  1. So in reality, that line between kinetic energy and mass is nonexistent, but we consider that it isnt equivalent since it wouldnt work with our equations and numbers, or how we describe physics with our language and number system?
  2. Hey Guys, so thanks to a great math teacher at my school, I know what i want to do with my life: I want to become a Physicist. He has gotten me madly in love with science and especially physics. And since summer is starting in a week for me, i'd like to do some 'physics stuff' I was originally going to buy a microscope of 1000x but i decided that since i am much more interested in physics, i would love to do some activity related to physics. If possible i would have tried to make a particle accelerator, but that's a dream, since i neither have the funds nor the genius mind of Michio Kaku. My greatest interest has been in theoretical physics specifically related to astrophysics, such as Relativity and Quantum mechanics. I am no expert or even close to it in this topics, but love reading about them, so if you guys could suggest some ideas on how to spend my free time during the summer please tell me. So far i am just thinking of learning how observe space and take data from the positions of stars, but i wanted to see if you guys could suggest something more interesting.\ Thanks for all the suggestions.
  3. I usually do not point mistakes out but, just to clear my doubts, doesn't special relativity state than nothings from any perspective can be observed to go faster than the speed of light. Even if you are moving towards a light source, the light being emitted should be measured the same speed as if you were moving away from the light source. Is this right or wrong?
  4. I am reading Principia and i am not sure what he mains in certain paragraphs, such as this one: "The orders of the parts of time is immutable, so is the order of the parts of space. Suppose those parts to be moved out of their places, and they will be moved...out of themselves. For times and places are...the places themselves as of all other things" I suspect that since i am still at the beginning of the book, he is probably stating something simple, however i have little clue as to what he means mostly cause of his archaic writing style... If anyone could help me understand this, it would be great and i am planning on using this forum in the future to ask more questions on Principia.
