I never said Gallium was a transition metal, I said that transition metals were only dangerous when they get past a certain concentration in the body. And that <1mg is not a lethal does of Gallium. I suggest you read more throughly.

Transition metals are only dangerous when they exceed a certain amount within the body, <1mg or so of Gallium is hardly a lethal dose, But yeah what did it taste like?

Yeah your right that is a hell of a lot of rain for Ssydney, Were in a major drought right now so rain is very rare. I used to live in the states(Iowa) many years ago and it is deffinately warmer here. Also Brisbane is generally warmer then Sydney throughout the year.
Back on topic though, I think JWalker needs to provide some photos, after all this is a science forum and you need to provide evidence to claims.

It pissed down rain for 5/6 days and this is the first sunny day we've had in a week. Yeah it got to about 18 degrees today but its usualy cooler tops of about 15.
Edit: I hope this thread does not get deleted, real or not it should act as a warning to others.

Eight....75gallon....bags....*jaw drops* how far away were you from the explosion I am honestly surprised you are not dead. How long since you filled the bags with hydrogen did you ignite them because that could explain the you not being deadness. Mate, go to the doctor have him look at your arm and also your eyes.

I thought Ammonium carbonate was somewhat soluble so depending on the concentrations of the solution it may not precipitate and form solid ammonium carbonate. So the products could very well be ammonium ions and carbonate ions.

Ok how about "effect radius" It would mimick a blast radius in that the effect would be most dramatic at the centre and less so as the radius increases. Any way foreget the lingo debate got any idea what chems could do this

I have to do my civic duty here everything I have seen out of this book is a total load of bullplop, you'd have a better chance at causing damage if you set that book on fire and threw it at something you would probably do more damage then following any recipies ive seen from that book.
Good point Yt. However could you have a chemical reaction that was so rapid and endothermic that it gave the impression of a cold explosion? Coldest at the centre and less cold towards the edge.

I found this on the peta website, 2500 chickens! even If i had one whole chicken every day it would take nearly seven years to fill that quota. How sick of chicken would you be after that...
Well a pair on ion specific electrodes would be much cheeper then the gas-phase mass spectrometry, but still more expenisse then spamonkeys method. But if your looking for a probe like thing then thats what I would suggest.
