I found a way to flawlessly ignite thermite, ok so make your thermite and set up your pile (or watever your doing with it). Next get a piece of Mg ribbon. Bend it like in the picture. Now sprink some oxidizer on just the ribbon, as seen in the picture. Ok, so you light the top of the ribbon, and run like hell. When the burning Mg falls onto the Mg with oxidizer on it, it will violently ignite and you will have enough heat to flawlessly ignite your thermite. In the picture ive used sugar in the place of thermite so you can see the oxidizer i put on it. Check out the attachment.

Im sorry to tell you this old friend akcapr, but ive seen the video of your flash powder and, flash powder is much more intense. The stuff you made is interesting, but true flash powder (i.e. 75% potassium perchlorate and 25%aluminum powder german dark) wouldve blown the head of that torch. In yours we heard a whoodh sound, but in true flash, you here a loud bang. Trust me, flash is scary as hell.

Why does Solder have a lower melting point than the parent metals

Good: the smell of your hands after youve been working with metal (copper especialy). Its kinda wierd metals have smells?Theres more chemical things i like, like isopropyl alcohol (in small doses, otherwise it burns your nose) but theres to many to list. Bad: Sulfur Dioxide, the smell of your bleaching, dying skin after you get conc. H2O2 on it. some plastics smell good, but burning plastics are awful. I expierence ozone when i took apart a plasma ball and set up a 1/4 inch arc across some metal and got a good whiff of the ozone. It smells like the ocean kinda, alittle, kinda fresh smell. conc. HCl is got to one of the worst ( i got a good whoof of my muriatic the first time i open it, i mean for gods sake the stuff is so conc. its green!

i read in the 2000 version of guinnes world records that: The CIH virus, or "chernobyl" virus has affected one million pc's since it was first triggered on april 26, 1998, the 12th anniversary of the nuclear reactor disastor in chernobyl, USSR. According to the taipei authorities, the virus was written by Chen Ing-hau, whose initials make up the name of the virus. CIH irreversibly alters a computers BIOS chip, which is soldered on the motherboard. The damage can make a computer totaly useless. This is what it reads as. Anyway, i dont know if this is a software problem, or a hardware. Sounds scary though. What does a bios chip do anyway? I believe it contains and runs the computer's basic software (like before windows (or watever OS) loads). Im not sure.

you have to fit a bond with a cylinder of LN2 liquid nitrogen) so when it explodes it sprays everything with liquid nitrogen mist. Just a thought.

try just heating it realy slowly. Are you missing the mp as in, is it heating to fast find the mp? It should stay at its MP until it is all melted away.

ok, so im selling a book on ebay called "A LABORATORY CHEMISTRY". It was published in 1904. The book is very cool for any chemist but ive read it through. I understand that there is a thing against advertising, but i think people here would enjoy using this book. It is a good resource. Mods, if you feel that this is not appropriete (linking you to my ebay auction) please just delete the thread. Im postig this because some one here might want this book. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=2228&item=6966444224&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW

what does it smell like, o-zone?

try getting an infared thermometer and when it begins to liquify measure the temp. Then just make it seem complicated by throwing an another thing, like you heated it very slowly and steadily under a small flame or something.

The flash recipe's listed there are not desingned to produce light, but to produce powerful bangs even when unconfined. They are also called flash powder and are friction sensitive. They are called flash powder becuase they react so fast. They do produce a flash of light, but are way to dangerous. Flash is used in devices such as M80's and i believe it teeters on being a high explosive. This depends on they mix you choose though.

Im talking about a composition that can burn steadily, and slowly, not flash. Anyway, like yt said, stop posting reply's if there lies (that rymes).

sODIUM hYDROXIDE IS OK AT DISSOLVING BIOMATTER (damn caps lock)

IF there highpower consumption, then whyu are they so popular. What makes them so supposedly "superior" to other wireless devices?
