I wonder if the human race gets extinct then what will happen to our remaining technical tools and equipments like the space station, GPS system, computers and so on ? Perhaps an alien society will seize them.

Chimpanzees and elephants may fall in the same group.

Time is the gap between two distinct events. In relativity, time is defined as one of the dimensions of physical space-time.

Ions are charged particle that are formed due to loss or gain of electrons by an atom. Atoms that lose electrons are called cations, whereas those that accept them are known as anions. Atoms do so in order to attain a stable electronic configuration of the nearest noble gas.

Perhaps the second most intelligent creatures after human will develop their civilization.

What's the digit in the unit's place
Sriman Dutta replied to Sriman Dutta's topic in Brain Teasers and Puzzles
Correct. -
Now I see that infinitesimals cannot be used as an independent number, but are instead used for making some definitions simple-like this: It [math]f(x)[/math] is a function of [math]x[/math] then - [math] \frac{d}{x} f(x) = \lim_{h -> 0 }\frac{f(x+h)-f(x)}{h} [/math] where h is an infinitesimal.

Hello everyone, Can anyone find what is the digit at the unit's place of the product 81x82x83x....x89, without actual multiplication?

Maximum temperature - Opposite of absolute zero
Sriman Dutta replied to Sorcerer's topic in Classical Physics
If the entropy is zero, the system must be in steady state (I think so). -
From the fact that there exists an infinite number of numbers (real) between 0 and 1, can we conclude that the distance between 0 and 1 on the real line is also infinite, if one infinitesimal were to be considered as one unit of measurement?

Maximum temperature - Opposite of absolute zero
Sriman Dutta replied to Sorcerer's topic in Classical Physics
I don't think there's any limit to highest temperature. It's because temperature is the measure of the average kinetic energy of the molecules contained in a body. This leads to the conclusion that temperature depends upon the supply of heat energy. So, if heat is withdrawn the intermolecular space decreases, thereby decreasing the space available for molecules to move, hence a decrease in kinetic energy. So temperature decreases. But there is a limit to the lowest temperature as at some point there will be no space to move. But, if you supply unlimited heat energy to the molecules, there will be an infinite space and a large kinetic energy. So the temperature shall increase unbounded. -
Interesting.

Since it is a real life situation and not an exact maths, you can first find the area of the elliptical plate, approximate it to the immediate lower number and divide it by the area of each rectangle.

Our brain has a short time memory space where every new thing replaces the earlier or older memory. This thing happens while you remember the new term that you learnt really hard, and forgetting the earlier term.

Merry Christmas........... Thanks to all the members and to all my friends who have given me their valuable suggestions and thoughts. By the way, today I had a really tough exam in the morning......... Any way, what have Santa given you, ha?

See and Solve in one line...................

[math] DE=BE-BD=\frac{BC}{2} -\sqrt{AB^2-AD^2}=\frac{BC}{2}-\sqrt{AB^2-(\frac{AC.AB}{BC})^2}[/math] -
Thanks Bender......... Here I summarize all the formulae for four different situations. For a straight wire carrying current [math] B=\frac{\mu_0 \mu_r I}{2 \pi r}[/math] For a single loop of wire [math] B=\frac{\mu_0 \mu_r I}{2r}[/math] For a solenoid of length [math]l[/math] and having [math]n[/math] turns [math] B=\frac{\mu_0 \mu_r nI}{l}[/math] For a toroid of single turn and of radius [math]r[/math] [math] B=\frac{\mu_0 \mu_r nI}{2 \pi r}[/math] Are they correct??

Have doctors and scientist find out the real reason why people age?
Sriman Dutta replied to nec209's topic in Medical Science
People grow old with the passage of time and a number of changes start to take place in the human body. The hair turns grey or white because of the loss of the melanin pigment. The skin wrinkles as there is loss of moisture and oil secretion from the skin. Moreover, there is gradual loss of calcium from bones, making them weak. Hence old people are generally infirm. Another important change that occurs is the depletion of the sex hormones from the body. The loss of testosterone in males and oestrogen and progesterone in females have a significant effect on their physical appearance. The stoppage of menstrual cycle in a woman at an approximate age of 45-50 years marks the beginning of old-age. -
By rough working, I meant that I worked only upto powers of 4 and then generalized the stuff.
-
I believe that today's technology, which have only been possible due to great strides in mathematics, is the crop grown from the seed of logical imagination.

After a bit of rough working, I get that to do this to powers of n, you need to open n brackets. On doing so and simplifying the equations, the terms of [math] a^n, a^{n-1}, a^{n-2},....[/math] cancel out leaving behind n! (which is also the numerator of the binomial coefficient).
