atoms with smaller nucleus because as you remove the electrons the resultant electrons are less atracted to the nucleus. I mean its quite easy to take all the electrons of hydrogen happens all the time aluminium is another matter though. ~Scott

What if the other set just hid under your gum and only came up when one was knocked out they wouldn't be noticeable i dont mean several rows of teeth. I think our jaws could support two sets of teeth i mean they do it when we are yonger...I probably only thought of this because i got two fillings last week and it would just be so much easyer if they could have pulled them out... Also i must second "Pie with every meal" ~Scott

Reverse, I dont think Bud's intention was to imply that children should never be disciplined but rather that they should not be abused. Also what do you mean when you say some of the rules are the rules of nature? Bud never suggested not teaching kids common sense like the examples you gave also in what way would abusing your child after such incidents help? ~Scott

Activation E-mail Not Received?

Maybe it went into your junkmail folder -
Are you refering to my replys or hoho's post? BTW hoho im still awaiting your response to the first point of my first reply?
-
hoho did you read my post? i clearly outlined why your argument of its ok in one culture so then its ok in ours was a total contradiction ~Scott
-
You believe a child can't be made into a "civilised citizen' without abusing them? Please elaborate... There are lots of people who are not abused who are good people just like their are meany people who were abused as children who do not turn out as civilised citizens...Your conclusion that abuse equals good citizen is seriously flawed if I were you I'd think about that for a while... Just because some people in certain cultures abuse their children does that make it OK or more so the 'right' thing to do? The coin has too sides remember If you think that because something is OK in one culture in makes it universally exceptable then many laws/customs in your country would be wrong. Just like the laws in those other countries that allow child abuse would be incorrect because laws in other countries prohibit it your argument is a total contradiction. You'll have to have a better argument then that if you want a leg to stand on... ~Scott

I think the whole red mercury thing is a load of hooplah IMHO. Also i dont know why any1 would want Osmium 187 its not the heaveyest or lightest isotope of Osmium and its stable kind of boring realy! ~Scott

If there is a jar that i just can't open i always find putting it in freezer helps but this is a different can of worms. If localised heating dosen't work do as YT suggested using some stillsons for extra leverage would help out also. ~Scott

Many plastics are biodrgradable ...but i dont know if i'd like the idea of a robot in my colon... If i could improve anything it would be having teeth that continually replace themselves like sharks instead of just two sets. ~Scott

^^OMG^^ holy shit! Well at least you no longer have to wory about that pesky wallet being to heavy On serious note Your Irdium + Ruthenium looks ?Oxidised? is it just the picture or aren't they that shiny? ~Scott

I was under the impression that every compound would decompose if enough heat was added...BTW your teacher sounds lost is he a PE teacher? ~Scott

There are some universtity courses available but science is very limited. Universities and schools seem very reluctant to help organise it they are pretty much of the mindset just put all your time and effort into getting a good UAI then go to Uni...This is alright for people who have diverse skills as I said before there are not many choices at my school and if you do one subject you can't do several others. So you have to have a mix of many different subjects in you can't lets say just focus on science or just on History subjects, but a mix of all of them. So for people like me I have to do well in science subjects (which i can handle) and others that im not very good at this makes getting into Uni more dificult even though I could handle a science based course and not a economics one for example. ~Scott
-
Yeah that would suck Your school system seems to make more sense then ours They let you excell in the subjects you want. Here i can't take more then 2 units of chem and physics and forget about biology three sciences not at my shithouse schol ~Scott

Thanks guys i got it now ~Scott

"the alu reacted well in the CuSO4 but not so well in the FeSO4?" That Al is seriously f*cked up... I'll get a hold of those chems ive got some time off in a couple of weeks and i'll definately try it then. Your not the only one who can break science ~Scott
-
Yeah ive been looking at reduction potentials, electronegativity and other things but i have no idea why it has not worked I'll say it again chemically I cant make sense of it. At least you've got your nickel and this bizzare reaction has atleast paid off ~Scott
-
Lets hope it is, for our sanity if nothing else...Though that dosn't explain why the Mg reacted so slowly! (We might just have to forget about that) ~Scott
-
Your probably right the purity is not likely to be a factor. I dont have the chems to try this reaction but maybe someone who does can...This has me stumped, chemicaly the Al should displace the Nickel is solution easily i just have no idea why it isn't ~Scott
-
How pure is the Al maybe its an alloy and that is hindering the reaction... ~Scott
