  1. k = spring constant or a damping coefficient? D = string length displacement or a symbol for derivation of (t) (d/dt)?? and b should be the spring constant but.. (sin θ i + cos θ j)??
  2. What if a words appears even you're not typing anything?? This sometimes happen to me when i'm doing my assignment in Office Word 2009. Although i cannot understand the meaning of the words, it seriously scares me especially when i'm alone.. sigh..
  3. I don't really sure but i would say that the primary corrosion product of iron is Iron hydrous oxide (Fe(OH)3) not iron oxide. Iron oxide is more tend to form iron hydroxide (red-brown rust) when exposed to humidity. the expert may be right.. but rusting will only stop as long as the piece is immersed in the solution http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Standard_electrode_potential
  4. Maybe you should know what the blue-black coating is before making any conclusion.. You can try using the XRD to analyze the composition. Maybe the composition of the coating is somehow still active or chemically unstable before forming a protective passive layer.
  5. Yeah.. burning wood means you have to cut down a trees.. deforestation contributes to global warming because tree is a good CO2 sink. Also, like Mr Skeptic said.. burning also produces black carbon particulates, if i'm not mistaken the particulates also known as ABC's particle or atmospheric brown clouds.. this sort of particle absorb light and darken the ground. For example, most cities in China became darker due to this ABC's particulate.
  6. No one play DotA?? So sad..
  7. yeah a floating object or any option as long as it doesn't use a turbine blade. Some of wave power generators that looks safe for marine life are such the salter duck, "sea snake" and wave roller.
  8. I also voted for Nuclear power. But sea power (waves) also has potential.
  9. At the moment in our solar system, we have eight planets, one dwarf planet (Ceres), and two plutoids, Pluto and Eris. Other discoveries may be still to come...
  10. We are in amateur science section dude..
  11. if we kick a ball at light speed will the ball flew before being kicked?? i think that human have their limitation in time/speed matter.
  12. speed of light = 299 792 458 m / s then if we travel at the speed of light... i think it should be like this.. if we walk (at the speed of light) for 1 metre.. it just take only 299792458th of 1 second (almost zero). Meanwhile, at the same time, a normal person walk also for 1 metre, and usually take at least 1 sec. So the point here, although we travel faster than the light, the time still cannot reach zero or negative value. Therefore I think that the time itself should be defined first before we talk about the time travel.
