Why don't tRNA and rRNA get translated?
Dak replied to NPK's topic in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology
Do you know wether tRNA and rRNA would get translated if for some reason they didnt get folded? -
America doesn't own Iraq, so she can't just take their oil. America doesn't own Mexico, so she cant just take their oil I dont see how that would affect American oil prices

I think (but am by no means sure) that the odd bases wouldnt be a problem, if it came to translation: pseudouracil would probably be mistaken for uracil, etc. The reason is probably that the tRNA dont have any loose ends with start codons (?) to start transcription, and also that their tertary shape prevents them running through the ribosomal grove-thing (as donkey said). hmm... interesting. (hah -- and i call myself a molecular geneticist: that has got to be the pantsest answre to a genetics question ever given ). -
The most sensible advice that i'v heard is to learn C, pearl, java, assembly, visual basic, XHTML, loooooooooads of different languages, untill you get to the point where you can pick up and be very good at a new programming language in just a few days, due to your understanding of the way programming languages work. at this point, you could be a 'hacker' by thinking of what bits of programming do and donot do etc, as opposed to what the author obviously intended them to do/not do.. If you just learn to take advantage of exploits and vulnerabilities, then you are a script kiddie.

isnt IgM released at the onset of an infection, desighned more to clump antigens together into an inoperable lump and catalyse the compliment-degredation of an antigen, and once sufficient macrophages have been mobalised production is switched to IgE, which is more macrophage-specific?

If we lived in a world where everything was free, and you didnt need to work in order to get food, a house etc, but things (like litter collection, running hospitals, building new houses etc) still needed to be done, would you still work? Vote for all options that are applicable, and remember to vote for one of the first two options to give an overall stat for the amount of people who would work. Vote is annonymouse, so you can reveal your lasy-ass spongyness without fear of reproach

Also, It appears that there are only two threads: "forum open" by you under notices, and "how to be an effective anti-creationist" by hellbender under GD. Is that the case?

Or abiogenesis for that matter. As swansont hinted, if life on earth started from panspermia then life would still have had to have arisen wherever the pansperm(?) came from; meaning abiogenesis would still have had to have happened, albeit elsewhere. In the abscence of evidence spesifically suggesting panspermia occoured, okkrhams razor suggests terrestrial abiogenisis is the most likely model. -
That doesnt sound like me. I have an inordinate amount of cack on my pc, that I never get around to cleaning out. Oh well, one of lifes little misteries.

Im pretty sure that avitar.bmp was the blue-dragon that i uploaded for my SFN avitar. [edit] No, i just checked and your right. only gif, jpg, png can be used as an avitar here. which begs the rather odd question of why i had my avitar stored on my pc as a bmp and only as a bmp [/edit]
-
No trouble logging on as such, and now i can see the forums. Got the avitar uploaded by changing it to a jpeg.
-
It looks caky aswell (drupal, that is) also, when i tried to upload avitar.bmp it told me it isnt an image. which is a lie.

when i try and click on the 'forums' link, i get 'page not found' (not a 404, your actual site telling me that the page cant be found'. Im not registered tho, so i dunno if im supposed to be able to see the forums.

I think that for legal reasons you might have to inform your enployers if you put a keylogger on their work computer. for kids, if you put a keyloger on the pc and dont tell them and they find out, the results can be explosive. so you should probably tell them if you install a keylogger.

You could always tell them that theyre only allowed on that one site, and also tell them that youll be checking. Then, you can check their history and browser cache to see what sites theyve been visiting. Visiting one other site before you allow them access will make it easyer to check that they havent cleared their cache (again, unless theyre computer-savvy)

Could he delete the reg-entry that contains the address of his DNS and add the IP of the one website that he wants to allow into the hosts file? Again, you'd need non-computer savvy kids for this to work completely, but its slightly trickier to reverse that the address-bar idea. actually hiding the adress bar aswell would be a good idea to stop them entering the IP directly into the browser. another way would be to download the one site, cripple the internet connection, and use your browser to view the site offline, as long as it isnt frequently updated or humungouse.

Ah right, my bad. Wizdum has to hold the record for having the smallest amount of time elapse between being barred and being put on the hall of shame I'd like to add *******. he was a tosser. [edit]actually, i just checked his profile and apparently he still hangs around here.[/edit]
