Is this a Pre-Human Skull? I believe it is.
Raider5678 replied to WilliamNye's topic in Evolution, Morphology and Exobiology
It's a rock. If not, then I've walked across the largest collection of human heads ever. -
Does Almighy God view all people in the same light?
Raider5678 replied to Alan McDougall's topic in Religion
But since homosexuality is a sin, how can they repent and still practice it without still being in sin? -
I very much agree with you. I think that fact I can even ponder if I'm self aware is proof I'm self aware.

Scientists recently found life on Mars!!!! Curiosity saw a feline creature walk in front of it while it was on the move and sent the images to scientists back on earth. Scientists on earth were amazed! But due to the delay of the radio signals between Earth and Curiosity, they sent the signal to stop too late. Curiosity ran it over. Curiosity, killed the cat.

Here, let me try and explain this logic. Imagine sending up 300,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000(300 Decillion) balloons filled with helium. And the first one to pop was recorded. And then everyone started running in circles shouting "Why this one??? It must have been chosen by a higher power for a reason!" And remember. I'm a Christian just as you are. I'm arguing that what you're saying isn't science. Not against your religion.

Pre-established factors..... Physics perhaps? And what about quantum physics? I might be wrong, but I'm fairly certain that has chance in it.

What if we're alone in the universe, and billions of years from now they still have no idea how life possibly began. Would humans eventually just give up and say something or another made us, or would they still claim random coincidence? I'm not trying to discuss the possibility of God here. Just what conclusions humanity would come to if it encountered a mystery it couldn't solve.

1. Religitard is someone who claims things as absolutely true and cannot be argued against based upon a dogmatic religion. Repeatedly claiming the same thing over and over without acknowledging what others say. Now, I'm not the most popular person here, but I'm sure at least one person or another would confirm that that isn't me. 2. Oh? So you're claiming I'm preaching that science has proven God in that post? Please. By all means, show me the evidence, and I'll admit guilty. I said that IF. If is a word that you're probably unfamiliar with. It means perhaps, maybe, but not certain, in the case of a senario. Example. I say. IF the world ends, people will die. I am not claiming the world is ending. If you don't agree, and think I am claiming the world is ending, then I guess you genuinely thought I was trying to say science had proven God. What I was saying in fact, was that being closed minded is not helpful for you anymore then it's helpful for anyone. So perhaps, heed the advice of a 14 year old boy, and try not to be closed minded. Just saying. Also. Very mature. Negative reps for the win. Perhaps if we could avoid ad hominem attacks and discuss the actual topic posed by the OP, this would go better. Back on topic now. 1. I'm somewhat rooting for you man, but this isn't science. This is philosophy. You said Belief and Science. At this moment, science has no idea what started the universe or what caused it. God is still a chance. But he's not a certainty in the view of science. 2. Perhaps they're just random properties? If everything was made of gummy worms, but that's all we had ever known, we would consider it normal. 3. Again, not scientifically applicable.

How to stop an ice-age if yellowstone volcano was to explode
Raider5678 replied to blixty's topic in Earth Science
1k * 1k. These are huge, sucking in a massive amount of gas(as well as plain old normal air.) 1 thousand square kilometers of sucking power. That's a lot of gas storage. So no, not possible. -
Holy cow. Genetic engineering really does have a lot of things it could do. And not to get off topic, so maybe I should start a new thread. But what is the ethics of this? Also, if this works. Christianity, Muslims, and Hindus, will have their religion 100% without a doubt proven wrong. Seems like 2017 will be the year Religion and Science finally have a point, where they can actually prove each other wrong.

If all of science pointed to life being impossible to just spontaneously appear, you still wouldn't believe in God. If all of science pointed to the Universe being spontaneously created out of nothing, you still wouldn't believe in God. If all of science pointed to there being a God, I know for certain, you would still deny it.

Closed minded. Kinda hypocritical don't you say?

Alright, here's the link. https://www.technologyreview.com/s/600763/10-breakthrough-technologies-2016-immune-engineering/ The source is from the university of MIT, so I'm assuming its much more trust worthy then crack pot science sites. "The technique has now been tested in more than 300 patients, with spectacular results, often resulting in complete remission. " The process, in short, edits T-Cells with a virus and then inserting them into the blood stream, it allows the body to actively find and eliminate cancer cells, effectively curing it. Hopefully, this process will be able to be applied to all cancer types, other then just leukemia. But even if it is just leukemia, it would save 60,000 lives every year. Please tell me if I'm wrong, and this isn't a cure.

Taxing Extreme Wealth to Fight Extreme Poverty
Raider5678 replied to Phi for All's topic in Politics
Can't ever be a simply black and white answer.... Oh well. That's reality. Anyways, I guess I'd still support it as long as not all of it was given away in subsidies. It would probably help the poor more if they had a better education. -
Jack in the box? Cracker jack? Skipjack? Blackjack? I agree with you, it has those 4 meanings. But what other meanings make these make sense?

Taxing Extreme Wealth to Fight Extreme Poverty
Raider5678 replied to Phi for All's topic in Politics
Are you suggesting giving the money taxed from the rich to the poor? Or spending it on things like education, health care, etc? Because I would support the second one, but not the first one. I'm 99% certain you mean the second one. But I'm clarifying. -
Brilliant. Simply brilliant. +1

It's not always about the threat.

Weren't you the person saying crime rates where going up because of access to guns?
-
Your humanity. Do you feel torturing little kids is a wonderful thing? No. Of course not. Because you have humanity. Your humanity gives you purpose. Or God can give you purpose. What ever you want.
-
The reason it is so widely used is because it's meaning don't mean jack. I mean, try saying "Cut-O-Lantern" or "Vibrator Hammer" or "Big pot" or "Cracker mix" or "peppered moldy milk cheese" or (fill in the blank replacing "jack" with a term that could replace it.)

My purpose? I'm here now. I exist. I can feel, see, learn, experience, and live. Others, feel, see, learn, experience, and live. So I live in the here and now, and I do my best to prepare for my future. And I will die. I have accepted that. But I don't roll over and die. Others will follow me. Others will live. And so I can work to make their lives ever so little bit better. I can work to give my family(if I ever have one) a good life. My purpose is what ever I decide it to be. Because what I do affects me, and the people around me. My purpose doesn't need someone dictating it. And while I believe there's a higher power, specifically God, I can have purpose with out. And so can people who don't believe in God.

Say, where do you live? Nice suburbs? Nice apartment in the city? How about a small drug town? Or a violent area in the city? Have you ever lived in a place where you hear gunshots every night? Because those are bad. Now I agree with you, he definitely draws it out on extreme and blames it on blacks and immigrants too much, there's plenty of white muggers, rapists, murders, drug dealers, and more. But there's still a lot of crime in areas that aren't rich.
